When we discovered Accent Flooring in Brooksville, FL. it appeared that we had found the perfect…read moreflooring company. Their selection and quality of flooring was better that most others. They worked with us as we struggled through the task of picking the flooring for our great room, dining room and bedroom. They told us that as long as they did the measuring and installation that any mistakes made were on them and not us. Obviously, we had them measure, order and install the required amount of flooring. As with any project where you purchase product by cartons and not individual pieces, we were aware that there would be a few pieces left over; which we wanted just in case in the future we needed to repair an area. The next step was to set up a time for the installation. We set up three days which were completely clear on their calendar assuring that once the job was started, and nothing unexpected happened, the job would be completed on time. We then made arrangements to leave so they had the house to themselves and we were out of the mess. That was a mistake. Before I continue, I want to say that the installers did a great job. The installation was to start on a Tuesday at 9am, ending around noon on Thursday. Accent was terrible at project management. We had our neighbor watch when the installers arrived and left. The first day they were two hours late, the second day they were five and half hours late and the last day two and a half hours late. That is a total of 10 hours that Accent sent the installers to other job sites, not ours. On Thursday we arrived home about 10:30am expecting the job to be close to completion. To our amazement the job was not even close to being finished. When I inquired as to what happened the installers said since we were not home Accent had a couple other projects that needed completion and they were sent to those and told to ignore our timeframe. When Accent was questioned their answer was it was not their fault and the job would be completed by Thursday sometime. Yes, it was, 8:30 in the evening. Accent thought we were over reacting to their inability to complete the project in the agreed upon time. They refused to take ownership of their screwups. Completely unacceptable. When the project was finally completed there were two cartons of flooring remaining. As said before, we wanted some left over so we kept one carton and the other we took back to Accent. Accent was surprised that we brought back a carton. They asked what they were to do with it and we said send it back; you ordered too much. They put up a small argument saying they do not send flooring back but finally did take it. After all, they ordered too much and we were not about to pay for something they ordered and we could not use. Even though Accent has a great selection of quality flooring we advise to steer clear. But if you do use them, we advise you get in writing exactly when the job will begin and end including the hours each day, they will be on-site. Insist the installers arrive on time and that they do not leave during the day except for lunch. Make sure you have in writing that unopened excess materials they order can be returned with no question. It is doubtful we will ever use Accent again.

My experience was completely different. I wanted new flooring in my master bedroom with new baseboards and asked for new baseboards only in the bathroom to freshen it up. Well the day of the install the guys didn't arrive till 11am about two hours late. I felt like he was rushing the entire time. At 6pm when he was done I went in to check and the flooring looked great but the baseboards were all 5 inches, did not ask for that and that is not what I have in my home. I can overlook that but the baseboards were dull, scuffed and black fingerprints on them. I asked the guy are you going to clean them and why are they not white. He looked at me and said "You have to paint them." Why would I pay thousands of dollars to get on my hands and knees to paint baseboards. I sent Mike the salesperson and email with 10 pictures and the next day he calls and says I'm sorry I didn't tell you that our customers paint their own baseboards. That is not true because at my friends house I observed a young guy painting the baseboards. Mike said he would talk to the owner. Two weeks later he calls and says we can come out and paint the nail holes. I told him no thanks, it should have been done right the first time. I also questioned why no product was left behind, not even one plank of flooring. He claimed it was damaged and they would order me two more boxes and hand deliver it. No surprise, its a month and a half later, he never called and no product. I would say shop around and ask the right questions, otherwise you get crappy work and you spend money to only have to complete the project on your own. I should have went somewhere else.

