I feel seen, heard, remembered and very well cared for by him and staff. I appreciate that Dr. Witte is ALWAYS up to date with any of "the latest" research, info, etc that comes out regarding my disease and he is ALWAYS willing to share articles, books, etc. I don't feel rushed while there, though I do know doctors are under pressure these days with all the rules/regulations they must adhere to; that has never impacted a single visit I've had at NW Gastroenterology.

While I try to downplay these appointments (having had them every three years!), they're never exactly fun and yet your team consistently makes the entire process feel comfortable and reassuring. From the kind receptionist who patiently explained the paperwork, to Mary in pre-op who took the time to walk me through everything and put me at ease, to the nurses who cared for me so warmly and seamlessly every interaction reflected genuine kindness. Even with so many patients moving through each day, your office never feels impersonal. That really stands out. I especially appreciated my doctor checking in multiple times to reintroduce himself and make sure I felt informed and comfortable. Thank you all for the compassion and professionalism you show. It truly radiates throughout your practice. And I'm especially grateful to be leaving with good news yay! I don't have to return for five whole years!

The following examination didn't hurt. Thereafter the doctor explained to me what causes problems like mine and provided advice on how to minimize and prevent future problems. To summarize: Dr Pezim was professional and respectful. If required, I would not hesitate to see him in the future.

He prescribed me an OVERKILL drug dose and always insisted that I get it from the clinic downstairs because "that's the only place that sells it". I have done my research and discovered that shopper sells it as well, for a much cheaper price. I believe I saved $15 there and it just takes just a couple hours longer for them to prepare it. Additionally, the Nifedipine he prescribed me was 0.6% potency. I read online that the typical doses prescribed to patients for this drug is 0.2%, 0.3% or 0.5%. and I'm not a doctor but I think it's common knowledge that when you start a medication, you should start at the LOWEST dose not an OVERdose. Keep in mind the higher the dose, the higher the cost. Needless to say, I personally feel like the combination of prescribing a stronger drug than need and telling me that it is only available at the pharmacy linked to his name... probably means he just wanted my money. I can't confirm that his intentions were truly for monetary gain. But it just doesn't make any sense why you would start a patient off which such a high dose. I felt horrible for the entire time that I took it. I was walking sideways with a migraine all the time and slopping over my waist as I walked. I felt like a drug addict on east Hastings (respectfully) AND he didn't tell me about the WITHDRAWAL effects of the drug. Only about the possible side effects of drowsiness and said "don't take this before you drive". Oh, thank you. If I havent heard and read enough horror stories, I may have quit the drug too late to stop myself from getting past all the withdrawal symptoms. Even with such a short amount of time, I was suffering with withdrawals. He told me to take it for months, but my heart was racing too much and too much nausea in the first 5 days of taking it. Forget it! I confronted them about why they would prescribe me such a high dose and they said "this is what we give to all our patients" so... you just drug all your patients carelessly?? And they were hesitant to even prescribe me the lower dose. They said "well, we could give you that but the effect might not work". Well, obviously it will have less effect and that is the point. You should haven't given me that in the first place.... Then increase it gradually like all the medical sites about Nifedipine have mentioned!

Instead, you have to leave a VM. Their phone number is: 425.259.3122 I was referred by my doctor (by FAX) to the above facility for an endoscopy on October 1st, 2020. My doctor sent me a letter saying if they don't call you for an appointment, I have to get them to schedule one. Nobody called me, so after waiting for one week, I called them. Their tape says I have to wait ten business days for WESTERN WA MEDICAL GROUP to contact me to schedule an appointment. After ten business days, I called every day, left VMs, and nobody called me back. Lucky me, one day, I got them during their lunchtime and was able to talk to a live person from an answering service. She was very friendly and took care of me. After talking to her the next day, a scheduler coordinator called me to schedule my consultation visit w/a doctor. I asked her why it took over 14 business days to call me back. She said they are super swamped; they get 2,000 fax referrals per day (I don't believe it). My question was, why don't you hire more people to help you? She said they are in the process of doing so. I requested to talk to her supervisor. The supervisor was not available and was supposed to call me back in 2 business days. It's two business WEEKS, and nobody called me back. How come they are still in the business is beyond me? Meanwhile, I called different gastroenterologists, talked to a live person (not a tape) got an appointment! My new GI doctor has over 100 reviews w/five stars. Western WA Medical Group doctors have three reviews of 1 star and one review of 4 stars. Unbelievable! STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO RUIN YOUR HEALTH!
