My 2 boys Had an appointment with Hector calls himself prodigy at 10am told us he was Going to get something to eat and he'll be back at 10:30am,he left at 10:30am. This dude is 17 years old with very poor customer service spends most of his time taking videos of his haircuts and talking,the owner has to constantly keep telling him to shut up and work. The shops standard haircut rates are $25 but he thinks he's better than everyone else and charges $30. He says the clients have 1 appointment time to worry about and the barber has many,if the barber would eliminate the video taking and cut hair while he's bullshitting instead of stopping while carrying on long conversations then he can be on track with his appointments. Just got my haircut from Left Hook Barbershop and it's the best experience I've ever had at any barbershop! The barbers are very friendly and professional. I had Anthony as my barber and he is absolutely phenomenal! I'm naturally a indecisive person when it comes to haircut styles but Anthony helped me choose a hair style that would suit me and he was spot on with the style, it came out amazing! Came up on this place desperately looking for a haircut before heading to San Diego with some friends. Called in before heading there to figure out the wait time. Luckily it was early day on Friday so not too busy. I was immediately seated and offered water which I thought was cool of the shop. I got the full service with my beard lined up and a haircut and honestly was blown away. (Don't tell my barber lol). It's a new shop, very clean and very very friendly. They have all the proper tools and truly know hair. I'm OCD about my hair and felt comfortable here which is a big thing for me! I would have left the review on "The Cut" app because that's where the appointment was booked but I cannot submit a review until the appointment is completed. In my case I didn't even make it to go through the experience and I am glad I didn't. I message the guy that goes by the name "Prodigy Hector" seemed like a chill dude despite a review I read which a previous client called him a "celebrity dick rider" "more concerned about squeezing in homies" on Saturday morning for a appointment that was available for 6pm in the evening. I submitted the request and was waiting for confirmation. I then get a comment through the cut app from "prodigy hector" and he stated someone booked that appointment at the same time. I replied with "are you booked for the rest of the day" NEVER received a reply. I took it upon my self to rebook an appointment for Sunday at 11am which was available through the cut app and again I was waiting for confirmation. I did not receive a confirmation until 3am (unprofessional) and he sent a message/comment stating "11am is not gonna work to come at 12:30pm". I was pretty fed up with the back and fourth but I still managed to keep my commitment as a client and make it to the appointment. I confirmed on Sunday at 11:00am if 12:30pm was still a good time. He said yes. On my way to the hair cut appointment located at left hook Barbershop I received a comment in the cut app stating "I am running behind, slide in at 1pm" I was 5 mins away and I had traveled 45 mins away. I canceled the appointment and turned around. I wasted enough time and gas I was not about to enable such unprofessionalism. Lesson learned always take reviews into consideration. They are their for a reason. I will not be returning to the left hook barber shop. I hope this review can shed some light on unprofessionalism and can save people time and money when dealing with these type of people. read more

This little spot is tucked away on a side street in Van Nuys (right next to the TenGooseBoxingGym) is freshly modeled and offers a legit cut/fade for only $25!
