Only one in the area that opens at 8am instead of 9am, but don't bother going before 9 unless you are 65 or older because they make the young people stand outside until all of the old folks have been helped already. Ridiculous if you ask me because most people like myself get up early so they can get it done before work. I ended up waiting OUTSIDE in the HEAT in a non moving line just to end up leaving 2 hours later. Also, the cloth chairs are all covered in human fluid, the counters have built up sweat residue from all the sweaty hands touching and it REEKS inside. It is a DMV but you can tell they never clean inside.

After getting to the DMV at 7:30 AM, the line was long but after standing in line thirty minutes it grew longer so when the associate finially got to me and she let me go inside I was happy. I recieved a number, 42, then I proceeded to my seat. The associate dealing with titles and renewel of plates finished up with the person ahead of me. I just knew I was next because my number was up. to my surprise the associat came from behind the counter and asked if anyone need to renew their plates she was going to start doing renewels. The guy that she was going to help first, his number was 47, I was 42 and it didn't seem fair for her to let people jump in front of people who had been their waiting from before they opened. I could see if she started out spliting the renewels from the registering of the vehicles from the begining. this associate didn't take in account that people were in line for a reason and she overlooked the ones who were suposed to be helped first and she did it blatantly. She would have had to help me because my number was next. I found out she was a supervisor and her name is Linda Cazier office Manager

Horrible experience, workers are slow, don't recommend. Management is horrible as well. Waited 4 hours and didn't even get in.

Going to the DMV is like being loaded up with homework before the weekend. You know you need to do…read moreit, but you'll spend every waking minute avoiding it until it's all of a sudden Sunday night and you're forced into it. Luckily, the Grandview DMV is like having your parents step in and help you through it. I've had less than ideal experiences here, specifically when I had to move from Kansas to Missouri. The amount of oddly specific documentation I needed was on par for Pentagon clearance, and the staff member seemed to take some joy in the fact that I was one doc shy of approval. However if you're on top of it, it's not so bad. They do it all here, from registrations, property taxes, licensing, and whatever other beige tasks stand before you. The past few times, it's been licensing and I'm here to offer some pro-tips to make it easy for anyone who comes across this: - PAY ANNUAL REGISTRATION ONLINE: First off, if you're a MO resident, you get those annual car registration bills in the mail. Bite the bullet and pay for 2 years, online, the minute you get it. This will save you a trip from even having to come here. -GET IN LINE BEFORE: No matter what you're knocking out, take a look at their website (https://www.grandview.org/government/city-departments/finance/state-licensing-office) and/or download QLess. Both offer the ability to add yourself to the line digitally without leaving the house, saving hours. -REAL ID: Missouri is requiring Real ID in 2023 for flying (or use of a passport) so if you're renewing your driver's license, definitely come prepared to get this so you're not having to go back. I showed a birth certificate (ordered mine through a company called Vital Chek and it only took a week to arrive), govt check, social security card, two pieces of mail, and a current driver's license. There are other things that will work, like a non-expired passport, etc. but triple check their website before you leave the house so it's not a wasted day. -COVID: As of writing this, Covid is still a (big) thing, but they're open like normal. The area is large*, there's a temp check on the way in (no one was using it, however), and masks are required throughout. *Large until you get to the driver's license station, where everyone was crammed in like sardines. -NEW MO RESIDENTS: If you're a new MO resident, you need to do car registration THEN licensing, in order. Add yourself to the licensing queue while you're handling the first task so you don't spend the full day there. -WHEN TO GO: Common wisdom is middle of the week, middle of the month. Deadlines are often monthly, so they get more packed at the end of the month especially, or after holidays. I failed to add myself to the list, and it took four hours to get my license renewal, but had I known, it would've been easy-peasy. The plus side to all of this is their text communications and ability to track your spot in line via the app. I ended up working from my car and listening to podcasts, so it wasn't all bad. You could even go home and come back, no need to sit around all day if the waits are long. All in all, the ample parking, friendly-ish staff (most of the time), good signage throughout so it's clear where to go, and surprisingly easy jaunt to get there (less than 20 minutes from the Plaza) make this one head and shoulders better than downtown KC or others in more dense, urban areas.

I'd like to add that when it was close to closing he would face away from the people sitting and call out names rather than numbers and he'd say it quietly. Then people didn't hear him and he'd skip right over them. He makes it very obvious that he hates his job.

DMV - Very empty! I think because the Royals game was coming on.

After I had sat here for over an hour, my name was called. The lady starts to enter it and then she goes over to talk to another gal Who I could see from across the desk had a scowl and a crappy attitude and said I would have to come back next week. It's not that hard to enter 11 drivers license numbers and print them out. The Belton license office can have it done in less than 15 minutes, but I guess the crew here is incompetent. I came here to get my tags and registration I paid for online so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone. Don't come to this office if you don't have to. The ladies at the Belton MO DMV office are much nicer and proficient.

Don't get me wrong I know we need breaks but when there is only 2 of you, you can wait till the line is a little less. The drivers license lady is just sitting in her chair doing only god knows what. They really need someone to come in and take control. The process they have as people come in is also a joke. They have people that have forgot paperwork and go home and come back hours later that just jump in line ahead of people. They need something done with this place.

You know, for a DMV this place really isn't so bad. Hear me out!…read more We recently purchased a new vehicle and needed to get our tags transferred. Like most people I'd been avoiding it and putting it off as long as possible. When the time came I visited their website and realized that I could have just made an appointment, but there wasn't anything available now before our temporary tags expired so I just set an alarm to go first thing the next day. When I woke up I realized I had so much more to do that day than I thought and checked their website again for appointments, much to my luck they had a spot for that afternoon open up and I booked it! I arrived right on time later that day, checked in via my phone, and was seen within 10 minutes. The appointment took probably five minutes in total and I was out the door. The big learning here was that it pays to make an appointment and I LOVE that you can do that these days. Another pro tip: bring cash or a checkbook with you as they do charge a processing fee on all credit cards.

I found out yesterday that we have to "get in line" online first! I definitely think this may cut down on physical wait time in the office and allows us to pull up and get help faster. Was it inconvenient? Yes! Was it more efficient? Absolutely! I got here at 10:15, checked in at the podium and my number was called at 10:20. Now the actual process took around 30 minutes, but that's because I decided to be a big girl and get a personalized plate! Shoutout to Kansas for coming up with some cool looking plates, I love the "to the stars" quote and the sunset theme. I've been to 33 states and we definitely have the best sunset so it's spot on representation. Terra was so helpful and thoroughly explained the plate fees because I was set one the new distinctive black plates that are available to the citizens and although it's for a great cause I'm not trying to pay an extra $50 fee every year just to have it. So after talking through it I chose the purple sunset plate and the personalization was included in the one time fee to upgrade. If you see me cruising with my new plate this summer beep 3x so I know you're from Yelp