Shortly after purchasing the home we needed to re-floor the 3,000 sqft. We have always had good+ credit however after applying for a credit line at both Lowe's and Home Depot, Home Depot approved us. We spent about $5,000 the floors still look fantastic 8 years later and paid that card off many times over. Every appliance light fan you name it has been purchased at Home Depot. Im a 50+ year old dude I like to do my own landscaping and gardening since I don't go to the gym I trick myself into thinking this is my work out. The property is just under 1 acre. I push mow pull weeds ect. After my 15 year old Honda mower finally needed to be replaced I went into the garden area that when I met Sue. We talked I told her about the property and Sue helped me into the 2020's I purchased my first 40v battery mower a weed eater edger rototiller and bush wacker. Sues advice was don't store the batteries in the garage so they charge in my living room MUCH to my wife's protest. Last week I finally ran out of string on my weed wacker I foolishly took the head off instead of going to that "you.." site with all the videos. I learned quickly that was a mistake. I struggled for a couple days trying to get it back together but I just don't have that grip strength anymore. I went into yesterday ready to buy a whole new attachment but after talking with Sue she said bring it in I'll help you. I was back in a jiffy. Sue and I both tried but Sue paged a young man I believe Noel who came over and snapped it together in 2 minutes then Sue showed me the proper way to restring the dang thing. I couldn't help but give her a hug and shake Noel's hand after playfully griping his biceps. It's not often a big box store makes you feel like a friend but Sue and the rest of the garden appliances and lighting really do. My salesman Bill flooring consultant was great, educated about flooring, friendly, very accommodating, nicest guy you will ever meet. Thought customer service was gone forever, what a pleasant surprise. Once I purchased the flooring and the labor to install it though the nightmare began. Communication immediately broke down the first contact ( a text not an actual phone call ) I received from USIG. was told they would call me to set up an appointment that is convenient for me. Nope got a text, the beginning of my problems with them. I'm disabled along with my wife, we have many daily challenges and doctor appointments to contend with. USIG texted me with an appointment at their convenience I said No. Then I get a phone call "So You Want To Cancel The Appointment? " First words spoken to me, REALLY? I said NO and the nightmare gets going. Needless to say USIG THEY ARE HORRIBLE AT COMMUNICATING, EXPLAINING, GETTING BACK TO YOU, DOING THE JOB CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME, COMING BACK AND LEAVING THE JOB UNFINISHED, unbelievable... After they didn't do the job right and I had to complain and send pics to them showing the incompetent job their installers did, I waited a week with no response had to text them again to get a response. Here I sit with the flooring job worse than the initial install and I will never allow USIG into my home again! Do Not let HOME DEPOT con you into using them. They arrive late, typical, after two hours they go to lunch for an hour, I had a doctor appointment left for an hour came back and they had half the laminate flooring going the wrong direction. Needless to say they had to redo it and tried to give me the excuse you don't have enough flooring left... Really? I have a full box left surprising because they made 20 trips in and out slamming my door to fill their van with every piece they cut and didn't use. USIG did what they wanted to do, didn't ask what direction, didn't speak to their boss or ignored him, the boss and I discussed it beforehand way before they installed it and he said that's not a problem. Oh wait no communication again and well, you two speak Spanish and or Portuguese especially amongst yourselves when you don't want me to understand what you are saying. Yes was told one person will speak fluent English this is the USA after all, If I lived in Germany and worked with the public I would learn German just saying. And every time I came in to check their work the Brazilian was on his phone looking at pictures, trying to learn how to install flooring. on Youtube I assume... Really? USIG hires anyone apparently. has a contract with Home Depot this is a huge big box store. The assistant manager and floor coordinator tell me this doesn't happen very often... they will fix it. Nope they will never set foot in my home again period. MEANWHILE LIFE GOES ON, I SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS $$$$ WITH NO WARRANTY COVERAGE on this, with trim that is messed up and cut up in pieces, flooring unfinished in my closet, glue showing on my brand new LVP. When they walked out, the unprofessional floor installers Jay & Danilo if that's their real names, never showed identification, they didn't say they were done, I had to chase them out the door to speak to them, they said they were done sign this paper, unbelievable. yeah the BOSS said they were done and to leave. Again communicaton Zero, Nope Not Signing Anything!!! Get out of my house and never come back. Did I mention we are disabled? they moved a cabinet and never put it back. Communication Zero was told they would move 5 pieces as long as no personal belongings were inside. Wanted to charge me $300 to move the bed, I had the plumber move that for us after removing the toilet. If you read this far Thank You, NEVER LET USIG DO WORK IN YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS. DON'T LET Home Depot STEER YOU TO THEM, Run! Of course I have no warranty on this unfinished job USIG is the warranty holder and certified repairman.
