The woman hosting it was very adept at keeping everyone's attention. My only complaint was when we picked up the paintings a week later (I had paid an extra $3 per child to have the kids paint on a sturdier canvas board) the paintings had been stacked before they had dried and were horribly stuck together. I thought the point of picking them up a week later was to have them dry completely, but it seemed a bit pointless if they were ruined by stacking them on top of each other before they were dry. My husband and I salvaged them best we could picking ripped backing-paper out of the splattered paint with tweezers (two of them tore). It was embarrassing dropping them of with the kids afterwards, though none of them seemed upset by the damage.

Membership allows you to (better) seating in the lower section, closer to the speaker. Otherwise, it's first come first served seating. Lectures run about 1 and a half hours. My most recent visit was a first. A first, meaning a lecture as well as a piano recital. It was given by Jane Coop http://www.janecoop.com/biography/ The topic was Johannes Brahms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannes_Brahms Discussions were on his life, compositions, techniques of composition including variation, phrasing and a third which I can't recall at the moment. His techniques were explained and demonstrated by Jane. What I didn't know and learned: He was a fan of Johannes Strauss Jr, and composed waltzes. At the end of the lecture, a performance. Overall, another enjoyable experience.

They pick you up from your house to start your lesson and the instructor was patient and very motivating for me to do well. He helped make it comfortable when I was getting very nervous at making turns or merging (as this was the toughest for me). The instructor kept up with light conversation to keep it from being boring or making me impatient to finish up. He has many years of experience so it was helpful I am a mature student so it was a bit difficult for me as I was nervous but I couldnt have had a better instructor to help me pass! Thanks Velocity!

We drive quite a distance to make sure my numeber 2 child is in Wind and Tide. The Christian aspect worried me at first because I am pretty agnostic, but it is totally Christian lite... with no stringent requirements like kneeling at parent teacher interviews or anything (I am joking, don't get all freaked out) Anyway, the curriculum is fantastic, both my kids are better off for their time at W&T and the teachers are absolutely the best. They have other programs like Toast minors public speaking and some other ready to read programs. They have a family life aspect with gues lecturers and events for grown ups. Love it. Be warned, waiting lists for all their schools are EPIC.

Many students drive from as far as chilliwack due to the lack of classes available in the area. Most acting classes are downtown Vancouver and they are FULL. Usually an acting class can run up to 30-35 students and you're waiting all night to do your scene. Not here, the class is small so you get a chance to run your scene a few times if necessary and the intimate setting gives a sense of closeness and trust. Classes are $200 monthly and the end of the month you bring your SD card and do on camera work. It would be really great to get back into my creative bag and delve into some scene work, for fun. I recommend this as a friendly environment for beginners and intermediate alike. Sherry is a working actor so she knows the ins and outs of the business's and has close contacts with some casting directors and agents in the lower mainland.

My son Giuliano attended Kensington Montessori when he was 4 years old, where he was taught by Mrs…read more Athina. From the moment we walked into her classroom, it was clear how much care and dedication she put into creating a nurturing and structured learning environment. Her classroom was always neat, organized, and filled with engaging educational materials, hands-on activities, and books that supported each child's development. There were many children Giuliano's age, and it was so comforting to see how happy and excited they were to be there each day. My son truly enjoyed going and developed a love for learning early on. Mrs. Athina took the time to guide him not only academically--with early arithmetic--but also with important life skills like sharing, independence, and responsibility. Through her support, Giuliano built confidence and strong foundational skills that I am still grateful for today. I am also so proud to see her daughter, Marisa Dritsas, continue this beautiful legacy. Her Montessori classroom is absolutely stunning--bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed with natural materials and child-sized learning spaces that encourage independence and exploration. The outdoor area is just as lovely, giving children space to play, learn, and connect with nature. Marisa is calm, patient, and genuinely caring. She goes above and beyond to support each child's individual needs and learning pace. The Montessori approach is truly reflected in her work--fostering independence, creativity, and confidence in every child. I highly recommend Kensington Montessori to any parent looking for a warm, supportive, and enriching environment for their child's early education.
