We stayed here five nights recently over the holidays. I booked the hotel through Tripadvisor Plus and chose the more expensive option to include breakfast. However, upon check-in I was told we didn't have breakfast included with our reservation. I don't know whose fault it is but made sure that there were no such discrepancies with subsequent reservations during our trip. At any rate, if the one dinner experience we had in the hotel is any indication of the breakfast quality, we didn't miss much.
When we asked to see the menu, we were told we has to sit down before seeing it. Then, the waiter proceeded to point out many items that they were out of. After going over what was left to choose from, my daughter and I both asked for the tomato soup and the grilled cheese focaccia. The waiter replied that they were also out of the soup! So we asked what he would recommend to have with the focaccia and he suggested tater tots. The order arrived and the focaccia was like a rock - hard, dry, and flavorless. Then our waiter brought out chips/french fries (that unbeknownst to us came with the focaccia) along with the tater tots. We had to laugh - why would the waiter recommend tater tots if the focaccia came with chips? Nothing about our hotel dining experience was good.
Our room was located at the far, quiet end of a hallway. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty and the one in the shower only lasted a couple days until that, too, was empty. The west end location of hotel was ok initially but after a few days we grew tired of the long walk to and from the city centre. I don't plan on staying at this hotel again. read more
