They also have their own gallery on their 2nd floor and currently they are exhibiting BILLY ZANE - A GUY WALKS INTO A BAR & DENNYS ILIC HOLLYWOOD BLACK AND WHITE. Just beautiful images. Their staff is wonderful & friendly. They do have free valet parking and small parking infront. Overall, lovely place and can't wait to come back for their next exhibition. read more

This is a beautiful Leica Store, with its own photographic gallery on the second level. Easy parking in the small shopping center's parking lot. I've been a fan of Leica cameras for years and going into a camera store devoted to Leica is so much fun. They are the most exquisite cameras. I have a Leica M camera that needed repair so I took it here and they were very nice about sending it for repair of its faulty sensor and honoring my warranty, even though I had purchased it at another store. My one gripe is this store's lack of confidentiality and use of their client's information, including personal account security. The curator in the photo gallery upstairs that I had spoken to briefly in the shop obtained my personal phone number from the Leica retail store without my authorization and she proceeded to call me to discuss my family and things that had absolutely nothing at all to do with the Leica Store, my camera equipment or even the gallery. She admitted that she was able to access my account and Leica camera's repair records that had my phone number and personal information from the store records; she didn't even work in that department. I found this to be really inappropriate and intrusive, especially since my number is unlisted. I made sure to be quick when I picked up my camera when it was back from repair, and have avoided this store ever since. I didn't complain to the store, which I probably should have, but I am mentioning it here. It was a very intrusive experience, and I try to stay away from this West Hollywood store and any of their event invitations, but have since been to Leica boutiques in other cities. You can probably find a regular stock Leica camera for a better value/less money elsewhere, but by buying it in the Leica Store, you may get a lot more benefits. The Leica USA warranty is excellent. They also have access to limited special editions, all the fabulous accessories and the many different colored cases, straps and things that can make your Leica even more special. If you're looking for a special limited edition Leica camera, a rare lens, or one of the new Leica branded watches, this is the place to find it. read more

I was lucky enough to have Chern answer the phone at the Leica Store when I called in late 2024 looking to purchase a new M11. I had shot an M6 many years ago but hadn't picked up a Leica rangefinder since. Chern was knowledgeable, kind, understanding and extremely helpful. Not only that, but he's a professional working photographer and actually uses the cameras he sells. I came to the store the next day and walked out with a new M11-P and two lenses. Chern took the time to help me unbox the camera, register my warranty and made sure I understood how everything worked and that I felt comfortable with my new gear. Having purchased more cameras and gear from Chern since, and seeing him at the wonderful and numerous events hosted at the Leica Gallery, I happily now consider him a friend, as well. Leica makes the best cameras in the world and their sales staff and experience should live up to that standard. Thanks to Yelp Elite's ticket for Rose and Bubbles Wine festival, we got to check out this place. It is a few blocks away from Bervely shopping center, across Cedar Sinai Medical center... so parking can be a bit tight. We were lucky to find parking by street meter. You can park at Bervely shopping but it takes about 10 min walk. The space is relatively small although they have a nice outdoor seating. There are nice collections of cameras. The Rose and Bubbles wine festival ticket is quite expensive. Regular ticket for 2 hours is $125. VIP pass is $150. Dinner event is $250 per person. There are about 20+ wineries, mochi ice cream and some snacks or hors d'oeuvres which are very limited (salad and cake). The silent auctions are including vacation packages to Hawaii and Europe starting at $1000. Overall, we enjoyed the experience thanks to Yelp's given away tickets but I'm not sure if I would pay for the event since it is quite expensive! read more

