My husband bought glasses and from day one the lens kept falling out; after falling out again my husband went back to see what could be done, thinking the frames couldn't hold the lens and the manager was defensive right off the bat and said there was nothing they could do except for him buying a new pair or he could contact the corporate office. Took my sunglasses in hoping that they might be able to fix the bent frames. The look I got from the two gentleman working there only confirmed what I already knew. I told them that they had been sat on and that it wasn't me. The young man helping me said that he would do his best, but could not promise me anything. After about ten minutes, he reappeared from the back room and said that he might have to call himself some kind of miracle worker.I could not disagree. My glasses had been completelymrestored to their rightful shape. After a few minor adjustments, I walked out of there with my glasses as good as new, Exemplary customer service. I think a star rating of 1 is too high! Worst experience every!! They hire unlicensed technicians and give them minimal training at best, who have no clue how to work with insurance, give you a quote for $1000 after insurance, lock out your benefits making it next to impossible to go elsewhere and then work with them for 2 days to release their authorization or hold on your benefits and it's still not released.. on top of no full time optometrist on staff! At this point buying a car would be easier than getting a prescription for glasses purchased! And a sales person who's only word is "awesome" does help help. Again, WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! read more

I expected a lot from this place because it's in the mall and very expensive, but they are understaffed and too expensive for the quality of glasses they provide. I had got my glasses from there brand new and I dropped them just once and the lens popped out, came in had them fix it and still pops out. I had a pair I bought from eyeglass world 5+ years ago that never had any issues like that for a better price. Always the best. They really go above and beyond to make the customers happy. My husband get all of our sunglasses and prescription glasses here and have no complaints at all. If there ever is an issue or something happens to our glasses they are happy to fix the problem. Don't waste your time. Lenscrafters understaffs and undertrains the staff that they do have. I'm trying to return my glasses (Ralph Lauren, manufacture defect) and the employee has not been trained to do returns and the only other employee is doing an exam. The only other customer in the store is also trying to return glasses (Ray-Ban, defective) and had to travel from out of town to do so. He has been in 5 times to have adjustments made to his glasses. I do feel bad for the current employees, but they should just go somewhere else to work. Lenscrafters is a joke. Only giving one star for the overworked employee. I feel bad for her. read more

I had high expectations for Lens Crafters due to their expensive rates. Unfortunately, the optometrist that I worked with Steven Satnick was incredibly condescending when I asked questions about my eyes. I tried to get prescriptions for my contacts and they did not have my particular contacts which is fine, but the front desk should have told me to bring in a pair of contacts, instead of the doctor telling me 4 times how could you not bring the contacts in? Then the woman who had brown hair with bronze/copper glasses with a bow was incredibly rude. I tried to explain about the contact situation and she had these eyes like a teenager pouting and combative. It was not professional at all. The only saving grace was the incredible young man who was the technician. He was kind, helpful, upbeat. He answered my questions and went above any beyond for customer service. I wished he had been the only one that helped me today. read more

They are so nice to put cushions on my glasses for comfort at no charge, really good to have friendly customer service!

I have had a few minor issues such as my daughters glasses being made with my rx and ordering a polycarb polar lens which made me feel dizzy and get a headache the staff corrected my issues and even credited back some money which was great! They are usually under staffed and the wait time is a draw back but the manager/gm is super helpful very good service from him. The turn around time of one hour is usually about right. Would recommend but give self extra time in lieu of having to wait for an optician to assist you. read more

Our insurance forces us to use these guys or we would be gone. They're always short on staff as well as knowing what's going on. We've used them for over 15 years. Dr. Jody Bickford is a delight. We all love her. She's thorough and makes sure our exam is perfect. She is a separate entity than the Lencrafters. In our house we call them Lenscrappers. That's what you get with them. They are waaay overpriced compared to other shops. Our insurance insists we go there and they pay. The " one hour turn around" is only for basic scrips. If you have astigmatism or anything different, it's a few days and another trip. Not an issue but we live 75 miles away RT. Every time the 4 of us go in we spend at least $2,000 on 4-5 pair. Each time, the glasses are wrong. Once I had to go back 7 times to get the right ones. Looked fine until u put them on and then it looked like milk. Took my 14 yo last week as he had a bike accident and needed a pair urgently. It took 4 days to make a pair, drive all the way up and they were completely the wrong script. I had had enough at this point. I came home, called our insurance company and told them again how displeased we were. I also call LensCrafters regional manager and had a lengthy conversation. If you just need a basic pair of glasses, your eyes are a little off and want expensive frames , go there. I will admit they carry much more of a designer style frame than other places. You will pay a hefty price. From now on we will get our exams thru Dr. Bickford and get our glasses Elsewhere. Nothing has changed. Less staff. Wait forever for help. They neglect to tell that the one hour glasses are only if your eyes aren't too bad. No astigmatism! Finally after 5 years I've convinced my husbands company to drop them read more

