After dinner, I let my friend choose the place for drinks since she's the local. She took us to one of her favourite bars, Domkeller, which I'd classify as a dive bar. We dropped in on a Tuesday evening (around 9:15pm) and it was busy. There was a private event upstairs so the inside was packed. Luckily, we were able to snag a table outside beside the heaters. Nice touch with the blankets for you to use if you get cold. Only downside is lots of chain smokers but that's at most bars. One of the coolest bars I've been to in long time! I looked up Domkeller on Yelp! and you all did not disappoint, I got just what I was looking for! Located (as the name suggests) right near the Dom, Domkeller offers good beer (German, Belgian as well as others) in a cozy atmosphere. For me, Domkeller embodies what a bar should be--a relaxed place where you can share a drink with friends and listen to good music (at just the right level) or have a good conversation. The music played here is fantastic and is an amazing mix that just about everyone will enjoy. They also regularly have concerts--I'm sure this place gets packed for those! Although a bit pricey (our bill came to around 12 with 2 beers and a snack) I think it's a nice enough place to enjoy a drink (skip the snack). read more

Great place to grab a beer if you are near the old town Aachen. Very charming place with friendly service. I don't know too much about beer but I think their beer on tap were great! read more

Decent beer list, but nothing highly unusual. Went for a Rothaus Tannen Zäpfle as I was still sober enough to say it. It was fine. Looks quite typically German, but with a slightly different feel to it. The music probably contributes to that. I like a bit of German cheese, but will happily listen to the likes of Nirvana, Metallica, Blood Hound Gang and Red Hot Chilli Peppers instead. They do live music too. They have a thing for gnomes and dolls if you look around. Cheap food. read more

Had so much fun there with my Austrian friend. I even saw a ex-friends home on Boxgraben. Lots of great people there and made new friends. I'll be back to Europe soon. read more

Tried local beer and for the price and atmosphere, you can't beat it, especially after visiting the Cathedral where Charlemagne was crowned!

Went into to watch the Euro Cup. Good beer, good service, very cool atmosphere. The toilet was kinda gross, but hey its a pub, what do you expect! Would go again for sure for an ice cold beer. read more
