After talking with Leo on the phone I brought my wife's bicycle frame to his shop to have bottom bracket bearings pressed in. Not exactly the type of work he does but he has the tooling to do the job properly. I do not. I showed him what I wanted to have done and he accepted the job. He understood perfectly what to do and was able to press in the bearings while I waited. Excellent job and at a fair price. Certainly will recommend his services to my cyclist friends who may need his experience. read more

Leo's Machine Shop - Machine Shops Near Me - Chula Vista, California

Needed both upper ball joints to be pressed in while doing a front end rebuild. Not only was he super understanding, he took care of it asap so I didn't have to make 2 trips out to the shop. Super cool guy who knows his stuff and didn't charge me an arm and a leg for it. All around great service! read more

Disappointed; he runs a machine shop and won't help me with my starter motor that has a few bad threads in one of the mounting holed. Any machine shop should have a tool and die set or thread chaser to fix threads. read more

One unfortunate late evening while in a hurry to finish up some maintenance I over torqued a bolt causing the threads to shear clean off inside a part i was reinstalling. I was devastated as the part was not cheap. I decided to put a halt to my efforts that night and call it a day. The next morning i called Leo's machine shop and was informed that they would take a look at my situation but made no promises. After some further discussion Leo decided he would help me out. Not even an hour later after taking me up on my request, i received a phone call letting me know my part was ready for pick up. I picked the part up and reinstalled it with no issues later that day. Overall, I had a great experience. The shop is a bit hidden behind some other buildings but was not hard to find. Leo was very approachable and accommodating to my situation. I will 1000% recommend this shop to anyone! read more

Would've have Leo's a 10. To bad 5 is the highest. Leo jr and his pops are awesome people. Very communicative on what's going down with your items you bring in for machining. Quality of work is phenomenal. To bad they're not in my neck of the woods cause I'll be there all day everyday... Leo's machine shop, you guys rock brotha!!! read more

Called in for some welding help and they don't actually do welding but gave me contacts for nearby shops to help me out. The job I have is minutes of work so hardly a profit but Leo's still tried to help out. Also told me if they don't work out to keep calling back and Leo's would try to help find someone else. Didn't get any work done by these people but I can appreciate the fact that they try to help out the community. Nothing but respect, wish more people like this existed. Thanks! read more

Great price to resurface my old Jeep's cylinder head. Fast, excellent work.

Great experience. Had to get the head of my 3.8L 2007 Dodge Caravan. I spoke to Leo Jr. and he offered to do the work for $70 or $140 with a pressure test after the machining. They had it had in less than 24 hours and Leo Jr. was very professional and courteous. I would highly recommend them to anyone read more

If I could give 6 stars I would. Price was excellent but the service is unbeatable. Did fantastic work, gave me plenty of advice on parts they weren't even working on, didn't try to upsell anything and gave a good honest opinion. Will definitely be using them again! read more

Leo was Prompt to response to my yelp inquiry on a Sunday. They were able to get me in next day and completed the work in a timely manner. They were very accommodating and the price was unbeatable. Will return to Leo's in the future. read more

Leo did a great job. He answered all my questions and walked me through what he was recommending and why. Leo repaired my cylinder head that had a bent valve and was cheaper than other shops I called for estimates. Delivering the repaired cylinder head after repairs were complete, I have no complaints with a wonderful experience! I recommend him to anyone that asks me about machine work. Keep up the great work guys! read more

Great guys & great work! A neighbor of mine turned me on to Leo's Machine Shop years back, and I've been going to Leo's ever since for brake rotor machining, and had a valve job done by Leo Sr. as well. Both Leo Sr. and Leo Jr. are friendly & professional, and do quality work at affordable prices. I highly recommend Leo's for any machining work you need! read more
