We have a rescue dog we adopted from the Carson City Humane Society last year as a 4 month old pup…read more We had yet to set up a new Veterinarian office. Well I noticed she had a little unpleasant discharge. Knowing this is not normal, we called around and found this office has Urgent Care appts for non-life-threatening situations. I was already pretty sure what she had but also knew she needed antibiotics to get rid of it. I was able to catch a clean urine sample right before we left to rule out any UTI. Now our Sushi girl was ready to go and a 2 town away drive. Once upon arriving, this place is huge! Really clean once and very nice inside. Very nice Employees to help along the way. Once checked in, we were taken back and talked with a very sweet Vet Tech. Now the Veterinarian comes in, Dr Dalton Pils and plops right down on the floor. Sushi is loving all over him while he gets a good assessment on her. They take her back and run a few tests which were included in the original ER charge. Results came back as to what I had originally thought it was. Antibiotics and steroids for 10 days. They gave her chewables, and not again lol. I had to hide chewables in cheese lol. I have a picky pup lol. I highly recommend Dr Pils if you have to go to Urgent Care and can pick your Vet. He really reminds me of the Vet we left when we moved here from SETX.

Dr. Mannan took the time to explain everything, ensuring we understood every aspect of our beloved dog's condition. I highly recommend Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital, and I would choose them again and again. We traveled from Dayton for a second opinion, and although the news wasn't what we had hoped, I'm grateful for the experience. Dr. Mannan's kindness, gentleness, and genuine concern for our pet's well-being shone through. The office staff showed immense kindness during my difficult time. The prices were well worth the drive, especially considering Dayton quoted three times more for the same service. It's truly remarkable. This hospital is state-of-the-art, and I would be honored to bring any future pets here. Although we're not ready for another pet just yet, after having to say goodbye to two dogs in one year. Thank you again, Kymm and Miranda Gibbons RIP My beloved buddies for life !! Tank and Sammy Gibbons

They have moved and shuffled their entire days around to get my animals' needs met. Even our python, Jimmy, was rehabilitated here with so much care. Every time I go there, miss Laurie knows me and my animals and smiles when she sees us. Minus the snake, but that's fair. The vet techs accept him ;) They're just a great group of people that really want to rise above and do the right thing for people and their animals. Especially the front desk staff, Dr Kidder, and Dr B. I think you guys are all awesome.

After spending $6,000, every single follow-up was only with technicians--never the vet. I was charged for four separate sets of x-rays, yet not once did anyone go over the results with me. At the final visit, they tried to charge me an additional $538 for an x-ray I had already paid for. On top of that, they kept my dog there for over 9.5 hours for what should have been a simple follow-up x-ray. When I called to check in, I was told they don't call owners until pets are ready to go home. I asked why it was taking so long, and they said emergencies pushed my dog back. If that was the case, why not reschedule instead of keeping her locked up for nearly 10 hours? This clinic clearly cares more about money than the well-being of the animals. I will never recommend Sierra Vet to anyone. HORRIBLE place, with absolutely no compassion for pets or their owners.

Given his recent trauma of being in a carrier when I flew with him from Portland (Oregon) to Reno, I did not want to stress him out by placing him in a carrier to see a veterinarian in a traditional clinic. I received instructions from Battleborn to secure my cat in a bathroom. Dr. Matt and Tannier were punctual and very professional. They showed wonderful kindness towards my cat - he did not meow at all when they trimmed his nails, and retrieved urine/blood from him for lab work. It was worth every penny to have a house visit - minimal stress for my new fur baby.

Every single one I have called in my area told me that they are not accepting new clients, so I would call back every 6 months or so, same story. I was finally referred to BBMV. My elderly cat needed a quality of life check and my other two terrors simply needed a wellness check. Taking all 3 to a vet office is such a hassle (one pees as soon as she sees the carrier and one poops in the carrier on the way to the vet and the way home). BBMV's vet tech Heather, was super responsive to all my messages and answered all my questions. They were able to get me into the schedule within 2 weeks, which I thought was totally acceptable given I was a new client and had 3 cats to see at the same time. Dr. McSweeney and Heather showed up slightly early, but were very kind and gentle with my cats. He was very thorough and explained all possibilities and treatment options. I ended up having to allow my eldest girl over the rainbow bridge during the appointment and Dr. McSweeney and Heather were amazing. They gave me all the time I needed before and after the injection. They treated my little girl with the respect and love she deserved. While I did not enjoy the appointment, it was nothing that Dr. McSweeney did. I would 100% recommend him. The $120 travel price was totally worth is for me, and the remaining costs that were charged were actually less than what I would have been charged at the local vet office. My total bill was just about the same as it would have been if I had gone to the local vet office, and in the end my kitties were less traumatized and my little girl got to say goodbye in her own home.
