Started in kindergarten...my child spoke a little english....now she speaks reads and writes english at her grade level and recently graduated from the ESL program. She is behind in math ...hopefully she will catch up next year in 3rd grade. As long as my child continues to progress academically i will keep her there ....drive line does leave something to be desired as well as with school communication but academically the school is getting the job done. read more

I'm writing to bring to your attention an incident that happened today, August 14th, around 3:20 PM, regarding my daughter Callie's school laptop. This morning, Callie accidentally left her laptop at home, so I brought it to the school around 9:00 AM. When I dropped it off at the front desk, the receptionist Mellisa mentioned that she "might be able to get it to her." I assumed she was joking, so I left it with her. Later in the day, I found out that Callie never received her laptop. When I returned to the front desk, I expressed that if it wasn't going to be delivered to her, I would have preferred to take it back with me. The receptionist mentioned that she thought it was for homework, but in fact, Callie needed it for classwork during her last period today. I also want to note that this is only the second time Callie has forgotten her laptop, yet the receptionist claimed it had happened three or four times, which is simply not true. I was disappointed to hear an inaccurate statement about my daughter's track record, especially when it could impact how she is perceived. I wanted to make you aware of this situation because it caused Callie to miss an important class activity. I understand everyone is busy, but I hope we can ensure that items critical to a student's classwork are delivered in a timely manner in the future and that communication remains accurate and respectful. Driveline for pick up takes 40 minutes a day and no one seems to care about parents. Students wait not knowing how long it will take. I am in daily contact about the issue.Police officers are paid to stand in the shade and not help the traffic flow. School events are horrible as there is not enough parking and we have to wait in long lines in the heat waiting to get in. This school is horrible to deal with. Our family has had such a wonderful experience at Legacy Traditional School Glendale! My son has enjoyed every one of his classes and truly looks forward to coming to school each day. The teachers create a positive and engaging learning environment that keeps him excited about learning. We also love that Legacy offers intramural sports teams year round. It gives students a great opportunity to get involved, build teamwork skills, and learn the fundamentals of the sports they play. In addition, my son is part of the Masterpiece Program, which focuses on art for students in grades 3-6. He absolutely loves it and has learned so much from his very effective and encouraging art teacher. The school staff and principals especially are aware that this school has a significantly large group of kids in the higher grades that are bullies to the less outgoing kids - while a large group of kids that are bullied perform self harm to cope with the stresses. Meanwhile the staff are patting each other on the back for being great admins and support to each other. Furthermore the science teacher would routinely put my daughter down regarding our families lack of income. Parents beware! Do right by your children and don't send them here! read more

I couldn't imagine a better place for my son to attend school. In today's day and age, safety and caring teachers/staff are at the top of my list. We found both at Legacy Glendale. The administration here is the hardest working group of ladies I've ever met, and they work tirelessly to ensure the school stays safe and that the teachers remain accountable. My sons teacher is better than we ever could have asked for, and she has really set the bar high for the rest of his future educators. I'm so glad we started Kindergarten here, because we'll be here through 8th grade for sure. read more

Loads of homework. Kids have after school sports and homework really interferes with it. Teachers are rude and yells a lot. Teachers saying out of pocket thing too. Kids are mean to each other and the school does nothing about it. Cafeteria food looks disgusting and not clean. Lunch aids are very rude and yells a lot at the kids everyday while kids are trying to talk to their friends. Teachers calling out students mistakes in front of the class for everyone can hear. Bathrooms are disgusting and smell really bad. Gym teachers are terrible. Only good teacher there is Mr. Saavedra and ms. Madera. They actually cared about the students passing. Allowing a crossing guard to stop traffic to help kids or pedestrians across the street is one thing. Stopping all traffic coming west on thunderbird gets stopped everyday so they can let the pickup line leave quickly so staff doesn't have to stay longer. It's a broken system... do better. read more

I wouldn't send my child to this school again for five million dollars! Let me tell you why. They do not put the children first. The teachers are not all certified. They claim to have a 23:1 ratio, but it's more like 30:1. Administration needs a lot of help. Most importantly, they are not honest. The science teacher for 8th grade for the class of 2023-2024 wrongfully accused my daughter of cheating on a test and nearly gave her a panic attack in front of her classmates while doing so. He accused her of cheating with no proof whatsoever due to the fact she didn't "show her work" on a question that didn't even say to "show your work". My daughter is very quiet and at the time she had no friends, yet he still told her about how she probably asked for help from one of the boys at her table. As soon as my daughter made me aware of this, I pulled her out of the school immediately and due to her not being able to find a smaller charter school, we decided on online and it has been great ever since. This school also went through 3 different English teachers before winter break even began due to how disruptive and disrespectful the kids are to the teachers. There also were many fights inside the school and whenever there was a substitute teacher, the students would overpower them and would be as chaotic as they could to provoke the substitute. My daughter and almost everyone in her grade were failing because the teachers fail to help those who want to learn and they pile their students on with hours and hours of homework that would be impossible to get done in one night. I was so disappointed in this school because Legacy in Peoria was one of the best schools she's ever been in and unfortunately legacy Glendale was far from the expectations I had for it. read more

