After a lengthy search for a new sofa we thought we had found the one we wanted at a different store. On a whim we wandered into Leon's a few weeks ago and quickly changed our minds. We found a sofa with the help of a non-pushy sales person, that we like more than the one at the other store. The added bonus? The price tag on this one was about $500 less than the first one. The sales person we dealt with was professional and friendly without being pushy. He happily ran around the store for us looking for things, looking up prices etc without batting an eyelash. Sure, he may be out for commission however we never once felt obligated, or like we were being pushed. Delivery was free, which is great given the hoops we had to jump through. They do the typical "we'll be there between 12-6" and "Oh, you work and won't be home? If we call you an hour beforehand couldn't you leave work for an hour or two to meet us there?" Um, no. After several phone calls back and forth delivery was finally arranged. Our sofa was dropped off and set up, all mess cleaned up. When they left you'd never have known they were there. We've had the sofa home for a couple weeks now and are still just as happy with our purchase. In the future I would absolutely consider purchasing from Leon's again. read more

We purchased a dining set from Leon's only to discover when it was delivered that they only assemble the table. The chairs are left for the purchaser assemble the chairs. I called the the customer service and was told that I should have PURCHASED the assembly package. This is just a money grab on Leon's part. You would figure if you're purchasing the whole set it would all be assembled. Also the crew that delivered the set brought no tools to assemble it. I probably would have purchased the assembly package IF I HAD BEEN TOLD ABOUT IT. Customer Care wouldn't do anything for me except keep repeating "If you would have purchased the assembly package.", no matter how many time I kept telling her I wasn't informed about any assembly package. So BEWARE and ask if you need to purchase the assembly package, because the chairs are difficult to put together. read more

I wish to review Claude who came to our house, on behalf of Leons, when we could not get the USB to work on the recliners. He was patient, kind, and extremely helpful. He even set me up on Amazon so I knew exactly what cords I needed to use to get the recliners to work properly to charge our devices. He went above and beyond. Thank you to Claude and to Leon's for hiring such repair technicians. read more

I purchased a top leather recliner with a 5 yr warranty. Three years later the leather is peeling from seat..but not cover under warranty..They say hair and body oil is breaking down leather. That it is normal for top.leather to break down and wear thin after only 3 years and warranty will not over it. Possibly it is only bonded leather that was deliver3d instead of the leather I ordered. BEWARE.AND.DO NOT SHOP AT LEONS IF LOOKONG.FOR QUALITY FURNITURE AND AN HONEST WARRANTY!! read more

Purchased a bed for $2000.00 two days ago.Realized it was poor quality and decided to return it.We were told we could only replace it with one of greater or equal value. We wanted to just return it seeing the poor quality.Spoke to manager who said we could return but would need to pay a 25% restocking fee.Still confused as to what this is but apparently on back of receipt. This would be $500.00 for nothing.I would never shop there again .We thought we could save someone else the trouble of making the same mistake. read more

Made a mistake, which is ok, it happens. Wouldn't lift a finger to fix it despite an obvious and easy solution at hand, which is most definitely not ok. In the end, I was the one that had to pay both time and money for their screw up. I shopped around and found much better prices and service with the competition, I recommend you save yourself the hassle and go straight there. read more

The warranty they sell through Zucora is useless. I paid $300 for my sofa warranty. I put in a damage claim last August 2022 and am still waiting for a repair. I have sent 6 emails and also have gone into the store to speak to the manager without any success. Don't buy it!!! read more

Do your research before you buy anything from that store. your going to wish you did. POOR service.

Leon's seems fine, but their association with King and State shows they don't really care once the sale is made. King and State are trash. I bought an LG fridge that broke and it was almost a month before the repairs were complete. I was told by the repair guy that K&S won't let them purchase compressors so that they could fix it on their first visit. They need to inspect the fridge, submit a form the K&S, wait for a reply, then order the part, then install it. A pos company. read more

A very large warehouse filled worth furniture you can find just about anywhere else. I could stop there, but it's worth mentioning the helpful staff (who are clearly out for a commission) and the large percentage of 'almost' furniture - or, furniture that is *almost* what you're looking for, yet totally not at all. The prices are fine, the payment options are diverse and easy to spread out over several years if you're into that sort of thing. Kind of like Ikea in 30 Rock, it's the sort of retail location that's bound to end in relationship troubles. Be warned. read more

