OMG I had to write this review because I am still SHOCKED at this doctor's refusal to see me as a…read morepatient. I just moved to OK from the Northeast and I need a primary physician. When I called for an appointment, the office asked what meds I am taking and I told them HRT, nothing else I am healthy. The office said that they would check with the doctor and get back to me about an appointment (confusing, but I guess it is the Oklahoma way to do things) Well the office got back to me to say that the doctor would not take me on as a patient because of the medications I'm taking! I never asked for a medicine refill, (I don't need one) I've never used a primary doctor in place of an OB doctor. I explained to the woman on the phone that I already have an OBGYN doctor and that I need a Primary Care Physician and nope, they didn't seem to care. Is his refusal even legal? There are a ton of doctors out there, I'll find one, in the meantime my suggestion to Dr. Campbell is that he retake his oath!

LOL; literally LAUGHING OUT LOUD. This office is a joke. They shut down their office in Altus (no…read morebig deal, I'll come every 10 weeks to get my initial shot; as explained to them) but the LAST DAY their Altus office was supposed to be open they decided to make a FACEBOOK post (because you know we're all on FB first thing in the morning) to let patients know that their offices would be closed due to severe flooding (okay fair) HOWEVER, they contacted no other patients other than those with appointments as if the rest of us are just unimportant. So I made a comment on their Facebook post (an angry one; rightfully so) and mind you, they had not made a post on this FB since February 19, 2025. So they don't actually utilize this FB in the way they're pretending they do. So, instead of addressing my concerns; which I was rude, I was mean, but you gave no communication to any other patients other than scheduled ones (again, going back to the LACK OF CARE FOR PATIENTS) but then today May 8, 2025 I receive a letter in the mail (handwritten btw by Dr.Dale Smith himself) that they will no longer see me as a patient because of my FB response to them. As proof, please see all the photos attached. You guys should be ABSOLUTELY ASHAMED AND EMBARRASSED of yourselves. I however, am not. Have a wonderful and lovely year.

I just want to THANK YOU, Dr Brian Birdwell and your excellent staff!…read moreI have never seen a doctor care for his patients as much as you do, even made a house call when I was unable to get to the clinic. And when I do get to the clinic, I am never rushed thru my appointment so the doctor can move on to his next patient. He takes the time to find out everything that is happening in my life, and makes sure all my prescriptions are up to date so I'm never without my medication. I have been a patient of Dr Birdwell for a good number of years, my mother was also a patient of his until she passed away in March 2013. I cannot imagine changing doctors for any reason. No other doctor would take the time and effort he spends on each of his patients. Again, THANK YOU Dr Birdwell and your staff, thank you.

Kelly (nurse) took my vitals and asked all the new patient questions. She is such a kind, warm person! I felt as though I was talking to a friend! Then Katherine (nurse practitioner) entered the room with a big smile! She spent an hour and forty five minutes with me and was incredibly down to earth and thorough! I still can't believe the amount of care I received at this appointment. I can honestly say I have never experienced a doctor's visit like this one. Katherine actually listened to me in such a concerned and caring way. When I mentioned I had chest pains a few weeks ago she immediately ordered an EKG. Within minutes Kelly came in and ran the tests which showed no problems with my heart. What a relief! NO charge for the test! Unbelievable!!! I will recommend this clinic and Katherine to everyone! If you do not have insurance and need QUALITY healthcare this is the place to go!!!!

From the moment he walked in the room I knew he didn't want to do it. The way he worded his questions and kept talking about medicines to try instead, I told him I'm set on this I don't want to try anymore medications. He plainly said he would not do it, so I said F you I'm leaving. I was so upset I cried in my car. I am an extremely kind person to note everyone but him in his office was kind. I'm still fuming, I don't write reviews but I read the reviews for this doctor ands they seemed ok for the most part but were far wrong. Don't go to this doctor if you don't have children or want them because he is an old white man who thinks he knows what's best for our bodies.

It was pushed fast and I had a severe panic attack. I left with no surgery. In the meantime, the infection in my sinus became severe enough that i was sent to OU ER and to my PCP to get a higher level of care. Surgery was rescheduled for April 29, 2026. Although i was not given Reglan this time, my care at DRH was still concerning. My husband was told he would get text messages throughout the surgery. We verified with 2 people that the correct number was on file. He never got one text, he reported it to the volunteers and was still never given updates. The volunteer kept telling he would get a text but made no effort to find out why surgery was taking so long or how i was. Surgery was 4 hours long. After surgery he was not given any information about how my surgery went. It was not until 2 days later when I was able to log into the patient portal, that i was able to see Dr notes that explained everything. Then on May 15 I sent a message to patient relations with my concerns and was told i would receive a letter in the mail. I did so about a week later telling me that they in fact did send several texts. case closed. So I sent another email to patient relations explaining that something is faulty with the system because he did NOT get a text and that i'm also upset the the complaint about how the medicine was administered incorrectly, was not even addressed in the letter. That was 2 weeks ago and I have not received any response. So now my complaint is about Patient relations, it should be renamed as hospital relations, as it is only defending the hospital and not advocating for the patient.
