Never again, no acknowledgment or apologies even for not fulfilling their commitment to deliver on the 14th. Just excuses.

Merna herself replied that she was awaiting the florist to come in, so I thanked her and sent her the pictures so she knew I wasn't just fishing. I worked in a florist for years so I know it's not easy. Well I really didn't expect the response I got from her "She went way over the value of the bouquet as she is a great florist and wanted to make the bouquet fook fuller. Now I wish she had not bothered and just sent the gerbera. As you worked in a florist you will know about the costs of making a bouquet" As I said, I worked in a florist. It can be frustrating to speak to customers about the value and costs. It isn't easy by any means, but no one should be spoken to in that manner. I wish I hadn't bothered ordering from here.

They must do a bit of their own propagation too as the place has that lovely smell of fresh peat and damp greenery.

I was just going to write that it's like an oasis of greenery in an otherwise grey city, and then recalled that the name is in fact Oasis, but as cheesy as it is that is in fact what it is like. I love that they've added the deli portion because it gives you a chance to really soak in the loveliness of all the products and to really relax and have a moment of zen. The garden centre almost doubles in size during the summer and opens extra hours too (closed Sundays in winter). A nice place to wander around on a Saturday afternoon, I very much enjoy it.

The bouquets range from simple clusters of staid chrysanthemums or colourful Dutch tulips wrapped in white paper, to extravegant arrangements of red roses and lillies. My favourites are the huge, bright yellow sunflowers, their raised heads expressing a kind of floral pride. The bouquets here may not be the fanciest in town, but they are certainly the cheapest. Buying from the flower sellers not only guarantees you fresh, beautiful blooms, but keeps up a Grafton Street tradition in times when department stores, the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, threaten to eclipse the essence of what the city once was.
