WOW! This fee office is NOTHING like what most folks complain about as it relates to licensing a vehicle or a driver. The office checks-in all the patrons as soon as the door opens and continues to do such as more folks arrive. The office takes your cell number as you check in so the system can tell you that your name is about to be called. There were at least 40 patrons in the waiting area, but names were being called with great frequency. Each of the clerks worked with an incredible amount of speed, even when a patron did not have all of the required paperwork to license a vehicle (never fails!). Carla assisted me with renewing my driver license and she was super-polite as I tried to show her all of the stuff that my reminder postcard had listed. It is a great feeling to bring more stuff to the counter than what is needed. Carla was "all business" but moving at a pace that was comfortable. She definitely checked all the boxes to get me taken care of. This office is a model for all of the Missouri fee offices. The current office is an incredible improvement over the past offices and Carla was the icing on the cake! read more

Never had anyone talk to me in a way that gave me anxiety or made me feel like the person I needed to help me was mad at me. I came into this place to register my vehicle and I sat and waited to be called. As I patiently waited I heard my name being called out. When I approached the counter Stephane had a hard time hearing me and didn't mind letting me know that. She was not smiling or when I asked how her day was she completely ignored it. Which is fine, I personally feel working in the service industry of any kind you should at least be friendly and approachable. When looking over my paper work she kept making faces at it, when I asked if there was something wrong she said well yeah in a very exaggerated manner. She said who signed this. I said the guy off the lot, I bought this car off of a used car lot. She said wait a minute and I'm guessing went in the back to her manager to get confirmation on what needed to be reviewed. When she came back she was looking over the paper work again. I said is everything okay... she said no. I said no what am I going to need. She said ma'am you need to calm down. I said I need to calm down what do you mean. She stated that I had interrupted her and was rude to her. When I in fact was not. I will admit when she started being rude I hit record and laid my phone face down. It was recording the counter not outwards anyone. I could not believe that I was being treated like this. If I needed something more or more information. That's fine but the way she was treating me was out of line. When I asked for help and wanted to speak to her manager because this was escalating for no reason. Her manager came out I said can we please speak aside from her cause she seems confrontational and I don't want the drama. She said no I wanna hear both sides with me standing there uncomfortable already I was made to make a formal complaint in front of the person I wanted to talk to about. And what do you know the lady who I was complaining about was going back and forth with me. Then I was told when I said please review this because I'm not lying. The manager threaten the police on me and said I'm not watching that. Said I was trying to steal people's information and that what I did was illegal. I said I don't mind deleting the video when she stated several times it was illegal and I would go to jail if I didn't delete it. I said can you please just review it before I do so. Because I'm not lying I have been nothing but nice to her and she was rude and mean to me. I was publicly humiliated because of someone else's bad day. The manager when I was actively deleting the video said she was calling the cops anyways and was gonna give me arrested. I said for what. I'm deleting the video.. you expect me to sit still and not touch my phone so you can say I didn't? But when I do pick it up and delete it you wanna still threaten me. And it that wasn't enough humiliation she publicly banned me from three different locations. I said why? I deleted it and I'm leaving why are you purposely trying to make it harder on me. She said it's privately owned and I own them. Don't plan on going to belton or Gladstone. You'll have to go to blue springs. I ended up leaving in tears. You can't always count on a manager to advocate for customers as well as their employees. She was rude and unprofessional in every sense. Not saying don't go here but I wouldn't count her to be a good person. read more

Only one in the area that opens at 8am instead of 9am, but don't bother going before 9 unless you are 65 or older because they make the young people stand outside until all of the old folks have been helped already. Ridiculous if you ask me because most people like myself get up early so they can get it done before work. I ended up waiting OUTSIDE in the HEAT in a non moving line just to end up leaving 2 hours later. Also, the cloth chairs are all covered in human fluid, the counters have built up sweat residue from all the sweaty hands touching and it REEKS inside. It is a DMV but you can tell they never clean inside. read more

