Although I haven't had issues with the school or my child's teacher. I did want to mention, the front desk staff suck ass! There is usually 2 women, they do not give off a friendly personality nor are they welcoming. When you walk in they just keep staring at you and or avoid you until they finally say "hello". I never see them smile at parents/families unless they are talking within themselves. They need to do better, work on their customer service or just simply hire better welcoming friendlier staff. read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I have received at least 3 emails from the school saying "Leave us a review!" So... here you go. I am not a fan of Legacy Phoenix; and I want to emphasize that it is THIS Legacy location that I do not like. My daughter went to Legacy Surprise from Kinder to First grade, and it was WONDERFUL. Teachers were attentive and willingly to work with you, there were community events going on multiple times a month... Legacy Surprise really made their school a wonderful place to be. Then we moved and had to enroll my daughter in Legacy Surprise for 2nd grade... and it was a complete change. Despite the school being larger and clearly more funded (as they offer free breakfast and lunch to ALL students); there were hardly any community events. They sure do like to ask for money via 101 fundraisers... but no fun events for the kids And families to attend! When they did have events, parents were notified a few days prior, giving little to no time to plan. The next issue was the teacher my daughter had. During 2nd grade, my daughter was sick often and missed school quite a bit. This lead to her grades slipping. After failing 2 quarters, I reached out to the teacher to ask about how makeup work was going for the weeks my daughter missed. The response? "Legacy does not allow makeup work." It wasn't until my daughter was at risk of failing a 3rd quarter that I reached out to the assistant principal for clarification. Her response? "Legacy does allow make up work as long as it is completed with in a week of the date that it was missed"... When I told her about what my daughter's teacher had said, she promised to look into it. It was only after the assistant principal got involved that my daughter was allowed to do make up work and her grades began to improve. During my daughter's 2nd grade year, she also contracted lice TWICE from another student in her class. When she got it the first time, we notified the school. What were we told? "As long as she had treatment 24 hrs ago, she can come back to school"... Sorry, WHAT? My daughter has an active life infestation, and you want her in class with other students? But okay, fine. We send her back, doing treatments and preventative care until she's clear. 2 weeks later, she comes home with lice again. At no point was the class noticed that there was a lice outbreak, and at no point were we told to keep students home to prevent spreading. After 2nd grade was over, we decided if we had this many issues again during 3rd grade then we would consider pulling my daughter out of Legacy Phoenix. That leads us to the current 2026-2027 school year... about a week ago, we received this incredibly condescending and tone deaf email basically telling us that it didn't matter if our kids were sick, we should be sending them to school under threat of truancy and calls to CPS. So despite that my daughter had signs of a stomach bug today, I sent her to school. I then called the health office and explained that if my daughter came to the nurse today with concerns about her stomach, I need to be informed so I can come pick her up. What did the nurse say? She told me I should have kept my daughter home, that the school has had a string of kids with a stomach bug. She said the only way to make sure it didn't spread was to keep my daughter home when she's sick. So I told the nurse about the email, and she was shocked and appalled. It was clear she had NO idea the administration had sent this email, and that she strongly disagreed with it. She took down my daughter's information, and told me that if my daughter came in that she would call me. So far, not off to a strong start this school year. If issues like this continue to happen, we will not be re-enrolling for the 2027-2028 school year. Any time someone asks me if I would recommend Legacy Phoenix, I tell them a hard NO! Public schools are better than Legacy Phoenix at this point. There you go, Miss Nancy Gonzalez. I hope you like the review you keep hounding parents for via ParentSquare :) read more

