Well anyway, I noticed that Chelle's and Green Garage were nowhere to be found on Yelp so I decided to fix that. As far as I know, Chelle's and Green Garage are owned by the same person. While Green Garage is more antique furniture and home decor focused, Chelle's has a ton of super cute and cool clothing plus jewelry, shoes, soaps, and other fun stuff. I initially found it while walking my dog through Chesterton one morning and then quickly returned with my mother to do some serious shopping. The items in this store can be a bit expensive, however, it all appeared to be "Made in the USA" and environmentally-friendly products. I LOVE that she has sale racks full of awesome clothes, really cute dresses for reasonable prices, and I even ended up with this great product I can spray on my dog to keep him from getting all stinky. At first, I barely managed a doodle, but my instructor, Diana Stezalski, encouraged me to see things differently. With a piece of charcoal in hand, I learned to observe more clearly and explore the dramatic effects of black-and-white drawing. Not only did the class provide me with personalized college-level instruction, but I also gained heartfelt collaboration with my peers, learning from each other's disciplines and forging friendships. I've taken a lino cut printing class to grow my skills. CAC offers a wide range of classes at affordable prices I can't wait to dive into my next creative adventure, who knows maybe pottery?