Buyer Beware!!! Lies/Breach of Contract We had a horrible experience at Leon's Dartmouth. Went in store looking for a sectional couch. Found one and asked a few questions about it. Sales rep was very helpful. He noticed that the advertised price "may' be wrong so left us to check. He came back and said that it was indeed advertised incorrectly but that store policy was to honour the advertised price. He would not be able to honour the current "save the tax" event though. That seemed reasonable so we agreed. Other sales reps working that evening, including the Manager, were all there and congratulated us on the great deal. They seemed genuinely happy for us. We paid the agreed upon price, requested delivery, signed the paperwork and went on our way. Happy customers. UNTIL... we were called by Leon's later that weekend to advise that they were cancelling our order. The reason given: they couldn't sell for "that" price. What? You've already sold it to us. We already paid. We have the signed paperwork/contract. If they couldn't sell it at "that" price, then they shouldn't have 1) offered to do so 2) finalized the sale 3) accepted our money. Leon's boasts "Integrity Pricing." That should extend to when they make mistakes. Nope. Instead, they're breaking the contract. What kind of service is that? Non-existent. They obviously don't value their customers or want return customers. We tried to deal directly with the store manager(s) and then with head office customer service but still have no resolution. They're not willing to reinstate the order. They also won't respond to our emails in writing. I wonder why? So much for their claim of being the leading furniture store in Canada. That can't be true if you don't care about your customers and don't operate with integrity and principle. We're truly disgusted. read more

Grab your pyjamas and a pair of clothes, because you're about to venture into Leon's and it will probably take you a day or two to find your way out. This megastore warehouse is absolutely packed with every household item you could possibly ever want or need. In fact, you could easily set up house in the store. With crafty dodging techniques and the ninja-like art of blending in to your environment, surviving by rationing vending machine soda and chips, you could probably live here a long time without ever getting caught. Got the idea? The place is huge. While it's great to have options, there's something to be said about value and customer service. Despite their often circus-like sale events and tricksy payment deferral specials, I've noticed that many of their prices are above those of competitors. I guess Agent Zero's sword is a little dull when he slashes prices. The last couple of times I've been in, I feel like an issue of Superman #1 in a comic convention. The sales people want to get their grubby hands on my wallet, so we felt uncomfortably stalked as we browsed and were approached several times by the same sales people even after we rebuffed them. Apparently, they didn't get the memo that "No thanks, we're just browsing" is code for "Leave us the heck alone, we'll come find you if we need help." I can't say I won't fall prey to the lure of a jazzed voiceover guy peddling great deals, but I doubt I'll leave that place with a purchase. read more

I recently purchased a bedroom set with a king size bed and two couches coffee table and end tables from Leon's... i've had nothing but problems with the bed since day one the support beams underneath the bed frame kept coming on done then when the tech came out to look at it he said it was fine, then about a month later one of the support beams actually broke off so he had to come out again to look at it . He said he was going to order a replacement part to fix it that was literally four months ago... Four months! I have tried to contact customer service numerous times no one ever answers you get sent to a voicemail leave a message just to have your call not returned... I finally called and talked to the lady that answered the phone on the front desk and told her about it and she went to get somebody from customer service to talk to me... It shouldn't be that hard to get help. They told me that the part has been ordered that was the only information I was given. I have been sleeping on a broken brand new bed for four months and that's all they could tell me. She said she would check the order email Then reach out to me with an ETA... That was a week ago... I will never buy anything from Leon's again and would NEVER recommend them to anybody.. Canadian tire has better customer service than these clowns. Smfh read more

DO NOT SHOP AT THE DARTMOUTH STORE FOR ANYTHING!!!!!! This is a tragically unorganized, rude, and very slow spot to buy your furniture. Up to two months now waiting for a kitchen appliance....yes....two months and counting. When I called simply looking for an update I was informed it would be "at least one more month." Which to me means it's a good thing I called or I wouldn't have known otherwise. I was warned and should have listened. Now take MY warning and listen better than I did.......buy NOTHING here. It would have been worth it to me to buy my appliance in PEI, NB, etc etc and have it shipped. Very poor customer service, ZERO follow-up, and fairly rude people on top of it. Including when they tell the customer that YOUR appliance is going to be delayed!! Shop anywhere else. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING from this store. They are unprofessional and you will wait 4-6 months when waiting for your order. Delay upon delay. Customer service hung up on my mother several times. They are selling product on the floor, knowing it may take several months before you can get it but not communicating it to customers. Worst managed store ever. Do not give them your time. read more