This place is horrible. Here it is -10 outside and because they didn't have room in the lobby for those who had to get new tags. But I counted 5 empty chairs inside. We waited 15 min outside and when I asked the door lady why we couldn't go in she said "not enough room" and went inside. Then another door lady took over and she had people going outside to tell her what they were there for. And she was soooo rude and really shouldn't be working in civilization. Showed up on a Monday at 4pm 2hours before closing and was told no more customers were being allowed in today as they were already full. The lobby was half empty. The lady that greets you is rude every single time you walk in the door. Your existence is her inconvenience I guess. No matter how prepared you are she will snap. She also insisted I didn't have the documents I would need even though I brought all listed documents as well as extras that weren't mentioned online just incase. After getting to the DMV at 7:30 AM, the line was long but after standing in line thirty minutes it grew longer so when the associate finially got to me and she let me go inside I was happy. I recieved a number, 42, then I proceeded to my seat. The associate dealing with titles and renewel of plates finished up with the person ahead of me. I just knew I was next because my number was up. to my surprise the associat came from behind the counter and asked if anyone need to renew their plates she was going to start doing renewels. The guy that she was going to help first, his number was 47, I was 42 and it didn't seem fair for her to let people jump in front of people who had been their waiting from before they opened. I could see if she started out spliting the renewels from the registering of the vehicles from the begining. this associate didn't take in account that people were in line for a reason and she overlooked the ones who were suposed to be helped first and she did it blatantly. The gate keeper lady wanted to pass the buck to another worker as the complaint department and spoke over my wife. If the waiting room is full, you wait in a line outside. Pray for good weather. By the way, if your wait is long, there are no public facilities. The workers behind the desk are kind and only doing what they are told. Management is poor at this branch. read more

Both times the staff has been very polite and gave me patient clear directions, which I appreciate since the procedures to register vehicles and pay property tax differ from my home state. There are 2 lines, so take the appropriate pink or white ticket. The wait times are what one would expect, so try to go on "off times" like after lunch rush. Hate to be the one to rate a low star for a DMV. I understand they're doing their job and every job has its perks and what they hate about it. You'll have good days and bad days. The Lee's Summit License Bureau is well, is there anything worse than a DMV? The lady you have to check in through talks so slowly and quietly it is hard to hear her or listen, never mind she won't listen to you. None of the forms you need to have filled out are there. And the lists they give you of the forms you need are photocopies of photocopies. I give it two stars because it is not the worse DMV I have ever been to, so I guess good for them. read more

They must get bonuses based on how many people they can reject. I read the web-site, take all of everything I could possibly need and then some and still they find a way to tell me "no" each and every time. All of my family members have the same experience. Today I was told no because of their own policy change. No mention of it on the web-site, no sign, no way I could have known. I think they just pulled that one out of their back pocket when it looked like they were actually going to have to license my car. For some reason, the employees here act as if they had better things to do and would rather be doing them; than to help or wait on customers. I find them a little rude at times. This is the worst license bureau I have ever been to. The first time they neglected to instruct me to sign the back of the Certificate of Origination, so I had to return later in the day, when the place was packed with people, to sign it. The also showed the lienholder's state as AR instead of CA. I finally received the title from DOR over two weeks later. I quickly discovered that my first name was spelled wrong and the requested TOD information was left off the title. I must admit that this mistake was at the DOR not the license bureau, because the license bureau paperwork was correct. I was instructed by DOR to return to the license bureau and order a corrected title. I did this today, 10/20/16. I was the fourth person in line. Two people ahead of me were there for titling needs, and one guy was there for driver's license. There were two women at the stations working on titling. There were two clerks at the far stations shuffling papers of some sort. I approached the one at the end (he acted as if he thought he was some kind of supervisor). I asked him if he was ready for me and he, in a very unfriendly tone, told me he had not called my number and to return to my seat. Finally, at 8:20AM, or 20 minutes after the office opened, a late arriving clerk called my number and I got my business accomplished and left the office at 8:40AM. This license bureau is just terrible. Their customer service is negligible at best. They seem to have forgotten, or never realized, that they are here to serve their tax paying customers in a courteous and professional manner. Most of the clerks I observed seemed to be in a training status, based on the number of questions they asked their apparent supervisors. read more