My daughter started kindergarten in August 2026, but unfortunately, she only attended for 15 days. During that time, she would cry every morning, saying that she felt lost and would refuse to go inside the school. I truly appreciate the two teachers who stood by the gates each morning greeting the children. They made an effort to comfort my daughter, and I am very grateful for their kindness and support. They were amazing. However, I was not as happy with her classroom teacher, Mrs. R. I often found her messages confusing, and at times it seemed like she had too much on her plate to properly focus on my daughter or communicate clearly with me. One situation in particular concerned me. My daughter came home and told me that her teacher had tossed her hand sanitizer. I reached out to the teacher to ask what had happened, and her response was, "Yes, it was leaking all over my other students. Thank you for asking." While I understand that the sanitizer may have been leaking, I felt that the response was dismissive, especially because my daughter was one of her students at the time. As parents, we work hard to purchase supplies for our children, and I would have appreciated a more considerate explanation and communication. When I decided to withdraw my daughter from the school, I specifically requested that all of her school supplies be sent home with her. Unfortunately, they were not returned. This was very upsetting because parents spend their hard-earned money purchasing supplies for their children, often trying to provide them with the best they can. Another major concern was the one-hour wait to pick up my child. Having to wait that long to pick up a kindergarten student was extremely draining and added even more stress to an already difficult situation. Overall, I am grateful to the staff members who made an effort to comfort my daughter, especially the two teachers at the gates. However, based on our experience with communication, the handling of my daughter's belongings, and the lengthy pickup process, I ultimately felt that the school was not the right fit for her. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! The front desk office staff is horrible. The principal and assistant principal refuses to meet with parents when concerns are expressed. They do not enforce IEPs. They refuse children from using the bathroom. They do not know where the kids are supposed to be. My child was signed up for an afterschool program. 1st time the teacher let him sleep. 2 other times he was in the wrong location. read more

This school teachs your kids good but to save you from a Heart attack when you pick up your kids they always mess it up so if you act like for your daughter, they bring her to the other a different way and when you're in a different way so it's safe for a heart attack. Don't go to the school. read more

This school is absolute crap. So, me personally I go here and it sucks. My parents don't agree with the school dress code policy as much as I do. There are also many other things that people don't know like kids being racist. Then the school says they'll take care of it and yet they don't. Now today when I was at school my teacher said that we have a dress code for hair? I absolutely did NOT agree. I have blue pieces of hair that my mom spent almost 7 HOURS dying my hair to just hear my teacher say that I can't have my hair dyed and it has to be natural. Also did I mention that she said I have to study for half an hour before I use the bathroom when having to go really bad. This school has mental issues. read more

This school is an absolute joke. The computer teacher, Ms. Kelch, has been verbally abusive to my niece and other students. The front desk lady, Nancy, is hands down the rudest person I've ever had to deal with she doesn't help, she doesn't care, and she would rather get smart with you than actually handle the urgent reason you're calling. My niece was given a glitched school computer, and instead of fixing it, they've refused to help. You cannot get a principal on the phone not for this, not for anything. They hide behind emails and avoid accountability while kids are being mistreated. I am now having to involve my attorney because this school clearly doesn't care about children's well-being. Save your kids from the mental abuse, neglect, and unprofessionalism that goes on here. The fact that there are so many other reviews saying the same thing should tell you this is nothing new. Disgusting. read more

Pick. Up my daughter early and now I'm stuck in line because they aren't organize pick up at 11:11. This school lost my respect since I have to take her to her appointment for Wednesday occupation therapy, dentist and swimming class. read more

First day of school and it was nothing by choas and confusion. Parents and students had no direction. We watched a child walk up to a teacher and say, im in 3rd grade and im lost. Teacher didn't even help or find him help. Thank goodness we were there to help guide this poor child. Pick up even worst. I was hit by another vehicle so watch out for your vehicles. I didnt catch the plate number and police wouldn't come out. But I have attached photo for others to be aware. We will be looking for a different school. read more

Hands down the worst school.... I went here for a while and the administration never handles anything if you had issues with other students or teachers, I had some issues with other students that caused serious problems... when my parents had come in, they didn't really do anything but put a small investigation on the incident. The teachers are pretty chill but the work gets out of hand especially for the younger kids... read more

My children have been attending Legacy Phoenix since 2021. I've never had any issues whatsoever. The teachers and staff are great. It is academically challenging but the teachers are always willing to help and make sure they are doing what they can to set our children up for success. The administrators are nothing less than amazing. They are very involved on campus. They are always friendly and happy to help! read more

Excellent charter school! Great teachers, great admin! Curriculum is top notch for Arizona!

