Our coffees were there in no time along with two slices of cakes. She even let us taste one of her favorites, seeing that we were definitely cake connoisseurs. There's even a tiny lift to take you to the toilets downstairs. The color scheme of this place is awesome, just a lot of glass windows so you can see the world jealous of you and your cake.

The music played here is fantastic and is an amazing mix that just about everyone will enjoy. They also regularly have concerts--I'm sure this place gets packed for those! Although a bit pricey (our bill came to around 12 with 2 beers and a snack) I think it's a nice enough place to enjoy a drink (skip the snack).

I needed a break after being out in the cold for several hours. The display case near the entrance is loaded with cakes, beautiful cakes(!), and more cakes. I had questions about the menu items and she took the time to bring me an English menu. The drill is - order a slice of cake at the display case & get a ticket, give the ticket to your waitress. She will get the cake and bring it to you along with drinks you order. Very efficient! Upstairs has a bigger red walled, table-service dining area with multiple rooms for meals. There was a salad bar I noticed too. I thought the waitress I encountered upstairs was gruff (since she told me to move out of her way). The Middelberg bakery ambiance was so much nicer downstairs...