I wished I would have gotten the managers name but I called right after we shut down due to the Corona virus and the manager answered, I explained to him that I needed a lens cap for my camera/lens and he said they were closed and I caught him right as he was leaving. He still went and found the cap that I needed and shipped it to me. I was soo grateful and I thanked him a million times. He could have told me no but he didn't. I've been here a few times, I bought my Leica Q here (great camera, by the way) and various accessories for my Leica M cameras. The staff are very helpful, and they have pretty much everything Leica makes in stock. They may not have some things like newly-released items in stock for sale, but they almost always have one there to try out. What's weird is that I've never been to the gallery upstairs. Well I took the lyft to the Rose and Bubbly wine event and I can say this was a very nice venue they had it at. The Rose and Bubbly was very organized and more than plenty of vendors with good wine to drink. They had some small bites of hors d'oeuvres. They also had a few people coming out with trays of caviar. The lady who own the gallery was available and very nice. I got on emailing list for future events. I did buy 6 bottles of Vina Sympatica it was violent wine which I never experienced. read more

Far more a gallery than a retail store ( though you can certainly buy a Leica there) its a true hidden gem right at the edge of the WEHO design district. It's a bit of a hoof from most of the major galleries but it's so worth the drive especially with the current Cartier-Bresson exhibit. There are many other artists works on view as well, in every nook and cranny of the place. Plenty of parking nearby and a few solid eateries to boot. Can't say enough about the Leica store/gallery, and I can't wait to go back read more

I spent 16k on a camera with an assumption that when you spend that kind of money you get long-term support. I had a corroded sensor that was a common manufacturing problem with my model and brought it in and the guy, rather rudely, told me that they should replace it for free but they just don't anymore. Then he kept trying to sell me a new camera at full price. I said, buddy, if you just ripped me off on a 16k camera, do you think we're ever going to business again? Thought I was a customer for life but getting a defective item, being told that they should replace it for free but simply do not anymore was spit in my face. Worse, I had been there recently and they had told me it was fixable at a cost. I didn't have the money just then so I waited a few months and came back to be told that also wasn't even an option. By their own admission it's BS to not do it for free but it's additionally BS to not have been told it was now or never to pay to get it fixed the last time I was in. They change the rules all the time without warning and the only thing I could count on them for was to constantly keep pushing me to buy a new one at a full price. It had been a good camera but for that kind of money, I could never buy a camera that might be defective in a few years that they won't even repair. I was stupid to waste that kind of money in the first place I guess. Be smart and look at Hasselblatt, I guess. read more

Ok. I'm biased here. I've been a Leica fan for over 20 years. I bought a used M6 from a camera store in Sacramento. After that, I was hooked, for life. There's nothing like a Leica in the hand. They just feel different. Anyway, onto the store: Leica Los Angeles is THE place to buy Leica gear. Look, I get it BH Photo is easy, but unlike BH this store is local to CA, and they have expertise that is second to none. I've also had a great deal of luck getting things at this store that are otherwise impossible to get - like the new SL2. Oh, I should mention they offer classes, and they have a gallery on the second floor. The classes are sensational. I took the portraiture class. If you're in the market for Leica gear - including sports optics - pop in. You won't be disappointed. read more

I will say right off the bat: I am a LEICA FAN!! I love their brand stores, each one having its own personality but staying true to the Leica look. This store is F---ing Amazing, physically i mean. It's a huge place for a one brand camera store. Half the store is a great open area Gallery for Photo shows. The other half is a wonderland for Leica nerds. Having been to hundreds of camera stores over the years, it's so great to have a store allow you to handle the cameras without the pressure of a salesperson giving you the hard-sell. They know their product, they know their clientele and they like to geek-out on the equipment with you. Even if you aren't in the market for a camera, this place is great for meeting other photogs and photo fans, checking out a workshop or the occasional Gallery opening event. read more

