As I entered he greeted me with: If you have a question on anything, let me know. He was seated behind the counter and allowed me to browse and shop to my heart's content. I found both useful and whimsical items to give to special ones on my shopping list. I spent $190 at one crack... shhh don't tell hubs. Luckily he came looking for me after I completed paying for the purchases. All handmade items, I found cleverly made pink jellyfish ornaments made out of whole sea urchin shells with pink ribbons and some pretty bling embellishments dangling down. They will go on our Xmas tree. I also bought a wreath made out of seashells and ocean glass with a pretty mermaid at the bottom center. I'm thinking of giving it to little sweetie for her birthday. I found a beautiful multicolored shawl for $75 crafted from yarn so soft to the touch. Perhaps after the pandemic is done I can use at a future Yelp event at Blue Note...fingers crossed. The prices I paid for each item were good, the shawl being more costly but you get what you pay for in terms of enjoyment of the receiver who hopefully appreciates the craftsmanship or creativity of the artist. Mark shared two craft events, one being in Eugene around Thanksgiving time. I told him, guess we arrived too early. I love to peruse at my own admiring slow pace in shops like this- remarkable hands that created such items. If I lived here I would have seriously bought a fantastic rug. I had to stop myself because our fur bebe, as much as we love her, would think this is a new pee pad for her alone. Egads! It makes the best pancakes I remember ever having!. We also buy and really enjoy their Hazelnut Butter that we find at the Lane County Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. It is becoming available other places too or you can order at their website. The Hazelnut Butter is just hazelnuts ground up to spread like peanut butter but oh so much better. Sweet Life, to me, is like coming home…read more While growing up, we'd come here after pretty much anything positive to celebrate. Then, for years it was one of two places I both wanted to go to and take people to experience each time I visited. Now that I live here again, I strangely only get delivery. However, even saying the name brings on a childish grin (and possibly happy tears) to my eyes! It doesn't hurt that their key lime tart is my favorite dessert not called sorbet of all time. Oh, yes, they also have sorbet, and while it isn't on Wanderlust's level, I don't care. They execute every single thing with a level of precision and care that you just don't see often, and somehow do it in a way that feels welcoming! Thank you, Sweet Life, thank you.

I got the tiramisu and two pieces of chocolate. The tiramisu was a bit different from the ones made with ladyfingers. I think this one was made with chiffon cake instead, so the texture was a little bit dry for my liking. The flavor was good though, more on the chocolate side. I liked the earl grey chocolate, but man, I couldn't stand the little yellow dots on it. They reminded me of those little eggs from some insect that lays eggs on your clothes in the summer. The earl grey filling was nice, smooth and citrusy. The passionfruit chocolate was really cute, kinda had the look of a quail egg shell. The filling was a bit more sour compared to the earl grey one. But in general both chocolates were quite similar. My partner had the zucchini pound cake, and he loved it a lot. I don't know much about Eugene, as we were just passing through on our road trip, but I'd definitely recommend people come here when they visit Eugene.
