Now it's past the time I had to schedule the vacation in April so now I have to goto Disney in the summer time when it's even more crowded and I don't get to escape this brutal Pennsylvania cold weather. While the principal wasn't calling me back I guess she was talking to my kids mother and she told her, according to the kids mother that the kids are only allowed to have 10 unexcused absences for 5 years. I never heard of such a thing, so the option of just taking them without the permission was out the window due to the scare fracture they put on the mother.

There is an organized schedule for each age group which includes education, indoor play time, outside time, story time and various other activities. The center makes certain that the concepts and skills that are taught adequately prepare children for a successful kindergarten year. The management and staff are patient and kind while still maintaining discipline when needed. They have become a part of our family! It is always difficult to leave your children in someone else's care and finding a child care provider you can trust is vital. Both my children were happy, well cared for and comfortable from day one!

We enrolled our son at The Hillside School in second grade. He was there for three years then re-enrolled in seventh grade to help pilot the middle school program. The strategies he was taught in reading and writing along with skills in meta-cognition and self-advocacy have successfully supported him through high school and he will graduate in June. He was recently re-evaluated by our local school district in preparation for college admission. While he will always have a learning difference, he has tested out of needing specially designed instruction and hence an IEP. The faculty and staff at The Hillside School have consistently guided us with compassion and respect. Our investment in our son's education in his elementary and middle school years has been worth the time, effort and money put forth. My gratitude for Hillside is deep and wide. When our child started school, it was apparent that they had repurposed an old storage room, and that the student:teacher ratio was far worse than advertised. When we complained about the state of the classroom, rather than do the right thing and hire additional staff, the school administration expelled our child from the school on zero days' notice, despite having no documented behavioral or academic issues of any kind. During the expulsion meeting, the administration admitted to being unable to hire additional staff and _intentionally_ overbooking the class sizes during registration. The founder of this school is obsessed with metrics. If your child represents a threat to one of those metrics (be it student-teacher ratio, standardized test scores, etc.) then they will absolutely throw your child under the bus to make the school look better. Be warned.
