This was the closest I have ever come to being tortured. Trimmer was dug into my scalp like the barber was scraping ice from his windshield. I said not too short and he made it very short. Put wax in my ears pulled it out causing pain. Told him to stop and just use a scissors in my ears to cut the hair out. I don't think he owns a pair. Used a small electric trimmer and pulled on my ear to open it and get it in there. Then he cut me in my ear and I am bleeding! Then he is hunting for his septic stick and could not find it. Eventually found it. I paid for all this pleasure. Never, ever go to this place. read more

Barbershop banter, hospitality, and a warm greeting every time I see Leonard and step into his chair. I have been coming to Leonard's for almost 20 years now (I'm 28) and it is by far still the best haircut that I've ever received. You will not be disappointed and best of all, you don't have to be a regular to get a quality cut. Leonard treats EVERYONE as a regular, possessing the bravado and one-of-a-kind swagger which makes the experience even that much more enjoyable. It is very hard to find a barbershop which does it old school like Leonard's. Barbershops might "look" the part, or try to take on a homely feel when you first walk inside, but it's not just the decor which makes this place feel like home. It's the character that Leonard has cultivated over the years which makes you feel like you can relax and gather yourself for a second, before heading back to the rat race that we all call "life." Wasn't sure what to expect when I first found this place via a Google search. I was pleasantly surprised. Walked in to a short wait but was greeted by Greg (Sweens). When my turn arrived, Sweens took the time to listen and understand how I wanted my hair cut. He was very forward about my hair style and was forthcoming with suggestions. Some might not appreciate the directive advice, but I liked his consultative approach and was looking for a 'professional opinion'. We settled on something in between and the result was fantastic. Got my haircut by Greg today on 12-7-15 First, there is plenty of parking available if anyone is concerned about that. Second, I was welcomed quite warmly by Greg, there was no one waiting so i jumped right in the chair. He took my jacket- which was nice, actually instead of trying to find a place to hang it. We talked about what I wanted, - I'm an easy going person so I let him do whatever he wanted as long as I didn't come out bald. Very personable guy, we talked about the town, our families, the holidays, the history of the place (it's been around for 70 years! 20 with the most recent owner) Probably one of the best cuts I've ever gotten, it's 20 bucks but I would have paid more. Went there for my sons first haircut yesterday. 11.5 months old and he did great. 3 generations have had their first haircut at this barber shop. My father in law my husband and now my son. Such a nice place and wonderful experience. They were absolutely terrific with my son And they made me feel like I knew them for years. This place is really great. We live about 20 minutes away.