Teachers attention to the students. Teachers laughing at my daughter and not doing anything to help while she was hurt at the moment and ignored her request of going to the nurse or calling me. 1 full packet of homework per night is pretty insane for the class level, no instructions or anything for parents to help at home and when we tell the school/teachers some wasn't able to get completed due to difficulties they don't care and deduct points on the students. A lot of bullying goes very often and up to date nothing still has been done or actions taken to fix any issues. Kids wake up nervous just knowing they have to go deal with that and don't have the teachers back then it comes to it. read more

I am the mother of a first grader here at Legacy and I have been so happy I put her here this year. She has improved so much thanks to the help of her teacher Mrs Edwards. The staff that I have come in contact with have been top notch and have exceeded my expectations. I would recommend Legacy to any parent in the west valley looking for a great charter school. I want to leave 5 stars but the traffic and drop off/pick up is absolutely trash. They really need to figure it out. I spent one hour and a half dropping my kid off and one hour picking her her up. If this is what the process will be like all year then I rather change her schools. read more

This school is terrible. I don't even know where to start - the pickup/drop off is absolute chaos as other reviewers have mentioned. They teach Spaulding Phonograms and will NOT help you with resources on how to help your child with it or even help your child when they ask for help. I reached out by e-mail for help and got no response. It's such a dated method that there's barely any information out there about the Spaulding Method. My child's teacher quit in the first week, and the school kept rotating substitutes through the class for over two months. During that time the children were out of control and no one would step in and discipline the kids who were disrupting the classroom despite complaints from multiple parents. My child witnessed serious physical fights, young children using racial slurs, talking about sex, and more, in front school staff with no intervention. The assistant principal assured me on two occasions that she would observe my child's classes, and she never did. When I complained to the principal about bullying, he provided me a generic bullying form to fill out and I did, but I knew it would be a waste of time. I ultimately pulled my child out of the school, as there was zero resolution to any of the issues above. read more

This school is absolutely terrible. My daughter begged to never go back because students were bullying her and hitting her. I have made it known to the principals and it was not resolved. I DO NOT and WOULD NOT recommend this school. read more

Great learning and great school and teachers. Great system and also great material to teach and work with their students.

