Let's start with a few positive notes: location is excellent, room size was as advertised and cleanliness was good (as can be expected at the price we paid).
However, overall I definitely do not recommend this hotel for a number of reasons. First of all, they didn't give us what we ordered (twin bed vs of 2-person bed). This in itself was not a huge flaw and probably a honest mistake. However, beware that the quality of both mattresses was pretty bad. Very hard beds with sharp edges.
Secondly, the wifi turned out to be not included in the room price (even though it was advertised as included). At the desk they showed us fine print where it was stated that there was a surcharge. So I asked about the price and was shocked. We were there for 2 nights and we had 3 devices on us (2 phones and 1 laptop) and the slow wifi would have cost us over 60 euros if we had taken it. The fast wifi would have cost us 95 euros. Just be aware of this scam when you book a hotel in general, but especially at Leonardo Hotels.
Also, the room was in bad shape. Air condition didn't work, some lamps weren't working, table and other things were wobbly or half broken, the fan in the bathroom was loud and had a highly annoying rattle, and above all: the walls in this hotel are very very thin. We were able to hear conversations in the next room and one painting fell off our wall when another guest slammed a door in the adjacent room.
After the discussion at the reception about the wifi we felt that the uncooperative and somewhat unfriendly staff would not have helped us adequately with our other issues or would not have been able to help us, so we decided just to ride it out and find a better hotel next time.
Normally I don't give 1-star reviews, but in this case I simply do not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will never stay at a Leonardo Hotel again, based on my experience.
Oh, one more thing: the breakfast was decent, but they do not serve bacon (for those who like bacon with their scrambled eggs). read more
