I read reviews about LensCrafters and was iffy about going so I let my first appointment go. That day that was supposedly my eye examination I went to see how the store was. It was nice. First person I met was Ramone and he was super helpful and nice. He explained to me about vision part of my health insurance and what was covered. I scheduled my eye exam. Had my eye exam yesterday and the examination went smoothly and quickly. My optometrist name was Dr. Blade and she was nice and answered my off the wall questions about my eyes. Anyways the reviews scared me away but I had to see for my self and my experience was nice. I can't remember the woman who helped me with my eyeglasses purchase. She did my fitting. Made sure the frames would fit comfortably and I can honestly say I'm glad I went. I will update in a week or so about my eye glasses. read more

I had an eye exam in 2023 at the Port Richey Store.. I purchased two pairs of glasses. Prada and Michael Kors. The Michael Kors are losing the transition tint on the edge of one of the lenses. I took the glasses to the Ocala Store and they told me the warranty was done because it had been over a year. I am very disappointed and did not know that lenses were only supposed to last one year. I did not know I was purchasing disposable eye glasses that cost over 1,000. read more

I was very disappointed with my experience with Lens Crafters in Ocala. Roughly 9-4 weeks after picking up my glasses I went in and complained that they were rubbing my skin raw over my ear, The representative looked at it and said they needed to adjust the frames. When they returned the glasses they said that would resolve the problem. I wore my old glasses for a week until the over-ear problem seemed to be healing. Unfortunately, the problem came back and I went back to my old glasses. It was Christmas Eve and we had holiday plans so I waited until after New Years to go back in, I was informed by the staff and manager that I had waited too long and that my receipt clearly states that I must ask for a replacement within 30 days. I pointed out that I had come in during the 30 day period and was told the problem was resolved (no mention then that I had less than a week to replace them if I wanted). Although I did not know it at the time the frames for the new glasses were smaller than the frames in the old glasses, which perhaps was the problem. I will never use Lens Crafters again. read more

I had to make a second appointment for contacts because I didn't schedule initial appointment for both glasses and contacts. Mind you I was the last appointment for the day. I asked if there would be another copay and I was told "no", but when I came back there was a $90 charge for contact fitting as they said my insurance doesn't cover contact fitting. The fitting took every bit of 13-15 minutes which could have been done on my initial visit. I was a little ticked about the entire setup. Main reason is, I drove 35 minutes to the appointment, and because they should've disclosed copay when second appointment was made, not after the exam...uggghhhh. read more

This store engages in predatory business practices targeting the elderly. My 90 year old father in law purchased prescription sunglasses ($600) that were made with the wrong prescription. When we questioned why the prescription didn't look correct at pick up we were told he needed to "get used to them". Our separate optometrist has confirmed the lenses are wrong but the store will not fix them or issue a refund. Criminal targeting of a vulnerable elderly population. The manager (Erin Waterfall) refused to help and disdains any attempts to correct their error. Shame on you! read more

Honestly the best experience I've ever had with getting glasses. Dr Jeffery was great. He showed me and explained everything along the way. The office staff were very kind and compassionate. But the real star was the young man that helped me find two sets of perfect frames. I've been wearing glasses 15 years, and I get new prescriptions every year. I have NEVER had as great an experience as I did with OMAR! He was amazing. He listened to my needs, and his patience was everything. His parents raised a good human. LensCrafters is untrustworthy and downright sneaky. They automatically add on $45 insurance for eyewear protection without notifying the customer. So even if a customer breaks their glasses they don't know they have insurance. Essentially the company is counting on you not to review your sales slip. Don't trust LensCrafters and their employees are no better for going along with it. read more

I was told to come Monday morning at 9:00 AM. I was not told they are not doing complete eye exams due to COVID-19 (presumably, no slit lamp exam due to proximity). I show up and they do their annual attempt to sell me a retinal exam for $40 cash. The business of medicine. I decline; I am young, non-diabetic, non-smoker. They inform me that they are substituting the close portions of the eye exam with the retinal exam. I call a consult - another local optometrist, who agrees that it is inappropriate to do what they're doing at Lenscrafters - there is no anterior eye exam with the retinal exam, it is not an appropriate substitute. What's concerning from a fraud perspective is that they're scheduling annual eye exams and bait and switching to the cash only retinal exam...but are they then charging insurance additionally for the complete eye exam, without performing it? I may inform Humana of a need to investigate for potentially fraudulant billing. I would have confirmed this with the optometrist, but he refused to speak with me. Finally, I called around town, and everyone else is still doing complete eye exams. This is an anomaly with only this shop at this time. read more

