Great location, reasonable prices, and wonderful staff!…read more Very friendly proprietor who helped us with the coin-op machines: we were in unfamiliar territory as we were traveling from the USA and at the midpoint of our trip. The launderette is open 08:00 to 20:00, Monday-Saturday; 08:00 to 18:00 on Sunday. Last wash is one hour before closing. There are other stores within walking distance if one wishes to eat or pick up groceries or other supplies.

In the middle of the washing machines you have a water extractor as well. You can wash your duvets and pillows in the big ones as well. At the end of the shop you have a soap powder dispenser, which is 20p a cup. Small washing machine are £4 medium washing machine £5 large washing machine £6. Dryer 20p for 5mins or £1 for up to 30mins or £2 for up to an hour which literally dries everything. They have benches fixed near the dryers so while you wait for your clothes you can sit and talk to some of the locals or just mind your own business and read a paper or listen to your ipod, If you get peckish while you wait their are newsagents and other eateries around.

It's £4 for a washing machine, and dryer is £1 for twelve minutes. I used two machines to wash and two to dry. I put £2 into each dryer. So overall it cost me £12 to do an absolute mass of clothes, not bad! And the man working there must have noticed it was my first time using a laundrette so he helped me figure out the machines. They can change money for you as well. If you want to avoid that then take £1 and 20p coins.

Although the staff are friendly and clearly a family run business, the quality of the service they provide is very disappointing. I took a skirt in to have a new zip fitted. The skirt was brand new with tags still attached but as it had a broken zip I had been able to secure it at a bargain price. When I collected the skirt I was surprised to see they had chosen to use a metal zip when the original had been nylon. The zip subsequently caught the lining in it and jammed and the staff told me that I would have to be very careful not to jam it in future. At home the zip broke completely as I was trying the skirt on and to make matters worse I discovered the metal zip is completely exposed whereas the original is completely concealed for a smart look. This should have been a simple task and I now have to pay another £7 to have the same procedure repeated or attempt it myself! The lining had several rips now as a result of this botched job. I am extremely dissatisfied with the result. I would not recommend this place for alterations or repairs although the launderette facilities may be better...

Attendant wasn't friendly at the start, but eventually turned into great and friendly service, with good guidance. Need to go with cash money to make everything easy! Unfortunately, there is a sign on the store suggesting that the laundry shop is closing down - not sure if it's changing owners or completely closing. But for us, was a great convenience esp since we were at a hotel around the corner where the same service would cost 22 pounds + tax!

My advice is to ask to see the price list before committing to their service. I am sharing this because I took an item in today for dry cleaning and the price jumped up significantly. What was previously 8£ , the lady wanted to charge me 14£. She cited that stains is extra. There were no notably stains (food, coffee ..nothing). It needed cleaning from normal wears. Out of principle, I took my item to another store nearby.
