My friend was in the hunt for a specific figurine - the staff was so helpful in answering questions and giving advice on the best time to see new items in the store. For me, i just enjoyed walking around and seeing all the treasures old and new. While Disney is a part of the gallery, they do also have other "fan" items like bullwinkle and rocky among others!

It is located in the old Pier 1 space, the place is big, well lit, a small museum of memorabilia, especially animation, a nice gallery and auction house. They have the catalogue on line as well. It is free to visit and there are several rooms to explore and browse, lots of cool items on display: posters, big props, toys, photos, animation sheets, press kits and so on. There are some non-animation film related items as well, from the James Bond series for example. They have an exhibit till the end of June and they also showcase other artists' work from the entertainment world. Nice staff, it is closed on Sunday. Lots of film history in here, if you are looking for some collectibles, artwork for your wall, some items are in the 200-300 range, some more as you can imagine. Nice visit, I'll stop by sometime to check out what is new here!

I knew I needed something outside of the house that would allow me to focus and have a mental break from the demands of my new life with a baby. From the first class, I painted something I wanted to hang on my wall. Susan's style is unstructured in the sense that there is not a formal topic presented every week. But she takes time with each student during the course of the class so her instruction is extremely customized and individually tailored to each person. She also knows when a student is getting stuck and encourages us to keep going even if we aren't sure about what we are doing. She always says, "oil is very forgiving," and "you can't mess it up." She does stress the importance of the initial drawing and encourages us to follow the same process with each new painting from priming the canvas to completing the drawing in charcoal. Over the last several months, I have seen new students start who, like me, have never picked up a paint brush. Everyone becomes an artist with Susan's encouragement and help. This class is also a lovely community - we all encourage each other and get excited when someone completes a work. I can't imagine starting my Saturday without this class.

I didn't even know the artist's name, but Lynne's eye and passion for art made the impossible happen. I was lucky enough to purchase the piece directly from the artist, and naturally brought it to Decor Art Galleries for framing. The result is a stunning, elegantly framed work I've been longing to reclaim for years. I'm so grateful to Lynne for her kindness, intuition, and love of art and local history. She helped me pick the perfect frame with matching textures and highlights and the entire process was efficient and joyful. I highly recommend working with her and her lovely staff, Decor Art Galleries is a treasure!

Lynne has an immense collection of photos that anyone can find appreciation in. We came to her looking specifically for old photographs of the Hollywood and West Hollywood area. After selecting two prints, we used Lynne's custom framing services and have to say they're a real treat and always a conversation starter when people come to our home. We also had a historic California state flag framed and the outcome was incredible. We had no idea how to go about framing a flag since it needs adhesive to be held in place. She took care of everything. Regarding pricing, we did the framing almost two years ago and I neither recall it being expensive nor cheap. In all honesty though, the framing came out so immaculate that we were happy to pay for the quality. Not sure why it took us this long to write a review but just wanted to make this place known since it's a real gem in Studio City.

Unfortunately, last Sunday (they opened a new show a night before), I walked over to check the new exhibit out. I found a note on the door "back in 10". Well, they were not back in 10, we waited for at least 15 - 20 minutes outside and no one showed up. They have the place opened just for 4 hours on Sundays. Shouldn't you stay in there during these 4 hours? At least I walked, so the inconvenience wasn't huge, but what if I've have driven there? Considering that parking is difficult on Lankershim. This isn't the 1st time it's happening, I want to support this place and love what they do, but please stay open during your business hours!

