We bought from Legendary. Watch out for the GST scam they pull. Watch out for the conflicting wording in the contracts they use. Always use your own realtor to represent you, never use theirs.
Industry standards need to be revised if what we have here is acceptable. Home Warrantee less than useless. Deficiencies person: No follow through
Plumbing materials: Query cheap and breaking down with shoddy installation.
Laminate floor: Poor quality.
Builder installed washers and dryers improperly set up and literally rock out the doors - not addressed.
Concrete: many garage floors had to be replaced which makes you wonder what lurks beneath the carpeting in your basement. The city compelled them to replace sidewalks and curbs through out the neighbourhood due to poor cement quality.
Landscaping: Buried construction debris through out the yards of the development e.g. siding, chunks of cement, tile etc... Yards don't drain. The grass in the boulevards and yards is dying off for lack of sufficient topsoil beneath it. Home Warrantee doesn't cover this.
Vaulted ceilings in some master bedrooms are cracking at the peak. Crooked walls.
We started out thrilled. The GST issue made us loose faith in Legendary's integrity.
Improper installs through the complex have caused problems. Instead of re-installing the things properly Legendary prefers to do the band aide approach and 'adjust'.
Drywall/Paint: Watch out for marks in the dry wall, unpainted patches, wrong paint etc.
A word of advice to Legendary: Be up front. Use clearly worded contracts. Have translators available if your trades people need to deal with home owners who only speak English. Deficiencies usually aren't huge, stop trying to band aide them. read more
