Provide appropriate oversight of your non certified/untrained instructors; you put kids in danger of dry drowning when instructors hold kid's feet up so they can't breathe. People are trusting you have trained/certified swim instructors in the pool with their children, and you don't. Plus, the owner, Brian was only seen on deck a half of dozen times in an entire year. Instead, he has a very rude college age woman who makes decisions she's not qualified to make. Also, don't hold yourself out as a "swim team", because you're not even close; and your untrained swim instructors don't know how to teach proper techniques. There's not a swimmer on your "Tuna Squad" who wouldn't get DQ in a USA Swimming swim meet. My recommendation: Avoid this organization and join a swim team who actually compete in USA Swimming swim meets, and one with professional coaches...don't waste your time here! read more

We love this swim school! We're here for the second year now and my kids have made amazing progress. The instructors are all very attentive and do a great job adjusting their style to different kids (my 3 are all very different!). The facility is top notch and the vibes are great. My two 4 year old daughters have both become capable swimmers over the past year of taking lessons here and enjoyed it so much along the way. We started off our lessons this spring with an accelerator package with Brian and that was, I think, truly key in helping my girls make so much progress over the past couple months. We recently went on vacation and had access to a pool everyday and it was amazing to see how comfortable and confident both my 4 year olds were in the water. They also have great developmental lessons for older kids who are already solid swimmers. My 7 year old son has been a swimmer for 3 years but is really growing his passion for the sport here and learning so much about proper form and all the different strokes. Can't say enough good things about Legacy, would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone! read more

Updating my review: Within a few days of our request to pull my daughter from the program, the owner reached out to us. He was exceptionally professional and extremely concerned by the incident. He offered one on one swim lessons with my daughter multiple times a week for 2 weeks to get my daughter to a safer proficiency in the water at no additional cost while offering a dialogue on how to proceed after the two week session. Additionally, he assured us that he is taking steps to ensure safety protocols are reviewed with his instructors. At every point in our conversation he respected our perspective, comfortability, and concerns. Brian's integrity, professionalism, and ownership of the program are the reasons why we are giving Legacy another shot. read more

We have been SO pleased with Legacy Swim Academy. Brian, the owner, is really on top of things and the staff is just beyond wonderful. Everyone is positive and cheerful and welcoming. I've noticed our 4 year old learning so much more here than at a precious indoor swim school he used to attend here in San Diego. They're very flexible with accommodating make up classes when needed and the one-on-one attention that our son gets during his lesson is fantastic. At other swim schools they sit around for half the lesson, but with Legacy it feels like the time in the lesson is filled with learning. After trying other swim programs (ymca, safe splash) we really appreciated the small class size where my kids received more instruction. My 3 year old went from crying through his first 2 sessions in March to swimming independently in September. Legacy Swim Academy is absolutely the BEST swim school out there. We had our kids in swim classes at another swim place since they were 6 months old and saw very minimal advancements in their skills. Brian has taught swim lessons to my two older kids since they were babies. His charm and ease with kids has made them comfortable in the water, even when I wasn't able to persuade them to swim myself. They now love the water and are excellent swimmers, having learned in a way that is fun and builds their confidence. Now they are almost 3 and 7 and I look forward to starting soon with our infant. We have four children and been through a number of swimming programs over the years. Legacy Swim Academy is by far the best we have ever experienced. The coaching staff is simply amazing. They are attentive, great at explaining swimming technique with kids, and on top of it, fun! I am amazed at how much they are able to accomplish in just a 30 minute lesson.
