DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY OR CHEF ELIPHE RICHARD DESNOYERS…read more In May 2025 we booked a Personal Chef Dinner (a 60th Birthday for 8 people on August 3 in Magog, Quebec) with Chef Richard. The communication was good, we confirmed a menu plan, arrival and made a $587.38 deposit to secure the event. On July 24, 2025, ten days prior to the booking date, Chef Richard emailed me and cancelled the event. He stated due to unforeseen circumstances he would have to cancel. No reason was given or an offer to refund our deposit. I emailed back immediately and requested the return of our deposit and if he had any suggestions for another Chef as he had left us in a difficult situation. He did not respond but the next day we noticed a "PENDING" refund from The Perfect Plate showing on our online VISA account. It wasn't until the following month we discovered that the refund was never processed and to date we have not had the funds returned on our credit card. After several communication attempts via email and phone, Chef Richard Desnoyers has not responded to us or returned our deposit. It is very sad that a business and a Chef operates in this manner that they would keep money that they did not earn. We have started a credit card dispute with VISA and will be warning all future or potential clients that this company and Chef is not trustworthy.
