Dr. Anderson was friendly, prompt and professional, and the rest of the staff was great at answering questions I had about bringing in old frames to get new lenses put in. I made my appointment online but called in to inquire about the price of the exam, both methods of contact were great and got all the answers I was looking for. Also, my current insurance does not cover eye exams, but they asked if I had AAA as they offer a discount on the exam. read more

5/5/2026 I'm leaving this review based on my attempt to access my own historical eye exam/prescription information from a previous appointment. I had an exam here on 12/14/2023 and recently tried to obtain the prescription information from that visit. I understand an older prescription may be expired and should not be treated as current. That is not what I am asking for. I am asking for access to my own historical medical/optical record. When I called, I was told the store could see the information but would not provide it because it was "outdated" and due to liability/security concerns. I was also told I could come into the store to get it, which makes the refusal to provide it remotely confusing. If the concern is that it is expired, it could simply be marked as expired or historical. Requiring an in-person visit is not a patient-friendly solution. Patients may no longer live nearby, may lack transportation, or may have accessibility limitations. Identity can be verified remotely. Accessing one's own medical information should not be this difficult. After the call, I tried calling back to ask about the proper records request process, but I was routed to an automated message stating I may receive a callback within two business days. I called again shortly after and got the same message. I submitted a formal written request to Luxottica's Privacy Office for access to my historical eye exam/prescription records. I am not asking for an expired prescription to be treated as current. I am asking for access to my own record. 5/8/2026 Update: LensCrafters responded to this review and directed me to a Customer Care form. I filled it out, and the confirmation said to expect a response from the store within 5 business days. I still have not received the manager callback I was promised. The associate said I would receive a call the next day, and the automated message said I should receive a call within two business days. That did not happen. I am not trying to be difficult. I would much rather LensCrafters simply call or email me, verify my identity remotely if needed, and provide the historical prescription/medical record information I requested. If they make this right, I am happy to update or remove this review and drop the issue. 5/19/2026 Update: LensCrafters Customer Service responded on 5/7/2026 stating they "do not have access to exam records" and told me to contact the doctor's office directly, but did not provide the doctor's office or records custodian contact information. On 5/15/2026, LensCrafters Care Team said my concern had been escalated and that a member of the store team should be reaching out shortly. It is now 5/19/2026, and I still have not received the promised store callback or any records custodian information. At this point, I have also filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. I still just want the record, the correct records custodian information, or a written explanation of any refusal. read more

I think LensCrafters above others....with me I recommend LensCrafters above any other eye doctor for the fact you can get your eyeglasses the exact same day!!!! I'm not seeing any other opthamologist or better or worse but they seem to have the most high-tech equipment to fit you for your glasses to see what suits you the best and even though I don't have the best insurance they price match and gave me $99 to spend with Total Health Care instead of the Total Health Care paying only $45...so you basically get double the money if you go there to spend on a pair of frames that you like. The ladies working there and we're so patient with me and my two kids and the optometrist seem to know what he was doing. it's all done on computer now and it's very interesting seeing how the new testing works and how they make me see again!!!! A lot has changed in 4 years since I was there last and I will continue to go here and recommend others. I even stopped here one time when I woke up and felt like a ghost from the undead had scratched my eye sure enough somehow while I was sleeping there was a deep scratch in my eye and he gave me the stuff that pretty much numb my whole eyeball until it felt better :-) so thank you doctor for that. You have to pay for parking. Their bathroom is out of order so I have to go to a different business to go to the bathroom. Then when I was in the preexam they said the bathroom was working. How did that happen in 10 minutes. I did not see a plumber go by I came early and they took a late person at my appointment time. Appointment at noon and 12:20. I see doctor. Doctor was nice an good. Had to feed the parking meter three times. Al most 45 minutes to get fitted and as to move desk because the computer was rebooting and and retake the pictures three times. I might have to feed he meter for a Fourth time just ran out of time when I finished. I will give you a blow by blow when I pick my glasses up in 10 days read more

Before I blast this location I think Dr. Hickinson and Dr. Defever are both great doctors and I have 0 complaints about them. However, a couple months ago I was seen by a different doctor who wrote me a new prescription. I purchased 2 new pairs of glasses and when they arrived I could barely see out of them. It felt like my corneas were burning when I wore them, and one of the pairs I couldn't see anything out of. I assumed this was just me needing to get adjusted to the new prescription so I tried them out for a week or so and my eyes were constantly burning. Everything was harder to read than my previous pair of glasses, and the lenses were giving me a headache to look out of. I called up and complained, and was told I just needed to get adjusted to them. I took their word and tried them out a bit longer, and the strain on my eyes from wearing the glasses became excruciating, (I still haven't even worn the other pair because I couldn't see out of those at all). Finally I couldn't take it anymore and called up asking to see Dr. Hickinson or Dr. Defever instead to redo the eye exam. I got a new script that was actually the correct script this time. Afterwards, the employees were trying to persuade me to purchase 2 new set of glasses and lenses completely disregarding the fact I just bought these, and have the protection plan on them. I was previously told to wait longer and try to get adjusted to them and I did wait. I feel as though I was tricked to wait until after the 30 day satisfaction guarantee expired. I paid for these glasses and the protection plan under the thought I would have the correct script put into them, (which the previous doctor screwed up). So to have the audacity to try to immediately sell me new frames and lenses is complete bullshit. How about you replace my lenses with the correct prescription under the protection plan I paid extra for. I have gone here for half my life (well over a decade), and purchased between 2-4 pairs of prescription glasses and sunglasses per year, some of those years even purchasing contacts. I have easily spent over $30,000 here, and they acted as if I've never spent a single dollar there, and I'd have to purchase new overpriced lenses or set of new glasses, as well as a new protection package due to their mistake. TLDR stay the hell away from here, and take your money to a local owned business who actually gives a shit about their customers, rather than this corporate run bullshit. Never going back. read more

And this review is not meant to call-out LensCrafters as a company, as I've gotten great service in Chicago, including different locations giving me a sample when needed (such as when I've torn or lost a lens). This review is purely for this location that provided some of the worst customer service I've experienced. I have been a loyal LensCrafters customer for the past 7 years. I was in town for the holidays and ran out of contacts, so I came into this LC and asked for 2 samples to get through the next 2 days so I can see while driving back to Chicago. The employees refused to give me samples unless I ordered more contacts from their store. I told the employees that I recently purchased a year supply of LensCrafters contacts, so I couldn't order another year of contacts from this store. On top of saying no, their attitude towards me was rude and disrespectful. Very disappointing. read more

Its always a 'roll of the dice' when looking for doctors when you're new in town. Im happy I made this choice.( And, enough to get on here & post it!) The staff here is amazing. The doctor was friendly and didnt rush through any of my questions or the process. The staff up front took the time to help me pick out the best glasses for my face, explained my insurance benefits and were extremely friendly during the whole process. Great Optometrists and Eyewear offices. The Optometrist was great and very though as I have been to many to compare. There are parking meters on the street right in front and lots of great shopping and restaurants in the nearby area. The office is brightly lit with their own lab on the premises. I thought it was a bit cool inside but other than that, it was totally awesome. I have found an eye doctor that I would like to handle all of my eye care needs. read more