Did the exam after retinal surgery and 'therapy " with one goal of getting my left eye to work more. I had not used it for four years so it was .. lazy and closed. The doctor understood and we tweaked the prescription. I ordered bifocals and bifocal sunglasses for driving. Hd and hi quality anti glare. They are worth it to challenge my eyes. My frames and lens were all new, but my friend had lens made on the spot and put in his old frames. I returned a few days later for mine. He walked out with his. P.S. my vision is better with both eyes than just the "experienced" eye. Hopefully things will get back to normal. Friendly staff and free parking. read more

I purchased a pair of Oakley eyeglasses and lenses from this business. They were to be my replacement set for when my current set wore out fully. When I got them home I placed them into my desk drawer, in their hard case until about a year later when I finally needed to start using them. When I removed them from their case the lenses had pits in them. Very deep and noticable ones that were not visible when I had originally purchased them. These were apparently defective lenses. I purchased the top tier lenses and coating that they had offered at the time. I contacted the local store who advised me that there was nothing that they could do. They told me to contact corporate customer service. When I contacted corporate customer service they told me that the store would be the ones that needed to handle the situation. Thus began the vicious cycle. To date, both corporate and the local store has refused to do anything to replace these defective lenses. I would advise anyone who is looking to patronize this business to steer clear and take their hard earned money elsewhere. I am sure I will receive some sort of generic "contact us" reply to this review and I will not fall back into their cycle of blame again. You lost a long-time customer LensCrafters! read more

Went in to have my lenses changed. For poly carbonate they wanted $466.00. I have designer glasses with the same lenses and paid less for both. There prices are nuts. Went somewhere else and paid $200,00 for the exact same thing. My understanding is the sales people work on commission. It pays to shop around! read more

i was a patient who got Lens Crafter from last year. I purchases two pairs of glasses, frames and lenses. This year i went back and was going to do the same thing get eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses. When i was there at the store i asked if they took care credit, which they said they did, i asked them what financing they did offered through care credit they said 6 months. I asked if you spend more than 5 or 6 hundred do they offer a longer term. No i was told. Ok so i went home and did my homework and called care credit and they told me if Lens Crafter or any vendor wanted to extend your time they could they only need to call the bank and ask to extend my terms and they, the bank would show them how to do it. I called Lens Crafters and filled out their forms but to no avail no one can help, I spoke to several people and no one knows how to do anything. Well i found another eyeglass place who can extend the terms, so buyer beware. Lens Crafters does not care about you they care about their money. When your using a health care card to pay for your purchases make sure you're getting what is right for you. read more

Poorest service ever! My wife and I both had eye exams and ordered glasses. Mine were made too strong after waiting a week to get them in and had to be re-examined then reorder new lenses. All while running the 30 day warranty out. My wife also ordered progressive bifocals and the made hers only for distance when she mainly needs them for reading and computer. Made totally wrong and of course has to wait a week for the lenses to come in also. Along with even though they screwed up the prescription by not ordering what the doctor prescribed the 30 day warranty is running as the two weeks that it took to get the glasses and have them corrected is the fault of Lens Crafters not either one of us. Why can't they make what is prescribed by the doctor not what they want? Along with not penalize the customer for their inability to do what the doctor writes the prescription for? We will not be doing business with them and sure will let it be known of their quality and treatment. read more

Not a good experience here. I went for my yearly checkup, my eyes had not changed so I simply wanted to renew my contact prescription and be on my way. Of course nothing can be so simple anymore. The eye doctor wanted me to try some different lenses "just to see" and have me come back in a few days to see if I liked them better. I politely declined, letting him know I had already tried the other brand and was very happy with what I had, I have been wearing contact lenses for almost 20 years now. He insisted and so I was stuck with lenses I didn't want. On top of this I had to come back for a second appointment, a waste of time just to repeat myself. But the worst part was that I was then charged $50 for a "contact lens fitting" which of course was NOT covered under my insurance. It was not until after I came back when I realized what the doctor and office were doing. What a waste of time and a rip off! read more

