Ok a few caveats--first I am from Philly and I am opinionated. Second, this place has a 3.9 rating, which is way too high. So I came here while waiting for a relative to arrive at the airport, and I had the number 1-- a regular cheesesteak with fried onions. It was bland and not a large portion. Absolutely nothing to write home about. The Cheesesteaks in Philly are far far better. Even Jersey Mike's puts this to shame. Probably won't choose to go back. Zero ambiance. read more

We took a risk yesterday, ordering food for Super Bowl Sunday from a place that we'd never tried before. I know, I know ... that invites disaster! And on one of the biggest order-in days of the year? But we tried to be clever and placed our Sunday delivery order on Thursday evening. Lefty's came through like champs! The food was affordable, it arrived warm and on time without a flaw, so their service was terrific! The flavors were wonderful, the servings huge and everything was delicious. It created just the relaxed mood we wanted, giving our party the laid back ambiance we sought. This place was okay. We came with a group of 5 and each got a sandwich and some of us got fries. When our food came out things were all mixed around and only 4 entrees came out not 5 which was unideal. I will say the food came out very quickly which was nice. The food itself was only okay. I am so disappointed with the owner. I am handicapped with a handicapped plate. I pull up, and there is a white Corvette in the handicapped spot with no handicapped placard or plate. I went inside to ask whose car it was, and I was treated disrespectfully. I have eaten many times and love the food, but I don't feel good about it anymore. I am sharing my experience with you; you can make your own decision, but I won't be eating there again. Awww man...this placed welcomed us to Detroit for sure! It was the first place that caught our eyes as we pulled up to the hotel from our 3.5 hr drive from Columbus oh next to the airport. I looked up other places close by but this place continued to stand out. After ordering just 2 cheesesteaks and some fries I was shook to see it came up $30. I'm used to paying that for abt 3 or 4 people comparing it to mr. Heros or Penn Station but the wonderful lady who took our order explained how it was premium steak. So I took her word for it and waited. While we did wait we asked a few of them what were some good places to check out around the city and they recommended Belle Isle, the casino and greektown to name a few. We visited all 3 and had a blast! We got our food and it was soooo good, the Cajun fries especially had my heart. Both our meals lasted us two times over. What a friendly group of employees! This was our first time ever at a leftist and we will be back for certain. We were picking up a friend from the airport for a quick bite. I ordered the original Leftys cheesesteak with curly fries. The sandwich was hot and the fries were perfect. My Ry ordered the cheesesteak with nacho cheese on it and flaming hot Cheetos. He chose cajun fries, which were regular fries with some spicy seasoning on them. We also ordered the sliders to share. Watch out for the spicy chili sauce. The drinks were refillable and the bathrooms are clean. Total our cost is about $40 and is a good deal for what we purchased. We left with leftovers also. Lefty's for the win! read more

Very much enjoyed my cheesesteak! I got the Southpaw which has hot Cheetos crushed over the top! I would very much recommend it to anyone around the Detroit Airport. The service was really good, the cashier was very patient as we looked through the menu to finally be able to pick what we wanted to try. I tried this business for the first and last time today. I ordered CHEESE STICKS. 6 CHEESE STICKS 4 of them didn't have cheese in the middle, completely hollow. I called to let them know and they had the audacity to ask that I bring the cheese sticks that had been bitten and spitted out to be brought back to their establishment. You actually have to bite the cheese stick before you realize there is no cheese. That request was a big no; I was not going in the garbage to retrieve some dry, hollow cheese sticks. She claimed it was their policy to return the food. At the time, I should have also been complaining about the minimal cheese and chili on my grandbaby fries. She left half of them with no cheese or chili in the container. The corn beef was good despite the other short comings. I had ordered a original cheesesteak. It wasn't the best cheesesteak I've had but it was still good. The meat was chopped pretty fine here, I'm personally a fan when the meat is left in big pieces.
