Several weeks later, the boat filled with water when blown off the lift in a storm and luckily ran aground before it sunk. Still did not know what happened until was taking kids tubing and it again filled with water. Could have been very dangerous. When I tried to tell them about it, first they denied their employee would do such a thing and then they told me that it was my fault because Wisconsin law required them to remove the plug. HHHMMM...does Wisconsin law prohibit you from putting it back in or informing the customer it is out? Their rudeness was complete when I said they lost a customer and they told me they did not want "my kind of business". Stay away if you value competence and good customer service.

Finally, the owner begrudgingly told an employee to remove it. What I didn't know, until launching the boat was that they purposely reversed the battery terminals so the boat wouldn't start! I know it was purposely because the boat ran fine (but loud) that morning when I took it out of the lake to go back to John's. Terrible business!! Side note: I went back to get my old exhaust bellows back. Owner immediately said they threw it away & dumpster was picked up. But the woman in the office found it within seconds "here it is!". Was he planning to sell it to another unsuspecting customer? We'll never know. NOW YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

When I called around, all shops that work on Evinrudes had wait times that would have shut down my vacation. When I called Mel's, the guy was very helpful and we discussed my issue for 15 mins or so! I am fairly handy and wished to fix it myself if I could to continue my boating and fishing since the wait time for shops wasn't too good for me. Mel's helped me out with ideas, and combined with a half hour of Google and You Tube, my issue turned out to be the thermostat, a very simple fix. One of Mel's suggestions as possible culprit, BTW. If I ever have something I can't handle while up here, Mel's is where I'm going. This guy is great.

Last fall we had the restoration project started and this spring our new/ old boat was delivered. The only problem is that the organization that did the restoration, not Round Lake Marina, did not check the engine as they'd assure us they would. So here we are, with a beautiful, cosmetically restored boat, but the darn thing wouldn't start and if it did, it died randomly. Not the ideal situation for someone who doesn't know a motor from a steering wheel. Enter Round Lake Marina. Darrin, Rick and Aaron came to our rescue, gave the boat a nice little tune up at our dock and made sure "girls week" wasn't spent looking longingly at the lake. They've earned a customer for life starting now!!!
