You can feel they truly care about their patients and they have always made my times here a great experience! The recommendations and treatments they provide are specific for the issue and it has made a positive difference for me. They do everything they can to help you get well again and I really like their approach of trying to help the body heal with natural treatments before going to medications, while not avoiding medication if necessary. In general everything about this clinic is fantastic. The people are very nice, the atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant, the food is healthy and very good, the rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. After being transferred from Grants, NM, to Las Cruces, NM, and then to El Paso, we were told they would better manage his condition. He had a serious mass in his throat that was a huge issue, and he was struggling, but he was still fighting. The night he arrived, I was informed that he became very irate and agitated and that the staff told me that they were going to be releasing my father, against the doctor's recommendations. After calling two security guards and then strapping my father to his hospital bed, they decided to administer medication to calm him. I was later told that shortly afterward, his heart stopped, CPR was performed, and he was intubated, despite the fact that he had a DNR in place!!!!!! I can't for the life of me, EVEN BEGIN to wrap my head around how he went from being so full of life, causing so much chaos, to being put on life support not even 8 hours after arriving at this hospital!!! We have not yet received a clear, detailed explanation of what occurred in his final hours. Losing a parent is devastating. Not having clear communication or a full understanding of what happened makes it even harder. I am currently requesting his full medical records in hopes of getting answers. I encourage other families to stay involved, ask questions, and advocate for their loved ones' care and wishes. Furthermore, I ONLY GAVE THEM 1 STAR BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T LET ME NOT GIVE THEM ANY!!!!

PLEASE READ if you find yourself needing to advocate for a vulernable loved one. My experience is frustrating and frankly alarming. The provider in this case, Nurse Practioner Jacob Butler demonstrated what I can only describe as a concerning level of indifference and lack of engagement in my mother's care. As the MPOA I made repeated efforts to comunicate, advocate, and ensure appropriate decisions were made. However, those efforts were largely dismissed and ignored, till I indicated I would be writing this review! There was a clear unwillingness to listen, colloborate, or take my concerns seriously. Most troubling was the refusal to pursue a judges order for neccessary pyschotrophic meds despite clear medical need. The justification was the patient was not "aggresive"-is not only inadequate but misleading in the interpertation of Texas Law. Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 573 explains reasons for Emergency Detention. Texas Health and Safety Code 574, and 574.106 for Court-Ordered Administration of Psychoactive Medications. None of which state aggresive behavior as a criteria with "self-harm" being broader than the explantion suggested to me. Throughout this process, repeated attempts to communicate with her provider were met with dismissiveness, minimal engagement, and questionable clinical judgment. Families should not have to struggle this hard to ensure their loved ones receive appropriate care.

My former doctor, Dr. Martinez-Barrios is located in this hospital. I had some procedures done with him sometime back. The hospital was always clean. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. You have to know a little bit of Spanish to get by here. Hardly any of the employees speak English. They may know and understand English but won't speak it. My doctor was the only one who spoke English on several occasions. Getting healthcare services in Mexico is different from the U.S. Everything has to be paid beforehand or service isn't rendered. Anyone can get medical service/healthcare in the U.S. whether they have the money to pay for it or not upfront. They can be billed for it. If you're staying in the hospital, they won't let you out until you pay off the entire bill. Be sure to have the money or else you're stuck until someone brings it to you. The rate of the peso changes everyday so it's best to stay on top of it online. Hospital Angeles accepts U.S. currency or pesos. If you have a way of exchanging dollars to pesos, do it because they usually won't give you your change in U.S. dollars. It will be in pesos. Be sure to always have cash, U.S. or pesos because there are fees for using a U.S. credit card. Sometimes they won't even accept it at Hospital Angeles. I always asked for the exact amounts beforehand so that I'm prepared for payments. They will sometimes convert it to U.S. dollars but not all the time. You can do a Google search to know exactly how much you're paying. Blood tests here were around $100-$125. Doctor's visits were about $30. The hospital has a restaurant, gift shop and pharmacy on the first floor. I was told the meds are more expensive here so I always bought them at other pharmacies around Juarez. Would I come back? Yes, because of the more reasonable prices. I think U.S. healthcare is overpriced, even with insurance. It's not always the best service, either. I hardly ever drove into Juarez or Hospital Angeles. I would walk in via the Cordova Bridge and get an Uber at the bridge. The Uber cost between $6-10 each way. That may seem like a lot but that's what worked for me. I sort of got lost driving around so I preferred doing this. Trust me when I say you don't want to get lost in Juarez. I'm not going to lie, Juarez can be dangerous but sometimes the crime is hyped up in the media. If you go, just pay extra attention to your surroundings at all times.

She had a full nephrectomy at Hospital Angeles and she had kidney stone surgery a year earlier. Yes, it would help to speak Spanish; yet the service has been nothing less than superb. If you don't speak fluent Spanish they have what they call the public relations department which is really like a world class customer service department. All of their Public Relations department staff speak fluent English. They always have someone who speaks English on duty 24/7. I live in El Paso. One evening my wife was in a great deal of pain. My choices were either hours in an Emergency Room in El Paso or "hoof it" for Hospital Angeles. In the time it took to complete the Hospital Angeles intake paperwork; they had a translator with us and less than five minutes later a doctor was helping my wife. We had a diagnosis and prescription and were on our way home in less than 30 minutes. The total bill was about $75. Try to do that stateside. If you go to Hospital Angeles ask one of the security personnel to direct you to the Public Relations Department. Ask for Jesus or Daniella. They will help you. If you need any bloodwork or radiology tests ask for Alejandra or Itzel. Both speak a little English yet they always get the tests performed correctly. If you need to be admitted to the Hospital ask if Laura is available. Laura no longer works in admissions; yet she works on the first floor about 50 feet from the admissions office. Laura is my wife's "Angel". She speaks fluent English and gets things done. If she is available she will help you. One more line about superb service. The night after the kidney surgery my wife was in great pain about 3:00am. In a matter of several minutes they had an English speaking nurse come and adjust the IV. She stayed with my wife for just over an hour and a half until my wife was comfortable and sound asleep Great people and great service