Everything about this store is impeccable--the design, the gallery space, the staff (not that I'd expect anything less from Leica). Sussan helped me out with the camera I was interested in purchasing and spent a lot of time with me discussing photography, the camera features and demonstrating the equipment. It was like a mini photography lesson--which as someone just getting into photography I sincerely appreciated. This is definitely the kind of place that values relationships and I feel like I could call or stop by with any kind of question and they would be glad to help. I went to this Leica store, Sept 4 Thursday. Traffic was not bad and parking was free, reserved for Leica customers, with an attendant on duty. The store itself is impressive. How should it not be, the brand name of the product requires nothing less. But what impressed me most was customer service. I was assisted by Rob. He was dressed smart and cosmopolitan, but not intimidating. in fact, he was so affable and friendly and patient. I am not really a techie, so I brought my Leica for assistance to enable its WiFi feature. Rob walked me through the process. He did it with ease, oh well, expectedly, though he got into a problem because the app I had downloaded was the Leica Image Shuttle. Oh well, this was what was recommended in the handbook. Rob said I should have downloaded Leica Foto. We did, but bummer, I could not recall my password for the App Store. I didn't want to drive back and travel 2 hours from Irvine. Rob saved me the hustle because he tried to and did connect my Leica and my cell via the Leica Shuttle. That's what experts are for, but most experts are not known for their patience. Rob had it, lucky me. And not only did he get my Leica to connect to the Wifi but made sure, my app not being Leica Foto, that the connection was the right one. Rob suggested that I visit the gallery, which indeed is another impressive feature of the store. The Leica collections are to hope for, but I will have to work more to be able to get another one. For now, I am happy with the Leica I have. And I am ready for our next travel in two weeks because my Wifi has been set up. Thank you, Rob. I am always happy to write reviews when I get good service. I recently started shooting Leica...so I'm still learning the 'Leica ways'. I stopped buy the LA store today. I took a few minutes to browse the store which is VERY cool. There were a few customers being helped, but within minutes, Danny DeGennaro stepped over and asked if I needed help. I was looking for some accessories for my M...he was beyond helpful and explained everything to me. He even took a look at a used lens I purchased and gave me his assessment. He let me try out a few lenses for my M10 and had some great advice for me. Someone else said this, but it's similar to the Apple experience, but I would say it's a step up from that. Danny put me on the invite list for events at the store which I'm looking forward to. It's great to find cool people working at cool places! read more

I have a pristine, hardly used Type 109 (a $1000 street shooter) that came up with 2 warranty issues. 1) The telescopic lens design can suck dust onto the sensor.    From what I have learned, even though I have hardly strayed from my living room with this camera, dust will get sucked past the lens barrel when you retract the lens.   I can't imagine how this would work in the field or on a Ne York street corner. 2)The camera shuts off when pointed upwards I took it to the Los Angeles Leica store, where I have done business before. They are very friendly there, especially when you walk in with a well-heeled buddy who owns and buys lots of Leica gear. As a matter of fact, in the middle of pitching my friend heavily, Michael Baker offered that he would be my ambassador for my Leica's repair. Made me feel good! 3 weeks later I get an estimate for half the value of the camera from Leica repair in New Jersey - Almost $300. I told them it was under warranty. They claimed they did not have me in their system (even though I knew I had gone to a lot of rouble to register the camera correctly with Leica?? Michael forced me to dig up my receipt, then told me there was nothing he could do, that I would have to settle it with New Jersey. Some ambassador huh? His attitude changed quickly when there was no selling opportunity with my friend! I actually found a copy of my very valid warranty registration and emailed it back to Michael and Leica repair in New Jersey. While I got an insincere apology, Leica tried to NOT honor their warranty and waste a lot of my time. So it was Leica's product design, their fouled up warranty registration and their sub-par customer service that were the issues here!. These are not the indicators of a premier brand but more the indicators of an arrogant organization. Sorry. No more Leicas for me. They just lost a couple customers. I'm Nikon from here out. read more

Yes, they have all the nice cameras and lenses for you to play with, but the real draw is to find a little inspiration. They have a great (and I do mean great) selection of photobooks chosen by Martin Parr himself, an exhibition space, and a patio to hang out with other photographers. The sales staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and their Leica Akademie workshops promise to be worthwhile. Since Leica is the Apple of the camera world, this is the place for photographers to gather and have fun. read more