How supportive are you of your significant other? Do you brag about his/her career? Show interest…read morein his/her talents and hobbies? Let's face the reality: you should be proud of your partner's achievements. I'm my boyfriend's biggest fan whether it is of his highly-acheived career in the film industry as a Set Dresser or of his extremely talented drawing/illustrating skills (he has been featured in movies and TV). What does any of this lovey-dovey crap have to do with 800 Gallery? Don't fret my fellow-Yelpers, I was just getting to that! 800 Gallery is one of the many art galleries located in the NoHo Arts District. What makes this gallery stand out amongst its peers? Instead of just being an art gallery which features art shows and exhibits by artists based on a theme or contest; Gallery 800 has a catch: all of the artist exhibitors are members of the Art Directors Guild IATSE 800 (get it? Gallery 800? The union number of 800?). It is a wonderful way for members of the film and TV industry whom work behind the cameras to showcase their artistic flair and aptitude. Gallery 800 not only hosts exhibitions and receptions; but it works in conjunction with the Local 800 to convert Tuesday nights into an artistic and stress relief by offering drawing workshops at the nearby Local 800 building on Ventura Blvd in Studio City. For $10/night, entertainment industry professionals (or not. You DON'T have to be the member of any union. You can be Joe Schmo off the street); can spend a couple hours fine-tuning their drawing/illustrating skills while also sharing and networking with others. As for the receptions at 800 Gallery, they don't have the usual stuck-up and pretentious quality to them. I attend many art events and this was one of the first times that it felt like everyone was actually flowing with creativity versus just a supposed supporter of art AKA rich snob. Gallery 800 is retaining art at its best. Plus, with yummy refreshments (chips & salsa, veggie platters, cookies, donation-only wine/beer/soda bar), your tummy will be pleased too. If you see the gallery curator Denis Olsen, feel free to ask him questions. He is very knowledgeable. Whether you are in the entertainment industry or not, Gallery 800 stands out amongst the art gallery crowd. Call it a themed gallery or just call it a creative hub, you will be happy to simply call it at all.

If you didn't know her work, it's the most fun, colorful and happy art at the intersection of Impressionism, portals and optical illusion, where you squint your eyes and each segment of color is like a pixel in a tapestry of interwoven color and texture. The vibe was amazing ing and I just had to go see this art and support this artist. I arrived and found an entire treasure trove of fascinating art by dozens of artists. Each style is unique and well worth coming by. Imagine walking through a museum of the most amazing only talented artists and all the art is for sale. I bought two pieces. One of Shiri's of course. The art is reasonably priced and there are many different sizes. I highly recommend Artspace Warehouse for some of the best talent in the L.A. art world. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful and full of knowledge about each and every artist, the types of art and our chats were so chill- no pretentious vibes here. Just joy. This was really a thrill to see locals, families choosing art for their homes, and people like me who came a bit of a distance to share the art experience here. He collaborated with me in regards to the colors that I needed and also some different styles. He has a amazing inventory of iconic art that I would urge anyone to ask him to see for purchase. Also, upon commission like I did with him for a show any Set Decorator or designer or person that loves art would love him. This particular character was Terrence Howard, who was a hip-hop Mogul in the story so the hip-hop vibe that is very much alive in pontia work was perfect. I can't say enough about his business Art Rebel because it is from adult fun to kids but extremely unique compared to a typical art business for corporations or birthday parties as it has an edge to it and is very hip and unique in the style that they present to the customer in Art Rebel! Ponti helped execute my vision for the party and he and his staff were so helpful and pleasant the entire night. They brought such great energy! My guests were wowed by the space and had a blast looking at all the artwork and details under the blacklights. We converted one of the rooms into a designated dance floor for swing dancing (though we ended up dancing in the main room as well!) and had activity stations that included spin art, neon playdough, and a graffiti wall to doodle and write birthday messages, which were all so fun. The speakers were integrated in every room and with the volume turned up, it was such a VIBE. There are blacklights in all rooms except one, which we used as the designated eating area with plenty of room to set up food and utilize the bar. We were a group of about 40 people (including the staff) and honestly could have crammed about twice as many people in there if we wanted! It's a lot more spacious than it looks in photos. In the end, I was more than happy with the group size since there was enough space to dance and play without feeling crowded. I couldn't recommend Art Rebel Studio enough for events, it was a total blast. Huge THANK YOU to Ponti & Team for such a memorable night!!
