They left my taxes on their desk for over a month with no response to any of my communications through text, phone or emails. i had a deadline that needed to be met and it was missed because of them. absolutely no professionalism here. i originally made this review May of 2024 under mangeluff 66. i see that one of their employees has responded recently and just because my screen name does not match with the email i gave you, does not mean you can just dismiss my post. you guys cost me a refund for that year and i am still not up to date cause i took it to H&R block which at least completed the returns but did them wrong. My name is Marion Duff and my husband is Richard. you guys absolutely did do this to me but it was not in 2024; it was a year or 2 before that when i was dealing with a lot of deaths in my family. i still have all the emails and texts i sent that went unanswered! anybody can handle a simple return with a couple of W2s, but you guys, nor H&R block, are worth the money you charge and i can get better info off Google than from your office. your office caused me great stress and problems that are still following me today! so dont just dismiss me like i am a NOBODY...

David, If you want personal service from smiling clerks who seat you in plush office chairs and cater to your special need to be seen immediately, perhaps you should seek out the services of a tax office that will charge you an arm and a leg for the privilege. If you know your father is unable to be in public without an outburst, why would you put him in such a stressful situation? The business has a policy of seeing first come first served and you obviously knew that based on having used them before for your parents. Your sour grapes and low rating does not reflect the excellent service Dillon has and does provide to the 99.9% of customers that do not expect special treatment. Do better!!!

The purpose of my review is to tell my personal experience; readers may use their own judgement when deciding to utilize their services. I have used Townsend tax services for roughly 3-4 to file my income taxes. The first couple years, zero issues; taxes were filed flawlessly to my knowledge. Let's fast forward to 2020; filing my taxes for 2019. In June or July 2019 when I filed bc the deadline had been extended, the office was not seeing clients in person due to Covid-19. You were to drop everything off and communicate via text, phone or email, stop by to sign once completed and then return for pick up once they had everything finished. Well, when I dropped off all of my information; I had written out all of my families information, including my dependents. On there I noted "do note claim my daughter as a dependent, it is not my year to claim her. She has already been claimed by her father but here is her info in case needed for household purposes", the next day I got an email from them saying my taxes were rejected basically bc he still added her to my tax return to be claimed as a dependent. So the taxes were redone and resubmitted. When Townsend tax services emailed me a copy of the state and federal tax forms, it wasn't my taxes. They had emailed me the wrong taxes with all the info belonging to another person (including their address and ss#) I wasn't overly upset bc mistakes happen. Still had every intention of using them in 2021 to file 2020, bc again no one is perfect. Now we're in 2021, I'm ready to file my 2020 taxes. Unfortunately, my 1099's weren't sent to me in a timely manor so I was bringing them my info 3 days before the deadline; dropped off on a Friday morning and deadline was that following Monday to my knowledge. So I drop everything off, expecting to hear from them about anything that I may not have included or additional info they needed, bc I'm not a tax professional and may have missed needed info. We do email back and forth regarding write off info they needed and additional irs info they needed. All of which I would send back as soon as I read the emails. A couple times they did request duplicate info regarding one particular write off, to which I tried calling twice and left two messages for a call back; and not getting a call back. At this point via email, I do politely explain my slight frustration and again request a call back. They reply very rudely saying they've tried calling adding a bunch of "!!!!" (I had zero missed calls) and that I sent the wrong info. So I call and get an answer this time. I'm explaining to them on the phone I'm working on the irs website to get what they had requested but I was at their mercy and had no clue that I needed this info which was frustrating(it was bc of the previous years mess up, I now had to get a security pin from the irs). To which he says "You know what's frustrating, people like you who file last minute. Come get your stuff and you can take them somewhere else" and hangs the phone up on me. Now mind you, on the phone I wasn't being rude, speaking with a bad tone or yelling, he was just hateful and rude over the whole situation. So I go to their office, email and text them once I was there, asking where to find my info. I was directed to their back porch for pick up. He was outside still trying to give me tax advice very rudely to which I told him "his behavior was tacky and unprofessional and to F off" (not my best moment, but I was so upset with it being the last day to file and now having to find someone else). A true professional would have finished the job at hand, billed for doing what they were hired to do and then cutting ties at that point. This business however, chose to have a tantrum. Even with all the issues and rude emails, I wasn't going to leave a bad review; like above, I was going to cut ties and go somewhere else going forward. But after the rude conversation, being told to come get my paperwork to go elsewhere and then being hung up on. I believe telling my experience is warranted.

Over those few years have had several amendments done due to taxes not being filed correctly. He will put interest in twice and for 2022 he put in my one annuity in twice. Husband caught mistake and had him redo federal tax. He said we did not need to do a state amendment. Anyone with a clear mind would know we would since that changed our adjusted gross income. Brought this to the owners daughter who works in that office and she refused to correct the error. Won't even return my calls. I called the Ky Revenue Department and explained my concerns. The first thing the lady asked was did you go to Dillon Tax Service. That should tell you something right there. For you sake and pocket book don't go there, you could be missing more of a refund!!!

I had previously called to inquire about the range of tax services they offer. The receptionist was courteous and knowledgeable about the business itself and tax information. This along with a personal recommendation gave me the confidence that they would be a smart choice. What impressed me nearly as much as the professionalism of my tax preparer was the efficiency. When I arrived, there were three or four others ahead of me in a small office, yet I waited no more than ten minutes to be called. Jim prepared my taxes and was thorough in both reviewing my previous return and pointing out flaws from a certain other high profile national tax prep company and in getting me all the deductions I qualified for. I went in thinking I might owe at least a small amount, and ended up with a considerable refund. He is clearly very experienced and up on all current and even future tax issues. I also heard some others requesting another preparer specifically, which tells me Dillon has a number of top notch tax professionals in their service. I plan on doing amended returns with them very soon. I highly recommend Dillon Tax Service and plan on using them for years to come.
