I visited Leilani's garden this week. They have a wonderful selection of flowering plants. Friendly employees and great prices.

If you need any kind of help figuring out what stone or weight they will work with you. They will sell rocks & stone pennies to the pound for those small step or path projects. Pick from their loose pallets or purchase a ton to be loaded into your pickup or trailer. My only suggestion for them is, "why not put in a scale when approaching the yard. This: The first number on the scale is the gross weight of the box, bucket, or truck with all the stone. The tare weight is also displayed, which reflects the weight of the container or vehicle holding the material. When the tare weight is subtracted from the gross weight, you wind up with the net weight.

In the Spring and Summer, they have a great selection of Hostas and Ferns and many great flowering bushes and trees. Recently, I have purchased three Japanese Maples and am very pleased with them. They also had squares of Zoysia grass that I picked up to fill in some bare spots in my yard. Their prices are better than the big chain stores, and they always are well-staffed with friendly, knowledgeable associates. I live about 40 minutes away from All Green, but they are worth the drive.

I called in advance to make sure he would be around and that also gave him the time to get the bag of worms together for me before I got there. Tim Herron works out of his home, which is a few miles from the North Georgia Premium Outlets (in case you want to plan shopping beforehand), and is very friendly and easy to talk to. Getting there does involve driving for a short stint on somewhat rough pebble roads so keep that in mind before you show up in a 2-door coupe like i did :) After a quick tour of his garden and current projects, and giving me some advice on how not to kill my worms, Tim charged me something like $28 for my 1 pound of worms, which is very comparable to the price you'd find anywhere, including Amazon.com. As an added bonus, he also gave me a small bag of completed compost/worm castings with instructions to make worm tea with while I wait for my own first batch of castings because he said that's what most people are after when they start vermicomposting. He uses it in his own garden and you would not believe the size of his vegetables. That was 2 days ago and my worms are all still very lively and doing their thing. I'm still a bit obsessed with checking on them and I'm sure they hate it. In any case, I recommend visiting Tim if you need to buy some worms to help in composting or to help out your garden. His business card also mentions wholesale of New Zealand Red Rabbits but I'm not sure if that's available (only because my allergic-to-everything Yorkie is on a canned rabbit & potato diet and the manufacturer said there's a rabbit shortage in the country at the moment).

Then when I asked him to put the hay in the truck without throwing it, he threw the next bale on the wet ground and said load it your cuss word self. I asked him to just place it on the trailer floor and I would get it from there. He did and then walked to the store yelling profanities and names at me. I am a 71year old woman that has been shopping there for 7 years. When I complained to the owner's daughter, she said I'd been rude to her once when I told her I'd already heard about her disabilities when I'd been waiting while she explained them to the previous customer. I had waited patiently for 15 minutes while she was talking. In fact, she has told me about her disabilities every time I come in to shop. Most of the time I spend 10 to 15 letting her talk. But today I had a roofer on the way to fix my leaky roof. I used to spend about $300 a month there until they stopped carrying Southern States chicken feed. Then I still tried to buy as much as I can there to support local stores. Lately the pine bark is always wet and the cracked corn is mostly dust. So, I was getting hay there. But no more. These people do not know how to treat customers except for the gentleman owner. He seems to be letting his daughter and the red headed guy take over. Too bad. You just lost all my business.
