I was so intimidated with the thought of filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy. In my mind I had failed. That thought went away after speaking with Richard himself during my first free consultation. I explained my situation to him and explained that I was at a loss. Richard answered all of my questions and concerns with compassion and understanding. I originally called a different law firm, (because I googled bankruptcy and called the first one that popped up), and something did not feel right with them, it was like a sales call almost... I am so glad I trusted my gut and called Symmes Law Group after seeing their amazing reviews on google and yelp. I highly recommend Symmes Law Group for anyone who might be at a loss like I was and felt like there was nothing else to do with their debt. Thank you again Richard and team from the bottom of my heart for everything!!!

All I can say is that Chi Nguyen is a professional in the law that she practices. She is a good…read moreattorney, being business like and personable. I came to her on the advice of my daughter. I decided to give her a call and we set up an appointment, lucky for me that she happened to be in the office because she is usually in court representing her clients. I just read some reviews and I'm not sure why the one negative review because she treated me well. Chi is good at what she does and that is she represented me as a client in court, I didn't even have to be there. While speaking with her on the phone, I decided to retain her as an attorney on my case as she sounded professional and knowledgeable. I brought everything that she asked, looked them over and she told me everything up front---the costs and what to expect of the outcome. She is prompt and courteous and she did everything that she said that she would do. She always replied to my phone calls and text---depending on which we had agreed to and set up. She would let me know ahead of time if there were changes or anything else that would be involved. With Chi, everything was up front. She got my ticket dismissed and also refunded me like 90% of the fees that were refundable ( I think that it had something to do with administrative cost. I feel that Chi is an excellent attorney and with her you will know what to expect and what to expect of her. She is honest and did me a great service. And to the one star, no one asked me to write this and it isn't a fake.

I am thoroughly disgusted with Attorney Chi Nguyen's lack of professionalism and communication…read more I found her through Yelp in July 2025 with glowing reviews. After a July 4th consultation, I hired her to handle my parenting plan matter (not my protection order, though she gave advice on that too). What followed was one of the worst professional experiences I've ever had. Here are the main issues: Never in court - She never once appeared in person, only via Zoom. We paid her the same as anyone else, yet she didn't show up physically. Unprofessional appearance - On Zoom, she dressed in casual T-shirts, not courtroom-appropriate attire. Paralegal overseas - The paralegal assigned to our case (Bernard) was working permanently out of the country. This made direct communication about our case nearly impossible. Bad legal advice & dishonesty - She advised my child to drop a protection order to "help" with a 50/50 parenting plan, then denied ever giving that advice in court. This damaged our case. Unprepared in court - Judges were visibly frustrated with her lack of preparation and awareness of required next steps. Communication failures - She ignored the client portal (where we receive notifications) and instead sent critical updates by regular email, which caused us to miss deadlines and hearings. Documents were submitted incorrectly and late, resulting in continuances, sanctions, and extra costs we had to pay ($700). Recent failure - For a GAL hearing, financial documents we sent in late August were submitted at the last minute. She failed to consult us on which GAL we preferred, leaving us blindsided in court. We left court feeling defeated every single time. Yesterday's hearing was the final straw--we fired her immediately. Hiring an attorney is stressful enough; you need someone professional, prepared, and communicative. Chi Nguyen was none of these. Do not hire her. I only gave 1 star because Yelp wouldn't let me submit my review without doing it.

In both instances, I was dealing with unreasonably punitive medical companies and frustrated by how much the cards seemed stacked against me. I came away from my interactions with Jason empowered by the options he made me aware of. Jason clearly cares about people and about ensuring they aren't taken advantage of by faceless companies. He is the voice of reason, and I highly recommend him to anyone who ends up in the unreasonable world of collections (or any unreasonable world for that matter). This is the guy you want in your corner. Thank you, Jason! p.s. I second what other reviewers have said about Jason being professional, caring, compassionate, awesome, an activist, and life coach. I feel he also came off demeaning and made me feel stupid and embarrassed. I was not looking for free legal help, I was looking for clarification and if my case was under the scope of his practice. I was not upset that he couldn't take my case. I work in the legal field and understand how the process works. I learned additional information and asked Jason if that was under his scope of practice, and was not looking for additional legal advice or any advice, just asking if he could take on my case. Again, my issue is not that he couldn't take on my case, my issue is that I felt he came off demeaning and how I was treated. I will not be reaching out again for any reason.

Let me ask you. Could you live in Seattle in a comfortable apartment or house on $1,530 a month???…read moreNo way. But Tom Atwood put a plan for me together to do just that. What it means is, I have to embrace my poverty. Girls say, "I don't talk to broke!" and I am cool with that. I cannot have any credit any more. Mr. Atwood put a plan together for me that forgives all my credit debt (believe me, they have billions $$$) and allows for me to live indoors with minimal supplies. Mr. Atwood is an expert in this. I had no other choice in my transition to full time work as a chef than to a disabled veteran on less than half what I was making before. Chapter 13 bankruptcy makes sense rather than blowing off your creditors, because Chapter 13 show that you care enough to avoid the wolf creditors while being immune from collections under section 207 of the social security act. This means I will probably never be laid again, and I am cool with that. I love my private, boring life without a car, but I do have 100% coverage medical through the Veteran's administration. I realize that American women today won't talk to broke, and that's fine. A lot less to worry about. Mr. Atwood in specializes in putting plans for you that invalidate most debts and allows you to live without that heavy monkey on your back, with six different due dates and 28% interest. No more, I said, I want something with real teeth that will keep the wolf from my door, and I did it with Thomas Atwood, Attorney, who specializes in bankruptcy options. Much better options than just abandoning your accounts to collection agencies. BK chapter 7 or 13 has real teeth which prevents creditors from garnishing your paycheck or SSDI benefits, the latter of which is guaranteed with or without a bankruptcy. Trust Tom Atwood to advise you correctly and what is the best path to take. Top rated. A ++++
