Communication was consistently slow. Emails often took far too long to receive responses, and throughout the process it felt like things were moving at their pace rather than with any urgency on my behalf. As a client, that left me feeling uncomfortable and unsupported during an already stressful process. Ultimately, the transaction did not move forward, and when it came time to address the return of my security deposit, I was especially disappointed. I did not feel that the firm advocated for me at all. I was essentially told to pursue the matter in small claims court and informed that no further assistance would be provided unless I paid additional fees. At that point, it felt less like legal representation and more like I was on my own. Overall, I did not feel represented, protected, or prioritized. Between the lack of timely communication, the slow handling of matters, and the absence of advocacy when it mattered most, I cannot recommend this firm. I will not be working with them again.

Our Family had a terrible experience with the Lama Law Firm. We hired them 2 1/2 years ago to help…read morewith setting up a Trust as well as a quit claim deed, which were suggested by them when we explained what we were looking to do. There were many casual conversations with Chiano and Nino regarding what our plans were with this property, which included the option of fixing up and selling or the possibility of building an in-law apartment on the property. He told us no problem, by doing what he suggested, we could either sell or be able to get a home equity line of credit against the property. We proceeded to do as they advised, as lawyer jargon is confusing to most non-lawyers. When all was complete, we went to the bank 6 months later to apply for a line of credit against the house. The bank informed us that there was no property listed in our names for this address. We then found out that Lama Law never submitted the paperwork to the city of Ithaca. We finally were able to get Lama to do this step, after much delay. So we then waited again for some time to pass for the paperwork to catch up. This time, we found out that the way they put this property into the trust, we had no ownership and that the trust owned the property. This topic was discussed over and over prior to our signing paperwork so there was no confusion what our plans were. We then reached out to Lama to fix this and/or modify the trust so the house was able to be either sold or have equity in it. They told us that there was absolutely no way out of this and was extremely short with us on a less that 8 minute zoom meeting. We were able to find a law firm in Syracuse that fixed all of this for us. It took spending over $3500 to do so.