The negligence at this school is deranged. Our son, who is in kindergarten, attended this school for only 3 months and we discharged him due to the lack of support, communication, protection and awareness! My son came home with a pencil stab wound on his arm. When we addressed the school and administration about the matter they tried to devalue the situation by stating that it was merely a poke of the pencil. My son brought this situation to his teacher and all she did was move the student that stabbed him to the other side of the classroom. Yet, when the staff addressed the teacher she stated that she was not made aware of the situation by my son. When the staff spoke with the little girl who acted out the violence she did admit to doing it. The only actions that were taken was a call to her parents. Legacy staff assumed a simple sorry would suffice for a pencil being used as a WEAPON and causing a puncture wound. We decided to pull our son from Ms.Fitzpatricks class because he no longer felt safe in her class due to the littler girl still attending. He then got moved to Ms.Mack's class. Just some insight, these kindergarten classes have restrooms in them for easier access for the littles.I picked up my son from school one day and noticed he had an accident on himself. I asked him what happened and he stated that the teacher told him to wait 10 minutes. The very next day I picked him up and once again he had an accident, except this time his shorts were soaked with urine! I asked him again what happened and why did he not go to the restroom. He stated that Ms.Mack told him he already went to the restroom once and they she would have to think about it. Right after that I went to the front office to speak with the assistant principal, which she is NEVER in attendance. I spoke with another staff member and she stated she would speak with the teacher to see what really happened. Kids this little have no reason to lie about incidents that happen to them at school. This school will believe any staff member over your child. It is a traumatic experience for these kids. Please avoid at any means necessary! read more

this school has many problems. A big one being Coach Hancock. He is a fat gym teacher who forces students to run a mile and if they walk at all then they get in trouble. He YELLS at students to "shut up" and is constantly on his phone laughing with the other gym teachers as he is forcing students to sprint in the scorching Arizona sun. Also they have many behavioral problems that they do nothing to fix. The school doesn't have its priorities in order. For almost half the year the boys upstairs bathroom had NO toilet paper dispensers and the school was aware of it but did nothing. There are definitely better schools around. read more

When inquiring about enrollment and the recent change to the school policies that are not "traditional", I was told that they are not at liberty to discuss and for me to refer to the handbook. Needless to say, I will not be enrolling if they cannot be transparent up front. As a parent we all want wants best for our kids. And living here in AZ we really all want the best education for our kids.for some reason I don't get the hype of a charter school. When clearly a lot of people say charter schools are the best. I can't agree with this. Being this is the second charter school I've now put my son in and again it just wasn't for him. Look nothing is wrong with Legacy.if your child is a transfer student that's where the issues will come in.This is a great school for ur child to start if they start out in kinder but if they start out coming here in 5th it's a nightmare. This school is so accelerated and advanced ur child will struggle and if your child doesn't get it. Too bad. Bc when you start to ask the teacher for help they will clearly start to ignore you. Which I don't understand. I'm thinking the teacher ignoring asking for help is their way of weeding out the kids who just don't do to well dealing with an Exceller rated program.. My son has always been an A student coming here not the case. My son has struggled and I can't have my son struggling bc it's to fast past not every kid can learn this way. I enjoy the staff and curriculum. What I don't enjoy are the parents who get out of their car in driveline to wait for their child. If you wanted that then go to Purple. Red, Yellow, Blue & Green is for parents who can drop off and go. Also parents don't get to the school outside their scheduled time! If the child gets out at 2:55 don't get there at 2:30! Because now YOU are holding up driveline. Staff say they can't do anything about it when they are the ones enforcing the layered dismissals! How about the school let's all the kids out at 2:45pm or you force the parents to pick up after their child's scheduled dismissal! Just like how you threaten to bill us if we pick our child up late! My 2 kids were called lazy by Mr.Duty for walking through grass, (they watched a GROUP of kids do the same thing) mr. Duty decided to ask my kids "What? Are you guys lazy or something??" 2 more kids walked across the same grass and was not called lazy. Both groups of kids were White and my kids are black. Once brought to the office attention I did not feel as if it was taking as seriously as should be. I'm withdrawing them TODAY. The district will also be hearing from me. Keep your racism AT HOME. Mr. Miller my sons 5th grade teacher also has a hard time controlling his annoyance to a problematic kid, so much so last Friday mr Miller yelled at the whole class "shame on you" LOUD. My son expressed how he felt and his feeling were understandably hurt as he didn't do anything wrong but was punished as if he did. The whole class was over one kid. That was the last straw. Pulled our child halfway through first grade. He was keeping up with all the work and on Honor Roll but wasn't comprehending it. Bullied throughout Kinder with no response from the school. The teacher had to work through it. First grade they called me every time he got out of his seat. 35 kids in a first grade classroom. He was a body to them that only helps if he tests well. Became withdrawn which was heartbreaking to witness. He is now in a new school and excelling -reading much more, comprehending everything. He is excited to go to school and learn! He is also my happy kid again! When we did our exit interview the Assistant Principal wouldn't even come talk to me. If you're concerned on test scores this is the school for you. If your child's wellbeing means as much to you as their education then find a school other than Legacy. read more

