Very pleased with the service and glasses I got two years ago. This recent visit was a different matter. I wanted to switch from bifocals to progressive lenses and keep my current frame. Evidently the sales associate paid no attention to to what I said. After a 10 day wait I arrived to have my new lenses cut and inserted in my frames. I was the first appointment of the day and was told "30-45 minutes" for the process. An hour later I was presented with bifocals (not progressives) with the line exactly in the middle of the lenses. Not only had the associate not listened to my order and ordered and charged me for bifocals but she had completely screwed up my measurements. This was UNSATISFACTORY. Saving some stars in my rating was the technician, who was very apologetic, professional, inserted my old lenses in the frames, and ordered my progressive lenses. Another 7-10 day wait. I would call their sales strategy a form of Bait and Switch. For example, I was assured -- though not in writing -- that my Medicare Advantage plan was sufficient to cover the bill---and then presented with a $489 bill for a simple pair of glasses. my glasses cost a lot, around $500. And that's after insurance, but they are worth it because of the purple/white/clear theme they got going on. Amanda is hilarious to talk to with her deadpan humor, like Aubrey Plaza. The other receptionist, the short black lady with beautiful short blond/golden brown hair would make anime character designers fill up whole sketchbooks with reference drawings. This was my first time here and it was amazing. The doctor gave me an eye test that was awesome. He takes his time and then hands you over to one of the sales personnel. We stopped in last week to get some new glasses and had a solid experience. While the selection wasn't as impressive as some other locations (hey, it's the Stroud Mall), the store was clean and had enough options to make the selection process difficult (in a good way). Within 20 minutes we had out frames picked out, lenses ordered, and were on our way. The lady helping us was very friendly and made the selection and fitting process extremely easy. The only problem I had was the up-sell at every point of the order. It got a little old. All in all, an A-OK experience. read more

5 years ago I would have given this place 5 stars as they had a great selection of frames and a more knowledgeable staff. Now the frames are sub par and the selection nothing to write home about. Also since I am extremely myopic I require will pay extra to have my lenses thinned down for both visual and cosmetic purposes. 5 years ago they did an excellent job. Lately however I noticed my glasses are much thicker even though my prescription has remained unchanged. Did they get a cheaper supplier? It wouldn't be noticeable for someone with a regular script but it was very noticeable with my script. I was so disappointed. I did go elsewhere and did get lenses thinned to my liking albeit I had to pay for another pair. Once a great place has lost its glory. read more

This place sucks. The managers are extremely rude and arrogant. I went in to get fitted for contacts after I got my new script for glasses. When I went in to get FITTED I wasn't seen by any doctor to properly fit me for contacts. I was instead given a pair that was "close to my glasses" and I hope to god that's not true ( I haven't gotten the glasses yet) because it's the WRONG script. I am near sighted and wanted contacts for school. However I can't see 1 foot in front of me. I told the manager MULTIPLE times that I could not see and she ignored my concern and got cocky with me when I told her sternly that it was wrong. I was told to just wait and "adjust to them" however when my boyfriend tried to get me to read something not even a 2 feet away I couldn't see! She told me "I shouldn't be able to read that far" which is absolute bullshit. When I called to complain about the script another manager was rude and obnoxious. He put me on hold for several minutes before asking what my name was, just to come back on the phone and ask my name. He told me rudely that I would not see the doctor for an actual fitting and that they were ordering a new trial pair. I asked for the price of the new pair and I was told "well I would have no idea until I get them." But when I called 20 minutes later and talked to someone else she got the price for me. This place is fucking terrible. DO NOT GO HERE. Take the trip to Easton or Allentown to Pearle Vision. They actually know what they're doing! read more

Sometimes it's just the simple things in life that have the biggest impact. I didn't even buy anything. I had just stopped into the store to see if they would readjust my glasses. I had accidentally sat on them and bent them out of shape. I was fully expecting to have been charged for the service. To my surprise it was free, as a courtesy. What struck me and motivated me to take the time to write a review was the extraordinary kindness and professionalism shown to an individual that was not even a paying customer. The store was particularly busy at the time I went in yet, rather than putting me aside and letting me wait until all of the paying customers were taken care of, they fixed my glasses for me promptly and with the utmost courtesy. We just don't see enough of this kind of customer service these days. Bravo, LensCrafters. read more