Would never shop here again, worst customer service I have ever received. Purchases a couch there 5 months ago and received it without the legs. After calling customer service once a month the same guy basically say "wow they have taken a while" and says he can't do anything for me or says he will call me back then never does. March 20th he read me an email from the manufacturer saying your legs are shipping today, when I asked for a copy of the email the same customer service rep said he was not allowed to disclose that information. Well June 20th rolled around and I spoke to a women who forwarded me the email right away and said she would get me a tracking number. She has yet to get back to us with that. It's going on 6 months without legs for our couch. read more

I've been purchasing furniture from Leon's for two decades. I've always found the service and price to be quite reasonable. I did purchase the warranty on our couch and they fixed it when it was needed. I particularly appreciated the lack of haggling over furniture. You know what the price is and you can check it against other places. My only exposure to the Halifax store was recently when I was looking for a mattress. My old one, not 7 years old, needed replacing. I had a deposit on a mattress in the store when I told the salesman the story. He I formed me that the manufacturers warranty would cover that. He was right. Saved me $1500 easily. He didn't need to do that but it really was appreciated. They had my business before and they will again. read more

Within the past 3 years I've purchased a living room furniture and most recently a bed at Leon's in Dartmouth, NS. I needed a bed, as soon as possible, The Sales Associate said it would be delivered within two weeks. So, I paid for my purchase and waited for my new bed. The delivery date has come and gone and 'no word' from Leon's - Nothing. So I called Leon's on July 21, 2017 to inquire about my bed. I got jostled around from Reception to Delivery. At the end of my last conversation with a sales associate he hung up on me. When I inquired about my Bamboo Pillows and Bamboo Mattress Protector I found out the Sales Clerk forgot to include the pillows. I then decided to cancel the mattress protector and make the purchase elsewhere. Finally on Monday, July 31, 2017 Leon's called back to tell me they now offer Sunday delivery and asked if I would be available on Sunday, August 6, 2017 to accept delivery (August Long Weekend) of the bed? At this point, I was so annoyed I decided to cancel the purchase and told her I didn't want the bed anymore. I purchased this bed using my credit card and have paid interest on a product I haven't received? The Sale Associate when speaking with my husband offered $100 off the purchase. When I spoke with the Sale Associate on August 1, 2017 she said 'the $100 is for the interest accumulated on the credit card. My question is this, what value do you place on two weeks without a bed? What value do you place when your staff members deceive a customer in order to keep a sale? The value you place on your customers is evident and is severely lacking. This particular shopping experience is one I will never forget. The atmosphere is all about making money now - then they forget about you. My next purchase will not be Leon's Furniture. . Maybe Head Office in Montreal should start looking at their business practices. I'm not impressed! Sharon McGovern read more

leon's is the worst i will never buy from them again!!! i bought alot from them in the past and will never again. i purchased a upright freezer in july/21 delivered aug.6/21 by aug.11/21 called leon's in dartmouth to have exchanged because it broke down they would not take back they sent repair man motor froze ,have not heard anything since called again because it froze again 2 more times, call again nothing. i cannot even give it a 1 rating as i am so digusted with the response and attitude i got from their staff. on a brighter note i bought 2 fridges from home depot and they are working great. ps i had to put a 1 star as the post would not go through without one. i really didn't want to give it that. read more

ALERT: Update on the Bridgewater store closing....if you ordered from this sham of a business and did not receive your order, and you used a credit card to make your purchase, immediately contact your credit card company to file a claim. Call the store in Halifax first to talk to a live person and record the date and time of your call. They will tell you they are working on the 1100 orders that were not filled but I think we all know that is an impossible task or one that will take months to accomplish. They will not give you a delivery date. You cannot receive a refund from this company, and they will advise you "to take it to court." Hopefully your credit card company can assist you. Good luck! read more

Buyer Beware! I bought a white leather sectional sofa from Leon's in March this year along with a stain warranty that the salesperson strongly suggested I purchase. $4,000 and six months later I have a sofa that is slowly turning yellow. For the bridgewater location. They are so useless. Went there, found a couch and chair we really liked. That day we paid for it. Said well have to wait for the items to be deliveried. Thats fine. We waited and waited. Our couch came into the warehouse, But we decided to have the couch and chair delivered at the same time. So we waited some more. About 2 months later we go into the store to ask where our items are. Apperently the women who served us quit or fired or something and since then no one bothered to check her following emails on where our chair was it was never delivered to the bridgewater location. Okay fine. Well have our couch the following monday. And wait for a chair even longer... monday comes along. We took our old couch out and have everything ready. We call just to make sure our couch is actually coming. The person who we spoke to instore... put the delivery date for the following thursday instead... at this point im fed up. Yes at first we descided to wait. But heard no word from them untill we had to go in and see where our items was. Very poor customer service. Never will be buying anything from leon's again.