The pick up and parking is a joke. They lost my child 3 times the first week. She has asthma and was lost! We finally agree to meet eachother at the playground so she can find it and I can find her since the staff failed. I'm told that is no longer an option. Most of the people in charge of the child pick up, are rude. The amount of attitude they give is astounding. I left a voicemail with the principal to try and address these issues and of course, they don't call you back. Waiting an hour for your child is normal. I will most likely pull her from this school and place her in another legacy or perhaps back at painted rock. I do not recommend this school. read more

My daughter started Legacy in 2016. My other child started 2019 and this school is awesome. The staff is great, the teachers are too. If you are expecting good curriculum Legacy has it. It is challenging. Its a grade ahead. Legacy teaches things the public school system stop. The drive line can be annoying at time, when you have parents that don't pay attention it makes it worse. I'm starting to see a theme here. If you look at the Peoria campus page and reviews, you'll see me there too. Yeah, I'm a student and all the haters out there will say I'm writing this because kids don't like going to school, but no. I'm writing this to warn all parents about Legacy Traditional Schools' behavior. Both Legacies I've been to (Peoria and now Glendale) have terrible organizational skills. The driveline to pick up is a joke. My mom got stuck for almost an hour waiting in there! I think the reason they don't let parents come in is because they don't want them to see the stuff on the inside and see that it is terrible. The administration doesn't give a crap half the time. I've heard stories of students bringing vape, drugs, and a bunch of other stuff to this school. Stay away. Stay away if you want the best for your child read more

My daughters 7 and 9 are flourishing here at Legacy.I am seeing them succeed with the help of their teachers. We love our youngest daughter's second grade teacher Mrs.Navabi! She is a true gem! Very kind! This is the first year we transitioned from an online charter school (another district) to In-person school (LTS, Glendale Brick and Mortar). We were looking for two key outcomes for our shy and timid daughter. Our expectations as parents were for her to adapt to a traditional classroom setting and to develop good social skills. Mrs.Navabi is the best thing to happen to our daughter. I had mentioned it to her on the Back to school night and she told me she'll ensure my daughter feels safe and comfortable in her classroom. Mrs.Navabi kept her promise! She has not taken a day off since school began and has been consistently sharing feedback about my kid's progress through all 4 quarters. Thanks to her, my daughter has built a strong relationship with some of her classmates. The Teachers, Admin and Staff as far as I've seen, are dedicated and come together as a team to support students in any and every way possible. They have a good curriculum. My daughter,7 has been a principal pride recipient throughout the entire school year. Academic Excellence is one thing, but I truly feel it is because she feels safe and loved which reflects in her grades. I love the K-3 AP, Mrs.Crossman. She responds in a timely manner inspite of her busy schedule and I've heard many many good things about her. My older daughter is having a great year too! Can't complain. I would recommend Legacy, Glendale 100%. There's always going to be minor flaws in any educational institution if you're looking for them but when you look at the bigger picture, the school looks out for the students and I have no concerns. read more

Adding to my last review. My children attend this school. Last Thursday 3/23 while first grade was out on recess there was a man walking around the school outside of the fence trying to Lure kids to the fence by telling them he was their age he had candy and to go open the gate, one child went and told the aids and they took steps to get the children inside. From my phone call the aids called admin and admin escorted this man off of the campus while on the phone with PD. But what is the concerning issue of this is that I was not notified by any school officials about this. I only found out about this due to my child telling me. I then follow up with the school and Ms. Morris let me know that the children that had direct contact their families were notified. MY CHILD HAD DIRECT CONTACT AND I WAS NOT NOTIFIED. She couldn't answer if there is a procedure manual and all she could say is that she followed the superintendents recommendations. Every parent should have notified about this for them to speak with there children. In the mornings around 7:15 there are 15-25 children waiting for the gates to be opened on both sides if parents were aware of this maybe they would rethink leaving them. How many other things go on at school that we are not notified about?? The school will call you for the pettiest things going on in the class but not for safety WRONG. read more

If you're a Parent- curriculum K-6 is fantastic. JrHigh is another story. Organized chaos is a good phrase to describe the 7th & 8th grade. Teachers- if you are looking for a change from Public education- elementary teaching is a radical change of pace. Expectations are high, not only for students, but especially on teachers. Jr. High teachers, be ready to encounter some serious behavior issues. Admin is no help either. They, in fact, cowar to the few ring-leaders because they don't want to deal with parents- they succumb to their requests. Original admin staff was flexible to work with, but this school's reputation for being rigorous all-around is yet to be determined- especially in JrH. If I'm a parent of Jr.H students- I would not want my child any where near this place until behavior and treatment of Jr.H teachers improve. read more
