Last January 2019 i caught the Largest White Crappie I've ever caught. It was beautiful. Its…read morecolorful scales were like the ocean Green and Blue and Silver. So i decided to get it Mounted by Life-Like Taxidermy. He said it'll take about 3 months to be complete. Knowing nothing about the taxidermy profession i said...sure no problem. 3 months went by 6 months went by i kept calling and i would get same response "your fish is drying" ...9 months went by... i felt they were lying and just stringing me along...Well little did i know i wouldn't get that Crappie back until March 4th 2020. When i saw the finished product i was shocked. It looked like someone took a bucket of thick white paint mixed with glue and spattered all over a ugly looking fish. It has vertical black stripes and red pokey dots on scale. Crappies dont have red pokey dots or black vertical scales. Sad part about it i gave him 4 pictures of the fish just so he could get it right. Over a year of waiting for something i threw in the Garbage the same day i got it because it Stinks like a Dead Animal. There is no way im hanging that stinky crap on my wall. The only reason i accepted the fish from them was for evidence to show yall who not to use as your taxidermist. On a Happier note... i did get my deposit back and the fish for Free...when i laid my eyes on that fish i see why i didn't get charged. Yikes..stay away from Gene the Taxidermy!!!

i took a turkey to be mounted to this guy. He said six months and a year later I get the turkey…read moreback after several calls. The worst part is when i took the turkey to him he pointed out that I had a rare double bearded turkey. When I picked up the turkey it was not a double bearded turkey. I told the guy that it was not my turkey he was not happy that i called him out and insisted that the turkey was mine. I mentioned the story and he got more upset with me. Needless to say I took the mounted turkey since he already had my money. I will never take another animal to this guy. He knows his business and I am positive he knew that was not my turkey since it took him over a year to get it to me and he said it would only take six months, i saw hides laying around and it did not look like they were tagged so I can see how he probably messed up.
