THIS IS A ZERO STAR REVIEW... They just wouldn't let me choose lower than 1. TLDR - Quoted $X - Charged $2X and did a very poor job. I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU GET A PAPER QUOTE BEFORE YOU LET THEM DO ANY WORK. Mike quoted me $4-500. After the second day of being unable to get this DIY level job done (throwing every excuse and sob story at me I've heard) he actually spoke with BimmerTech on the phone and told them, "Fine, I'll just duct take it to his dashboard." He thought that was really funny, but the next time I spoke with them they reminded me that my warranty would not be honored because he was not a certified installer. Thanks for the professionalism there, Mike. In addition to that, Mike made disparaging remarks about the woman from BimmerTech. First because she was a woman and, "I just would trust a man more.", and then because she had an accent and didn't appear to be American. Disrespecting others doesn't win any points towards professionalism, respect, or trust that a job is being taken seriously. Mike then put my job on the back burner. He moved my car outside where it sat without any work being done. He then worked on other projects he had scheduled so he could, "catch up." Almost as if my job was a side job or a favor. The other projects simply mattered more. I went there two times and my car was sitting in the same exact spot and in the same state (head unit pulled out dangling on the center console. I told him after day 2 that I couldn't afford to be paying for all this extra time that he couldn't get the job done in. He told me that he was going to honor the 4-500 he had quoted me. Fast forward another day and I go to pick it up... (he still didn't get it installed properly... literally Velcro'd it into my glove box) and he's now charging me over $800. I told him I wasn't going to pay almost twice what he quoted me and then reassured me he would honor. He gave me a sob story about how hard the job was and that he worked late to get it done. I told him I wasn't paying that amount and he took the keys and walked away saying, "Enjoy the walk home." This is when I about lost it. My car was basically a hostage at this point. Just do yourself a favor and drive a few more miles to find someone who, A - knows that they're doing. B - is not a racist or sexist. C - is honest regarding pricing. This is as good as it gets. They are fair and honest and do the best work I have ever experienced in my many years on this earth. Very personable and again quality work. I will never as long as I am in this area take any of our five vehicles to any other place. I am not an easy person to please nor do I trust easily but when I take my car there these things I don't have to worry about I know I will get my money's worth and then some. I am happy to say that the feel of the car has changed for the better and I am no longer experiencing the problems I had before. I will be returning again to finish up some Tech/electrical and front axle work that I decided to hold off on 8 months ago. After the final repairs are complete, I feel confident that my car will run like it's fresh off the line. Putting their amazing skills aside, these guys personalities have not changed. All I wanted was heat. Just heat. I was tired of driving my son to work and back with no heat in the truck. What luck! One of the den leaders in my younger son's cub scout pack owned a garage and he could fix me up. Seems like you could trust someone who is a den leader in your son's cub scout pack, right? He hosted a Cub Scout ceremony in his shop, what could go wrong, right? You had a good rapport with him, right? He quoted you a dollar amount just under $2K to fix your heat and you pay him in cash, get receipts. No work is done. Have to have your vehicle towed out after they send you letters telling you that your vehicle is abandoned. I paid $1800 to get my heat fixed. Drove my truck in with no problems, Lewis Auto Care messed up my engine, had to have it towed out AFTER I paid for repairs I didn't get. I'm looking into a lawsuit. read more

I chose to schedule an appointment at this auto care repair business after looking for a local repair shop that specializes in european vehicle repairs. Their reviews were mostly good with the exception of a few that warned others to not go to this place for auto repairs. I decided to give the auto repair business a try despite the warnings, being only a few dissatisfied customers. I unfortunately have become another dissatisfied customer after the truly horrible treatment by the owner. I took my Mercedes-Benz there for a suspension repair that needed done in early June. I was told that the parts would be ordered and delivered in a few days, but no longer than a week. I put a down payment of half the estimate as the owner required. Over two weeks went by and I heard nothing from the owner as to the status of my car repair, so I decided to call him to be in the know of the status of the repair. He told me that the parts have not arrived yet to the business. I asked the owner to contact me when the parts arrive, so I have some information as to the status of the repair. Another two weeks went by and no phone call received. Being concerned, I went into the business and spoke directly to the owner who after looking on his computer for the order status said to me that the parts were delivered to another address in the area near him. The owner went on to explain that this frequently happens and that it has been an ongoing problem. I was perplexed by this explanation, as other european cars including some Mercedes-Benz vehicles that were previously there were repaired and long gone and new ones there for repair, but yet my car just sat there for weeks with no phone call or contact from the owner. Another two weeks went by and I called the owner once again and he said that he would re-order the parts again. At this point it was over a month and a half went by and still no repair to my car. Then, another week went by and no contact from the owner after he said that he re-ordered the parts for the job which I put half the repair fee down on. I again returned back to the auto shop to speak to the owner directly on the difficulty and he assured me that the parts are on their way to his business. I voiced my dissatisfaction of the matter to him and his lack of any appropriate communication. The owner showed little concern and did not offer any apology. I asked for a future e-mail when the car repair is to be completed and I also began to send e-mails to the owner for follow up of the repair job every few days, as I was completely perplexed by the lack of concern and no legitimate explanations and also feeling trapped by the owner, as I had put half the fee down for the repair. I ended up walking out the door of the building and I could hear him laughing to his other worker inside about me and the car repair. This is entirely unacceptable as a business practice. The whole experience left me very disgusted and trapped as I was already committed to the job with a down payment. After another two weeks went by with my e-mails and then I finally got a phone call that the car was completed. My e-mails appeared to motivate the owner to get the repair job completed before other relief remedies were sought. About a month later, I took my car to another place for a second repair needed in the same area as the owner worked on and I was told that a hose was leaking for some time and should have been replaced at the time of the original repair. This confirmed to me that the original repair by business owner was not completed faithfully. Beware of where you go for vehicle repairs and take the negative feedback of others very, very seriously. I learned this the hard way and wanted to share my experience, so that good customers can make knowledgeable decisions with their car repair business choices. I was left with an business experience that I will never forget with lasting scars and distrust. I was originally naive, but no longer as I have the business owner to give thanks, inasmuch, he gave me an education and I hope I can pass it along to others in their education. read more

Fast, friendly, affordable and professional. Lewis Auto Care did a great job with my BMW

This is probably the worst experience I've had in dealing with a repair shop. My daughter is away at college and her vehicle wouldn't start. I located Lewis Auto Care on Yelp saw that it had 5 Star rating. At which time I called and spoke to Mike who assured me that Lewis Auto Care was certified to work on Mercedes Benz. Had my daughters vehicle towed to the location for repair. Mike called me the next day and said her car needed a new electronic steering lock and total for labor and parts would be $1,300.00. I'm like that doesn't sound correct so I called Lancaster Mercedes Benz Dealership and they quoted me $380.00 for the part and $350.00 for the labor. As I was hanging up Mike called and said that they wouldn't sell him the part because of security reason so I would have to have the dealership repair it. Mike than said, "If you want I can NEGRO RIG it". I was like huh? He was than like I can jimmy it to work for $500.00. My co-worker who was next to me explained what "NEGRO RIG" meant and I wasn't too happy. I politely declined to have the repair completed and contacted a new tow service to have my daughters vehicle taken to where I should of taken it in the first place the dealership. Once at the dealership I was told that my daughters windows were left rolled down overnight. All I'm saying is don't use this shop they lie oh and Mike also charged me get this $97.52 for a diagnostic check on my daughters car after he couldn't properly fix it. I also had to pay the dealership for another diagnostic check. Hope this helps anyone who's looking for a good repair shop to stay away from Lewis Auto Care. read more
