When we rented a house from this company, the family was initially very willing and helpful. Once the house was rented, it quickly became apparent that they do not take adequate care of the home. The house was not clean, had not been painted in years, and the carpet had nails poking through. None of which they were willing to address. When our situation changed, and we needed to leave our lease early, we asked permission. We met every requirement they set, including a hefty financial obligation. They did not advertise the house until over a month after we gave notice. We had to advertise it ourselves, despite paying a marketing fee to Leonard Reality. We did a final walk through upon move out. Susan signed off that the home was in good condition, and that no deductions would be taken from our security deposit. Six weeks later, four weeks AFTER the new tenants had moved in, she performed a SECOND walk though. She used that invalid walk through to deduct the majority of our security deposit. I consulted with another reality company, as well as an attorney. LEONARD REALITY ILLEGALLY WITHHELD OUR SECURITY DEPOSIT. My husband and I met their every demand, and did several improvements to the home while we lived there. We were stunned at their unprofessionalism, and poor attitude. Because of personal constraints we have not perused legal action, but a law suit is warranted, and we will be reporting them to the Maryland Real Estate Commission. read more
