I hired Left Coast to inspect a house in Lompoc that I am buying based on the recommendation of my realtor. I have experience in the construction trades, and prior home ownership, and had particular things I wanted Darrell to look for, and he obliged me, going above and beyond. After the inspection, he delivered an oral report that went directly to things that might influence the value of the property, then he followed up with a comprehensive written report covering those things and all of the smaller items. He clued me in to one problem that required delicate negotiation with the seller. I felt like he was my advocate. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a highly qualified inspector who has his clients' best interests at heart. read more

I hired Left Coast Inspections to inspect two homes recently. Darrell showed up on time and spent 4 hours inspecting each house. He is very thorough and spent allot of time helping me understand the inspection and what it would take to remedy any defects he found. About a day after he completed his inspection he provided a 30 page report, complete with pictures, showing what needed to be fixed and what was in good shape. Everything from small to large, emphasizing what was really important and what could wait. I feel confident in the house I finally chose to buy; and I know I can call Darrell with any questions I may have. Darrell is a consummate professional and an expert at what he does. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Left Coast Inspections to friends or family. Thanks Darrell! Brian Pearcy read more

Mr. Clegg came highly recommended from our realtor. He was able go out to do the home inspection within a couple of days. He completed a very detailed report with photos and explanations which was available for our review the same day. I love that he color codes his findings, so if you don't have the time to read the whole thing, you can see what is most important, and he also makes a summary--so helpful! He was also available over the phone to discuss his findings and answered all of our questions. His past experiences as a realtor and contractor make him very knowledgable. We're very happy with his service! read more

My Wife and I are under contract on a home we hope to make a dream house to raise our kids and I have to say Darrell and Left Coast inspections have been amazing. Darrell spent almost an entire day inspecting every little detail of the house, he found multiple little issues and multiple major issues all which were clearly labeled and photographed in a very detailed report. Darrell's inspection will allow us to negotiate seller concessions in a knowledgeable fashion and or walk away from a purchase that could have been a catastrophic Money Pit. Thank you for everything Jeff & Lacey Glass. read more

Having bought and sold many homes over the last 30 years, and without going into detail, I'd advise a buyer, especially an inexperienced buyer, to consider an inspector from a different part of town with No connections to the area or the real estate agents in the area you are buying in. Research all inspectors well in advance on your own. A home is a huge investment. Someone who is detailed in code violations is helpful too, and an independent contractor who will give clear and accurate detailed information, the good, bad and ugly. Don't always depend on just one home inspection when buying a home. read more

Darrell from Left Coast Inspections did an amazing job on our inspection when we are in the process for buying a house. He was so detailed in everything and we received the report so fast! He made recommendations on who to contact to fix certain things and the importance of it. I've had an inspection before from a different company on my first house, and it was no where this detailed as Left coast inspections. I definitely be recommending them to others. A plus side they were reasonably priced! read more

When you hire Darrell you will not be disappointed. I checked out several companies in the area and they did not have the credentials and licenses they state on their webpage/website. Darrell has a contractors license, insured and also a member of Nachi. I have emailed him several times since the inspection with questions and he responds quickly. I want an inspector that tells the truth and that I can trust. If they can't tell the truth on their website, how do you know they are telling the truth on the inspection report? If you are looking for an honest and outstanding inspector please consider hiring him. Heres how to check credentials and license: https://www2.cslb.ca.gov/OnlineServices/CheckLicenseII/CheckLicense.aspx https://www.nachi.org/find-an-inspector Did your know that you do not have to have a license to claim to be an inspector. If you want real knowledge make sure each person at company has these not one for owner or one person at company. Good Luck on your house hunt. read more

100% satisfied! Darrell was very thorough and precise with his physical inspection of the property both inside and out. He was also very courteous, friendly, approachable and he had good attention to detail. Upon completion of the inspection, Darrell took us through each room and explained in layman terms certain items that needed to be brought to code immediately as well as other details that would need attention down the road. He made our decision to buy the house that much easier. You will not go wrong in using Darrell at Left Coast Inspection. read more