I have gone to LensCrafters in Redding for several years. Recently I went to order a new pair of glasses to replace and update my current distance tri-focals due to heavy scratching on the lenses. I also had an eye exam to see if I needed an updated prescription, which I did. Before I even picked up my new glasses, I went back to report to the OD on duty that the very day before that I had experienced full cloudiness in my left eye, and Dr. Atif Tavid, OD, ended up writing out a full paragraph on a Patient Referral Form how this cloudiness could be symptomatic of a more serious condition (TIA) which should be followed up on urgently. He gave several other suggestions. Also there were Lab Tech extraordinaire Cindy, and specialist Leilony. They also have several other staff members and doctors very knowledgeable and helpful. I thanked him and drove immediately to my cardiologist, who wasn't in that day, so I ended up at the ER at Shasta Regional, and am so very glad I did, because they tested me for 4.5 hours and took very good care of me, especially by one Dr. Avigile Baehr, very informative and caring. I now am very much more aware of symptoms to watch for, and will now be able to respond to any that happen much more timely to get immediate help. Thank you, Lenscrafters in Redding! They returned my glasses no problem and I was able to find a pair I LOVE. The man who helped me was straightforward and if he wasn't clear on something he asked someone. I used to love going to LensCrafters. I really like the optometrist Dr. Bickford. Also they had a good selection of petite frames. They no longer have that selection but more importantly the last visit that I had my prescription did not come out right at all. I finally am giving in and having it done again somewhere else after living with it for 6 months. I couldn't go back to LensCrafters to get it fixed because I couldn't find frames I liked or that fit there so I bought my glasses elsewhere. Two pairs. So I'm out a whole bunch of money and I've been super uncomfortable not being able to see at all. I finally have given in and I'm wearing my old glasses because they're not quite as bad as the new prescription. I didn't start that until a month ago so it's not like I didn't give it time. 5 months is more than adequate. I have to take half the responsibility though because I'm the one that says a or b is better but then again most of the time I was saying I can't tell the difference because I can't see either one well and that didn't seem to get anybody's attention or seem to be of concern. I should have known when they said wow you've had a huge change at 60 years old when I go every year that there was probably a problem right there - and that was before I even saw Dr. Bickford. I really do like her and think she's a good doctor but if my prescription is too difficult I should probably see an ophthalmologist. This is where I run into problems because I won't ever go back to the ophthalmologists at Dr. Trents office, they are horrible people and I'm not particularly happy with my cataract surgery. It left me with all kinds of floaters which I never had before and they were super dishonest about the costs which I got to find out after the surgery! They lead you to believe that after you give them a couple of thousand dollars that you have paid them off but that's not the case you have just begun. I would definitely stay away from them LensCrafters is better. I guess I really need to find a decent ophthalmologist or optometrist in Redding or maybe I just need to go outside of Redding. read more

I lost a pair of glasses and did not have insurance so my daughter says she ha a pair a frames I could use and maybe a little cheaper. LensCrafters said it would actually cost me more because the special they were running only if I purchased new frames. The outcome was over $500.00. I later checked with Walmart exact same glasses $244.00 and if I wanted to use my old frames they only charge $10.00. Do not get taken like I did. read more

I visited Lenscrafters two and a half years ago and a year before that. At the last visit, the Dr. said simply, "You have operable cataracts." Nothing more. And gave me a Rx that was not helpful at all. After going to Shasta Eye Care, I was educated on what was happening and why my eyesight was so bad. I have had cataract surgery with NO PAIN and excellent results. If you think you are having eyesight problems beyond normal, go to an Ophthalmologist, NOT an Optometrist. ALSO, DO NOT PAY the extra $40 for a picture of your eye! It is a ripoff. Any Ophthalmologist or Optometrist can see what is happening in your eye right now. read more

James was great helping out with my wife"s glasses. We went in to pick them up James wasn't there the Donna handed them to her and never checked for fit and walked off. This isn't the first time having problems with Donna very rude on the phone and in person. I was suppose to go in on Friday called to see if James was in Donna real rude again. Horrible. They are so incredibly rude. They wouldn't replace my defective glasses. They made me mad, and cry. They wouldn't even glue them back together so I could see.
