The end result is chronic tension, pain in my shoulders, and headaches. I have tried chiropractors, massage, muscle relaxers, heat therapy, acupuncture, and physical therapy. Nothing has come close to the relief I have experienced with shiatsu massage. In addition, Brian addresses balancing the full body and we are working on digestive issues. For my entire life I have had stomach aches severe enough to try every medication under the sun and even surgery. Each visit we reassess and he treats me accordingly with massage and herbs. Overall, it is a custom approach responding to my body's needs at that specific point in time. FYI expect to be given "homework" in the form of stretching and strengthening exercises, meditation, diet, and herbs. Also, if you sit at a desk all day like I do, correcting posture is part of the equation. Sound like a lot to take in? It can be, but it is doable. Her touch and exploration of my trouble areas, then diving in with the solution with cupping and triggered massage was exactly what I would've done. What I experienced instead was unprofessional, disruptive, and completely unacceptable. Within the first few minutes of the session, my massage therapist abruptly left the room without explanation, returning several minutes later. Shortly after, she disappeared again--this time for even longer. Moments later, there was a knock at the door. It was a police officer instructing me to get dressed immediately. The business was being raided. According to the officer, there were issues with the establishment's paperwork. Based on the circumstances, it's hard not to question whether there were additional problems behind the scenes. Regardless, the result for me as a paying customer was the same: a completely interrupted service that was never delivered. When I went to the front desk to request a refund, I was initially refused--despite multiple police officers standing in the lobby. Only after raising my voice and firmly insisting on being reimbursed did the staff return my $70 in cash. No customer should have to argue to get their money back for a service that was clearly not provided. If this business reopens, I would strongly advise others to think twice before returning. At a minimum, customers deserve professionalism, transparency, and basic accountability. Based on this experience, Lemon Tree Massage failed on all three.
