Quick update/5 stars for this particular experience: I needed a reed variety pack/mix card because…read moreI'm trying to figure out what strength and kind I want. After looking at woodwind stores closer to me and online, none of the other stores had the 4 pack I was looking for. Q&F not only had the 4-pack, but it was less than Amazon (and the other shops) sell the 3-pack version for. I wasn't going to spend $10 on shipping so I opted for store pickup and figured I'd drive out there when I had other errands to run in the area. They sent me a text letting me know they were getting it from their warehouse and then about 4-5 business days laters I got a call that it was ready for pickup. Super easy.

I've been a customer of Quinlan and Fabish going on seven years with two kids in their violin…read morerental program. It has been a such a gift. Our first child started violin through the school and Quinlan and Fabish were there at the welcome night. We decided to go with them and we rented our child's violin through them for years. What's great about their program is that they keep track of how much you are putting towards the instrument rental and then, if your child gets serious down the road, that money is banked as a credit towards buying an instrument. After several years it felt like a good idea to invest in an instrument for our older child. There was a Black Friday sale and we could use our credit so it seemed like a great move. I bought the instrument but I was able to pay for it on a monthly basis, just like the rental, however, I owned it. But they would also help out with any repair or support we would need if there was a problem. It felt great when the violin was paid for! It felt like an accomplishment to pay it off and an investment into the music education of our kid. When the second child wanted to play violin too, it again made sense to choose Quinlan and Fabish. It remains to be seen if our second kid will continue in orchestra, but what's great about the rental program is that we haven't made a large purchase of an instrument. The rental is convenient for us. Additionally, our second kid broke his violin twice. He has needed to replace it twice. Um, embarrassing much? Quinlan and Fabish happily took the broken rental violin and replaced it, no big deal. What a relief! Highly recommend Quinlan and Fabish! Also, you can buy things from them (stands, shoulder rests, etc) over the phone and they will drop them off at your child's school. Super helpful for busy families.

Aso a Great Music School for Adults!…read more I started taking voice lessons from Jennifer about two years ago. Although I had some music background, I really didn't know anything about singing and she patiently brought me from not knowing chest voice and head voice to being able to confidently sing throughout my entire range. There were times I really struggled with understanding singing and Jennifer was always patient and encouraging. And I get to spend some time each lesson working on singing any song I'd like to work on. That's fun! I play keyboards and guitar in some local bands, and sing backup, and I've gotten a lot of feedback about how much my singing has improved since I started taking lessons from Jennifer. I feel like my lessons with her are my secret weapon for getting really good at singing! I thought that music schools were mainly geared towards children, but the quality of instruction was way more than adequate for learning voice as an adult and helping me with the singing I currently do professionally. I definitely recommend the Schaumburg School of Music in general, and Jennifer in particular, to anyone who wants to learn an instrument or learn or develop their singing voice. Even people who already sing professionally!

Horrible place.Purchased a gift certificate for 4 lessons and was only able to schedule 3 out of…read morethe 4 because apparently they have a policy of one lesson a week that they don't inform you about from the beginning. Called and talked to Marjorie and she had the audacity to ask me if I'm looking for a free class? No I'm looking for a class I already paid for. Seems like in this place the rules change based on who you're talking to and could be different from one person to another. Just a horrible experience all together. We we looking to purchase more classes for our daughter but based on how Marjorie handled this situation we will take our business somewhere else.

Awesome people to do business with. No B.S., Wayne is very dry and straight to the point. I walked…read morein there off the street over 20yrs ago and instantly knew I had stumbled onto a secret Goldmine of guitars and amps. I've bought many many guitars from them over the years at extremely fair prices. Wayne is very fair and doesn't try to compete with CME, or GC, he tells it exactly like it is. It's like walking into an old hardware store or Auto shop. If you come in looking for something or for advice , they'll take care of you and you are welcome to hang out. If you come in with an entitled, woke attitude, go back to GC or BK and have it your way, nobody needs you there to ruin our vibe. Wayne, Tom, and even Rich when he's around have always been nothing but professional to the customers. The instrument selection is exactly as advertised. The best used, affordable instruments around. Dent, dings, yes. Great guitars and amps, absolutely. I currently own 4 Gibson Les Pauls and 2 ES-335's that I got great deals on from Wayne and that I never could afford new or from GC. Check it out for yourself. Ignore the 1 star-3 star crybabies. Actual working musicians, some famous , some not, go there repeatedly. Rant Over! Wayne's the best.

There are a few places you will find in life that are magical and special and Midwest is one of them, Wayne's patience, generosity, knowledge and kindness are second to none. Go check it out, you will be glad you did, You may see us there, my son will be trying every single distortion pedal in turn and I will digging through the odds and ends that no one else is interested in, the weirder the better. I absolutely love this place. PS: out of curiosity I read some of the negative reviews. In you younger days (when I had copious free time) I used to hang around the place. The people who were unhappy he would haggle or buy x or y, are being overly sensitive. It is a finite amount of space, he needs to move product, he is alway candid, I bought a drum kit there to sell a few months ago, he was upfront and said he didn't handle them unless they were certain brands or vintage, no hard feelings. I have made him offers on items to have him turn them down, again, never mean or insulting. I have never seen him be anything other than a class act. He isn't going to buy things he can't sell, he isn't a charity, nor is he going to give things away. I have had dozens of friends and family buy instruments and equipment here and all of them left very happy.
