I've been smoking a pipe for decades. I bought my first pipe at the Tinder Box in La Mesa, and…read morelater would drop by the Tinder Box in Santa Monica to sample new tobaccos. All of these are gone now. But Palm Springs still has a Tinder Box, and along with a well stocked humidor, they have a good range of pipes, pipe accessories, and tobaccos. This is a rare and wonderful thing and I will support them as much as possible. They are also the best place in the Valley for cigars. Prices are high, but that's not their fault. California taxes all tobacco products indiscriminately, so while rightfully trying to drive people to not smoke cigarettes, they have also destroyed the market for premium cigars and pipe tobacco. I'm happy that the Tinder Box is still around, and right down the street. Give them some support if you can.

Their website is inaccurate. Very inaccurate. Says they have stuff they do not have. So be aware…read more The guard and the budtender both very friendly. I told the budtender what I wanted. The taxes are included with website price, so that's a plus. He bagged up my purchase and like an idiot, I didn't look in the bag. He didn't put in what I asked for. I ended up with the wrong stuff. Lessons learned: Don't trust their online menu, maybe call to check what's actually in stock instead. Check your bag before you leave the store.

I'm so glad this smoke shop is under new management! The difference is noticeable from the moment…read moreyou walk in. The new owner is friendly, welcoming, and has excellent communication skills. He genuinely seemed happy to be there and excited to take over the business, which made the whole experience much more enjoyable. My previous experiences here weren't the best because communication was difficult, but that's no longer an issue. The customer service now is outstanding, and you can tell they truly care about their customers. I'll definitely be coming back they have variety and the prices are very reasonable. I would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone looking for great service and a welcoming atmosphere. Wishing the new owner continued success!