I purchased new glasses from the location in Ocala, FL. The staff was amazing, friendly, helpful. I decided I didn't like the frames so I went to exchange them and the experience was not the same. I walked in and they were busy so I walked around and looked at other frames. for 35 minutes I was visible while everyone else was waited on. I stood in the front of the store and learned I had to be invisible. Not 1 associate acknowledged me. 2 associates clocked out and walked right by me and said nothing. I got mad and left, I called customer service and he told me I could go back to the store the next day as the manager just left 5 minutes ago. NO THANK YOU! First you can't make an appointment. So I come in as a walk in and wait for someone to notice me. It took a while. Then I am told they can't help me because my lenses are out of warranty. I said I want to pay for new lenses because these have bubbled up and I just want something simple...no bells or whistles. After being there an HOUR, I'm told the cheapest replacement lenses will be $183! I am at my optometrist's office right now and a whole new pair of glasses is going to cost $85. Horrible service!! Took four trips to get my wife's glasses right, one trip with me yelling at them about how horrible their service is. I am a business owner and I know that if it was one of my customers I would be extremely upset with whomever made the SAME mistake four times in a row! We paid over $700.00 for two pairs of glasses which both sets where messed up from day one and after multiple trips and we call to find out when we can pick them up they say they lost one set of the glasses and still have not shipped the other set off to the manufacturer to fix the mistake with the prescription. I would highly recommend not going to this location as they are horrible!!!! The doctors are great but the other staff is lacking on all levels!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Just an awful place. They took me down for a grand for two pair of glasses a few years ago. One pair coating came right off and out the car window they went. Other pair held up fine but need new lenses. Nope they won't put new lenses in my old frames and wouldn't give me an RX so I could buy online for the 99.00 exam. I declined both and went to Sam's club a mile away. 55.00 for full exam which is way less than half of lens crafters and super nice. I bought a pair of glasses and progressive lenses from them too for a spare. If you want to be treated right go to Sam's. Try Lenscrafters first but ask questions then head someplace else. I loved it! On Monday i decide to get my eyes examined on Tuesday so i go on line and schedule the appointment. On Tuesday i go to get my exam and am promptly received as scheduled. Great exam with plenty of explanation. Walk into the Lenscrafter part of the facility and ask if i can just have lens placed in two exisiting frames and the answer was yes. Then they measure your eye positions for exact fit with a computerized program. Said they would text me when ready for pickup. One hour later i get two texts and I am wearing new glasses. How much better can it possibly get than that???? What was i thinking going other places and waiting for glasses to arrive. read more

I finally got eye insurance through work and chose lenscrafters because of the advertising of "glasses in about an hour" and though wow that would be convenient one stop shopping. The exam was fast and friendly from Dr. St.Martin and her staff and I could not ask for anything more from that end. So I took my prescription and walked over to the lenscrafters part of the store. You would think that seeing a customer with a bright yellow prescription in hand, that you would come over and say hi or how can I help you....but nope. I literally looked around for about 30min before anyone would acknowledge me. Once they did I was expecting them to help out with choosing the glasses or options, but they did not. Most of the decent glasses were priced around 250.00, which I thought was a bit steep but hey, my insurance will pay 200, so I though okay. Now comes the add-ons and sticker shock, they will tell you, you have to have the anti-reflective coating (which really makes a difference at night and looking at the computer), it costs almost 100.00 just for the coating and that is including insurance. My total bill was 180.00 and to make it worse, it would take over a week to get the glasses. If I knew all of this and how long it would take I would have got to a professional eyeglass establishment vs. the quickie-stop of glasses which is not so quick or convenient. read more

When I lived in New York, I went to LensCrafters there and was very satisfied. So now I live in Ocala Florida, and went there. I saw the Doctor Who examined my eyes and purchased two sets of glasses, their prices are crazy but I love the selection. The next day I picked up my glasses and noticed the right eye was blurred and mention this to the woman who gave them to me, she said to wear them a few times it takes time to adjust, I use them to watch TV if the TV is far and for driving, so for a month I went and it still felt like there was a problem. On one particular day it was dark and rainy and my glasses did me no good. I called LensCrafters and said what I just read said, and told her I'm still having problems ,well they tell me that my 30 days are up And they are no longer responsible. the manager called The next day, and said that in order to get re-examined it would cost me another $40, I asked her, why I should pay for the doctors Mistake.I was told that's just the way it was. Never will I go To LensCrafters again. It was very expensive and then to have to pay for a doctors mistake is ridiculous. read more
