Leigh Hilton has been my attorney for about 15 years. She set up wills and trusts for me and my husband before he passed away in 2011. She then helped me through the probate process and I really appreciated the fact that the majority of my estate was in a trust and totally private from the rest of the world. We set up a living trust because my husband was dying before his father. He wanted to ensure I would receive his father's estate. Hilton law firm did not tell us that items that go into a trust fall under the IRS rule of five-year dispersal. Instead of inheriting annuities and IRAs paid out over my retirement years, I have to accelerate the dispersal and pay taxes on the full amount in the next five years. It's information we needed to set up our trust correctly. That's one problem we experienced with this firm. I can name many more. They didn't listen when we explained our situation. read more

Incompetent. Did not complete what we hired them to do in the required time frame. Needed to have my mom's Trust updated, a Trust they had made significant changes to only a year prior, and for which they were well paid. Only needed to change a trustee and make a few other very minor changes this time. Due to mom's age, there was some urgency. Called the office in August of 2022, emphasizing the urgency at that time. We went to pick up the updated Trust today, April 3, 2023. Took them 40 minutes to find it in a very small office. Nearly 8 months to get something so simple done. Reminded them repeatedly as the months passed of the need to get this done promptly. So many delays and excuses. Unfortunately, it is too late now for our needs, and my mom's wishes for her estate may not be able to be carried out. read more

Leigh Hilton and her staff kept putting my dad's medicaid case on the back burner and coming up with excuses to not return the money that was requested up front after their attorneys did nothing and kept missing due dates and hearings.
