They were able to complete our living room, hallway, and large bedroom in a couple of days. The work completed was good. The walls were painted with precision; a few areas that needed caulking were smoothly sanded out. It looks fresh and new now. If you're looking for painting to be done, I highly recommend them!

We are disappointed in the result and believe that we were overcharged. We are still waiting for a refund for an overpayment error of the final check. We were told that the job would take 5 or 6 days. Based on a regular working day of 7 to 8 hours, the contracted price was high, but based on a recommendation, we hired DC Painting. Danny and his son were never here more than 5 hours/day. When we saw that two sides of the barn were "prepped and primed" in 5 hours, we asked how the price had been determined. Hourly? Square footage? No satisfactory answer was given. Instead, Danny said he tells anyone who asks his hourly rate to find another painter. We wish we had. We have nothing against a business making a profit, but for the 54 hours DC Painting was here, we were charged $111/ hour for each painter, more than a master painter is expected to make in the state of Connecticut. Prep work was minimal at best. Areas of the barn siding that should have been sanded weren't. Areas of the barn siding are missing stain. The window was not glazed, and the paint was not removed from the panes of glass after the paint dried. We were charged an additional $200 for the window. Perhaps if Danny didn't "paint three to four times faster than other painters," as he told us, we would have been more satisfied with the result. The one star is for the fact that they are polite and neat.

When he completed the job I told him it didn't seem that he used enough of the flaking product and he handed me a bag and said I could add more. when I refused he reluctantly added more but later blamed issues on the fact that he added more flaking at my request. They were professional and really pleasant to work with from start to finish. Right from the first phone call, Brad provided excellent customer service, taking time to answer all my questions and concerns and letting me know what would be covered in the job. He included information on types of paint, compounds, brushes, etc. - a lot of attention to detail that goes beyond just putting paint on the wall. It was extremely helpful to understand the process and to be informed on how long things would take approximately. Brad also gave great suggestions on testing the colors beforehand, recommending high-quality paint so that it would last for years and resist stains. We were thoroughly satisfied with the results. He was also able to meet our agreed-upon timeline and we were able to make our move-in date. And one last added benefit we received from choosing Bradley Forbes and Sons, we learned several different things about our older home that we would not have known otherwise. Almost like an archeologist, Brad discovered under layers of paint, wallpaper intact from the 1940s, with a small village scene depicted. It was a treasure. We decided to incorporate it into the look of our home and frame it, to highlight the history of our home. Brad brought more than expected, with his expertise in painting and his knowledge on several aspects of the house painting process, it created an overall satisfying experience. This confirmed our decision that it was well worth the investment to have our home professionally painted. Not only do we have a house well painted, but one step beyond, along the way we gained invaluable knowledge and insight into our home. Thank you.

I regret it. Our deck looks terrible. We asked him to sand it down and paint it. He sanded it on a drizzly day- which was a red flag #1. He then used a sprayer on a day that was super windy- causing overspray to go on my plants and surrounding mulch. He got paint on our outdoor solar lights and didn't use any type of paint thinner to get it off- simply said- yeah the sun baked that in. He added $100 to the cost of the job saying he needed extra paint for another coat yet there are spots where he only did one coat and we still have 3/4 of a gallon of paint left!!!! He replaced two spindles with ones that were 4 inches two short- so while they worked to fill in the gap between the base and railing they were not even with the rest of them. When I called him on it he said that was the only size they had!?!? Why he didn't order the right size and advise us that there might be a delay is beyond me. He also managed to get paint on our light fixtures. On the final day of his work he said he was done and one side of the spindles on a 1/3 of the porch hadn't even been painted. We had to call him back 2x more and finally got so frustrated we just told him he could leave and it was fine. Worst part is the paint is already bubbling and it's been only been 3 days since he finished. Never offered any discount.
