My husband was admitted but remained in the hall. They were short by 50 rooms. They changed his location to be near an electrical outlet for an EEG. The great medical staff and the patients deserve better. Shame on the administration.. Is your priority patient care or making money? The wonderful staff & patients deserve better. It looks like it's right next to the freeway, but it's actually below/behind it. The parking situation was a little confusing as a guest too - there's a big lot on on the left of the med center itself which was totally full to my eye when I came on a Tuesday in April. I wasn't sure if it was staff only so I ended up driving further away to another open lot to the southwest of the med center. I didn't see any signs indicating payment was required and I asked an EMS staff member who was hanging out there and he said it was fine for guests. There is a wellness walkway that runs around the perimeter of the hospital and I had to walk along it to get to the main entrance - I was pretty fast and it was still a 10-15 minute walk so bear that in mind. Coming inside, you check in with the guard and show your drivers license which they scan to give you a visitor's pass. The med center is basically a giant cross shape with north, south, east, and west wings so it's easy to navigate. Any staff member or security agent can give you directions to wherever you need to go. There are central elevators in the middle that take you to the inpatient area; the first floor seems pretty much all outpatient clinics, plus the ED. I could tell it was an older building, but it was clearly still functional/not in disrepair or anything. There's a decent size cafeteria in the southwest area with a good size Starbucks too - I didn't eat there but the food actually looked pretty good for a med center cafeteria. They had both hot food and pre-made things (hot and cold). I came here as a visiting medical resident so I cant comment on the healthcare services but the outpatient clinics seem nice!

I visited the allergy and immunology care and they were very helpful and the receptionist is super friendly and personable. Unfortunately, I left some medications here by accident and they were not kept, nor was I notified. I called and received no call back. So, lesson learned, don't leave anything you need there or they throw it out. I do like the level of concern and most of them smile which is nice.

During stressful moments, the staff consistently took the time to explain things clearly, check in frequently, and ensure my mother was comfortable and well cared for. It genuinely feels like the "A team" works here. The coordination between departments and the overall attentiveness of the staff make a difficult experience much easier for patients and families. It has a meditation room, library, and lounge with a piano. There is a coffee and tea bar, playroom for kids and an exercise room. It has it all plus a beautiful back patio to sit on. If you are in need of a hotel to stay at while you're a patient at UCLA make sure that you tell them that you have the surgery, because you get a discount on your stay. This hotel is clean and the beds were very comfortable. I was a little confused on how to get inside the parking structure at first I was in the wrong place. I was next-door everything on that darn street has a name Tiverton, but as long as you have a Phone to call them, they will open up the gate and let you in. Check-in was not until 3 PM but I was allowed to leave the vehicle there and you can leave your belongings there as well. I arrived at 12 noon and it was a short walk to the hammer museum. We got back around 2 PM in our room is ready.

I was able to be at my daughters bedside her whole stay at UCLA. We had Dr. Ming-Sing Si as my daughters surgeon and he was amazing. Very reassuring and made us feel comfortable about the procedure. Thank you Dr.Ming for saving my daughters life. I loved how Christmas was a priority and we were able to have my daughters Christmas tree in her room even after surgery.

I brought someone to the ER here ~ 3am due to delusions and a fear they might wander off. It's a scary and potentially dangerous situation. There was a psyche doctor available in the ER. After 30 min exam the doc assigned a room. (Any adult patient may be admitted against their will for 72 hrs if they are deemed to be a danger to either themselves or to others.) Docs can also petition the court for an add'l 14 days if more treatment needed for release. It took ~ 3wks for docs to finally identify the best cocktail of drugs to regain a lucid state, coupled of course with daily food and sleep. Nurses and docs are plentiful compared to relatively fewer number of mental patients. A high level of consideration and concern. *** I suggest Resnick for mental health. ***

None of the stress of seeing others docs in the area and running to your appointment because it took you 15 minutes to find a spot because we were too cheap to pay $20 for garage.
