I want to tell any potential renters how terrible it was renting and to avoid this place. I moved in legend house in 2011, moved out in 2014 and have seen 3 managers come on board- two were fired.
The first manager looked like a bowl legged, creepy mongoloid & was fired for stealing from the laundry card machine, hitting on young college students & duping unsuspecting college students out of money by pocketing "extras" like a parking spot (which should be included in the rent price) and stealing the non-refundable cleaning fee.
The second landlord was a bewildered, disabled senior citizen who was a chatty Kathy and loved to spread gossip about all of the other tenants of both buildings. Not only that but he was a rude, clueless person who was abruptly fired just like the one before him. He harassed me because he wanted to come in my apartment with out me being present and flipped out on me over the phone, hung up on me twice.
They decided to continue to raise rent each year, yet, no upgrades. Building stinks like pot & rotting old carpet. Then in October, they go ahead and force us into a tack on expense / additional fee for the water.
I am not interested in wasting my hard earned money. $146.00 for 1 month of water? No way I used that much water. They divide the water bill up amongst the tenants- totally not fair when you have 7 unreported people living in a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment and then me paying to take 1 shower per day?
Third landlord is yet an other creepy senior citizen who's missing his front teeth & most likely has 1 foot in the nursing home. Doesn't return my calls or keep promises. Appears just as useless as the first two.
I want to talk about how very miserable it is doing laundry in the basement. Waiting until its your turn. You must go outside to a second building with cash for the laundry card machine. The building is too old to retro fit it with a new machine.
My apartment had black MOLD coming through the outside wall into my unit.
Walls are paper thin. You can hear everything from people having conversations, what they watch on TV to every step taken above or below you.
My car was broken into and I informed landlord #2, he became defensive and acted as if it was somehow my fault. I was only telling him so he might warn the other tenants but he was too ignorant to understand my intentions.
This building was broken into a total of 3 times while I lived there as well.
Honestly, I'm not a malicious person. I almost did not write this. . But I want to warn any people, especially college students (like I was) to find a better place/ manager.
You don't want to be dealing with trying to work/ make grades then have to deal with incompetent, uneducated, undertrained, poor customer service skills and just plain idiots like I had to.
Maybe the newest landlord will read this and actually return my call to explain to me why my $300.00 security deposit was deducted for $146.00 for 1 months worth of water sewer garbage. Complete horse sh*t they they ripped me off and do not return my call after two days. read more
