They're quick, kind, and always honest. I'm sure there must be repair shops out there that are just as good, but I don't think you'd be able to find one better. I recently needed a tire among some other repairs. I've purchased new tires at other shops and the cost at DJs was so much lower then I've found elsewhere. I first went to them at my friend's recommendation. She said to mention she sent me, which I did. The response I got was a friendly "oh nice!," but not the "oh really? We'll hook you up!" I expected. And then I figured out why. It really doesn't seem to matter if they've know you for 15 years or 15 minutes - they're friendly, fair, and quick to get back to work and get the job done!

A truly honest auto repair shop that did a great job on my Jeep…read more I discovered this place by accident. I brought my Jeep to Mavis for an oil change & NYS inspection. They told me my car passed but there is a loose transmission hose that is leaking fluid. Mavis doesn't work on transmissions but there is a Lee Myles down the road, great bunch of guys I'm told. I bring my Jeep in and speak with Mario. I told him there is a cracked transmission hose. I tell him I need this Jeep to be rock solid for the winter so please order the hose. The next day I received a call from Richie. He tells me the hose is in but he recommends a tranny filter service. They also noticed the lift kit I had installed has too much lift and there are driveshaft spacers needed that will correct the problem, they'll take care of it as well. The next day I get a call, they found something else that needs attention. I live close so I swung by the shop. I now have a comfort level with Richie, he shows me the valve cover gasket is starting to leak and since this Jeep is mission critical it should be replaced while the car is in the shop. Then he show me the tailpipe is also on the cusp. I tell Richie make this car rock solid, take your time and get this Jeep running like a top. I paid the bill, jumped in the Jeep and drove off. To all the mechanics that worked on my Jeep, it is running and driving amazing. Thank you

I got assistance from my co-workers to change the tire to the donut, (not cookie, as I referred to it, generating guffaws from my teammates) and was advised that I shouldn't ride on it all the way home to East Meadow. They recommended that I go to see Eric at RCM on Lakeland Avenue who welcomed me, diagnosed the problem and replaced the tire. Fast forward to yesterday when I returned to my car and found that I had another flat. (I'm thinking what you're thinking, ex-employee seeking revenge perhaps?) Nonetheless, back I go to RCM and Eric's team fixes the tire. What I like about this automotive shop is the kindness of the workers, the willingness to explain the issue, walk me thru the diagnostics, and show me the damage. The waiting room is air conditioned, has a stocked fridge, television, and recent selections of magazines including those that appeal to women. In addition, the entire shop is sparkling clean. I watched Eric blow the debris out of the shop and clean the floor for 30 minutes! Prices are fair and I never feel that I'm being taking advantage of. Woohoo! As good as it gets!

Anytime I have brought a car into Dowling brothers, they have given it back damn near perfect. I…read moredon't write a lot of Yelp reviews, but I'm posting one here because this business (and Willy) deserve it. Even if you have to wait until they can get you in, (it could be 2 weeks lead time or more) if you care about your car and want the best possible repair, it's worth it to wait for Dowling to do the work. Every car has come back looking factory, like it never happened. Couple of things I will include in addition to the quality of the work. For one, Willy and Dowling is an expert not just in repairing cars, but in dealing with insurance companies. Companies will usually low ball the estimate, leave out a bunch of parts (or specify used parts !) and send you a check for thier own amount. They are hoping you DONT repair your vehicle, and simply pocket the money. I'm sure people who really need the money more than they need the work done do exactly that, saving the insurance company half or more of the true cost of the repair. With 2 different cars, Willy and Dowling went back to the company and had them revise their estimate (which had to double) to include parts left out, or to include factory new body panels instead of used or aftermarket crap that came in damaged or didn't fit up to Dowlings standards. One more notable difference - Dowling cleans and details your car inside and out before returning it to you. It's just a nice professional touch, the last step in doing the job right. For top quality body work and service, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Even if I have to wait to get in.