This is the worst Legacy campus! Thank you for the update. It saddens me that the admin in charge would shift blame and state that their was conflicting stories. The only conflict is that nothing had been communicated nor followed up after speaking with admin. I received the run around. I took for me to physically come into the office for any follow ups because Mr.Brink and Mr. Reed would tell me that they'd be following up with in within the next couple of days. No one did! I have been very patient. The week would end and I still hadn't received any follow ups so I would take out of my time and go in that following Monday. My child has been mentally exhausted and broken down. Admin even confirmed that my child didn't say much. I asked that I'd be able to sit in when they spoke with her because she suffers from anxiety. She is very soft spoken and will clam up/shut down under pressure or if she feels uncomfortable. My child hide the fact that this young lady had been harassing her since the 2nd day of school because she wanted other kids to be her friend and didn't want to upset anyone. I let Mr. Brink, Mr. Reed, and Mrs.Morales know all of this. I was told by Mrs.Morales that she observed both girl's playin the playground in different areas and that everything appeared normal. I asked my child everyday how her day went and if she had been bothered that day and the young lady wasn't even at school on the day Mrs. Morales told me she observed them. The young lady has bullied my daughter in class when Mr.Brink is preoccupied. She's even keep other kids from talking to my daughter as if she doesn't exist. The other bullying has occurred when they are in line and in music/specials. My child even pointed out the bruising and scratches from the young lady scratching her on the wrist and hand, kicking her in her shin, and stomping on my child's bare foot after she lifted my daughter's leg, removed her shoe, and refused to give it back. She held my daughter's shoe above her head and mocked her. Since the school nor the district has protected my child I asked Mrs. Morales and Mr. Reed at that point should I be pressing charges against the young lady for physically assaulting my child? I'm not sure what the next steps/course of action should be. Mr. Brink has humiliated my child on numerous occasions and I also brought forth those concerns as well as asked my that my child be moved classrooms. He himself is a trigger for her. It got to the point that my daughter wouldn't even turn in her homework due to the fact that he'd prejudge her. During homework turn in he'd single my daughter out and confront her in front of the whole class by saying, " let me guess, you didn't do your homework again?". In fact, she did do the work to the best of her ability but hoarded it in her backpack because she was embarrassed because all the other students would be staring at her after she was called out publicly. This is really a shame that my child and I have to relive this experience over and over and continue to be challenged with no resolution, compassion, or empathy. I guess my child is just another statistic. The fact that her teacher verbally told me that my child frustrates him because she doesn't speak up is disturbing to me. It tells me that the staff is not equipped to deal with children who suffer from mental health, anxiety, low self esteem, learning disabilities, or lack social skills. In fact, he didn't even care any my child's academic success nor did her IEP teacher Ms.Holly. I hadn't even received any communication from Mr. Brink until I reached out 3 times about my child's progress. He didn't even have me included on the parent blast. Ms. Holly didn't update me until the Friday that Fall break started at 6:30 pm. So please tell me where I went wrong? Please tell me how this is justified and excepted? M.Ed Mr. Ellis from the district was no better. The follow up was untimely. I had to end up calling the district a second time due to lack of communication. Instead of calling me, I received the most generic response that indicated that my child was just another statistic. The lack of compassion and attention to detail was definitely consistent with the fact the NO ONE looked into anything! The lack there of indicated that CTRL + P (copy and paste) was all that my child was to this campus and district! Update: My daughter ended that week being admitted to PCH behavioral health department. She expressed not being enough, not being heard, nobody liking her, and just not wanting to exist anymore. She begged me not to make her go back! read more

I absolutely love this school! My daughter is excelling tremendously and the amount of communication that they have with the parents make things so much better! My daughter went to Litchfield elementary last year and it just wasn't the right fit! Here the teacher goes above and beyond for my daughter and I just love it! My daughter loves going to school and I would recommend it to anyone! The education and expectations they put on the children will prepare them for high school with no problem! Communication between teachers/ administrative staff and parents is nonexistent aside from an email. However do not waste your time responding to the email as you will never hear a reply back. Bullies at this school are out of control. My daughter has received hate messages on the bathroom stalls along with a death threats in 5th grade! The administration "did an investigation and came to that conclusion they could not hold anybody responsible". I have since filed a police report with phx PD and have them involved. My son has had countless things stolen from his lunch box as well as at his desk in class. Again administration has done nothing about it. Their curriculum is good however allowing kids to have this type of behavior will do nothing for their future. Highly disappointed in this school. If I did not share 50-50 parenting with her father I would have removed my kids immediately from the school weeks ago. I do not recommend this school. read more

My children attended Avondale Legacy and we enjoyed the academic atmosphere and staff. Transferred to Phoenix and was so disappointed. The students that attend phoenix are not Legacy students. There is so much bullying and inappropriate conversation and behavior. The principal, Larissa Cuda is incompetent and horrible about managing bullying. My child, an A team basketball player and honor roll student was a target of bullying and instead of helping my child she turned it on to him. There are other parents who have had similar situations. I had high hopes for Legacy Phx. My husband and I are very involved in our children's lives and always enjoy helping at school. First, the school never even notified me that my son was accepted or gave me information about his teacher, supplies, or start dates. My sons teacher left abruptly and they replaced her with a long term sub. This lady is extremely forgetful, has missed handing out homework assignments, missed handing out pictures from picture day, forgot to send out announcements. They cancelled parent teacher conferences because the teacher left and have yet to address the issue. Don't bother calling the school because the staff at the front desk are extremely rude and always say "I don't know" to any issue. There is a severe lack of communication and professionalism. We will be transferring my son. I hope my review helps other parents avoid the headache of dealing with this particular school. read more
