I am probably going to be reviewing all of CPY's Boston locations at this rate…read more Pros: 1. Proximity to my apartment. Given that, I'll probably still end up driving over since the intersection over the pike is not the most pleasant spot to walk through, and the nearby parking/garage lot offers cheap metered parking. 2. Big welcome from Emma who was manning the front desk when I walked in. I immediately got a much friendlier vibe from, say, Fresh Pond. 3. I went with CP 2, which actually seemed more beginner-friendly than the other CP 2 class I took at Fresh Pond. This one was less heated/humid and the sequences were easier to follow. I also really liked that this class was less crowded than others and I didn't have to worry about stepping (or sweating) on someone else. Cons: 1. The locker rooms were still ... not dirty exactly. Maybe dingy is the right word? Lots of dried slushy water and salt on the floor. It's not fair of me to complain, given the recent snowfall and the rock salt strewn everywhere on the sidewalks. I do wish though that there was some sort of way to make the walk from the lockers to the studio room less dirty for bare feet. Maybe next time, I'll try the cubbies right next to the front door. Unlike some other studios/gyms, CPY seems much cheaper if you buy a membership or package from them directly (especially when they're running a promotion or offering their free unlimited week to new students) versus if you book a class thru ClassPass credits. I arrived a little late ( my fault) so I drove around for quite a while to find a spot. The entrance is a bit hidden too. It's not on the Main Street. It's on the side street toward the back of the building and when you enter there are some stairs that lead you up to the studio. They were warm and welcoming when I came in and I found my friends already laid out on their mats. Room was warm. Most classes are heated. My first heated yoga class. I enjoyed it but maybe found it a bit drying especially during wintertime. Definitely bring some water. Room was peacefully lit with candle everywhere. I felt a sense of peace as soon as I walked in. Nicole and Georgia ran the event. They were both sweet and kind and had such soothing voices as they led us through the class. Also very helpful to come around and help you out with any moves you may have trouble with. Hannah and Heather were lightly singing and playing musical instruments in the background. Beautiful voices! Classes typically run for an hour and 15 minutes and it's 15 bucks. You can also get class packs in tens, twenty, etc that lower the price for each class. Events like the one I went to are a bit more. I really enjoyed this event and will definitely come back to enjoy some regular yoga classes. Was so relaxed. Went home and slept like a baby!!

The owner Nichol is specially a lovely, kind and helpful lady. I had a couple of classes left from last 2 years from my last purchase from 2019 which I couldn't use due to covid and even when the restrictions were up , I wasn't too comfortable take physical yoga classes until recently only to realize the validity of my purchase had expired but I just made a call and Nichol reactivated the left out classes without asking a single question. I go to another yoga studio and in most studios they might do that but we also have to remember like any other service industry, the yoga business was hard hit during Covid so I wouldn't have requested to extend the validity if I would have a single sign of hesitation but Nichol couldn't be more helpful. I would also like to highly recommend the warm flow yoga classes with Nikki. I find her easier to follow specially when she introduces a new pose, she goes step by step and takes to another level and she has a reiki touch to the flow at the end of the practice which actually is very calming. However, all the trainers are very good. I have taken classes with some other trainers too and all of them are simply the master of their trades and equally good each one having an unique style. You should try them !

Wow-wee. I've been taking most of my yoga classes at Yoga Six in Wellesley but was looking for…read moresomething a tad hotter. The C2 class made me look like I had climbed out of a swimming pool afterwards. Not for the faint of heart (literally) but that was my fault - I should've started with the C1 class, which is less heated and slower-paced. PRE-CLASS: It was my first time doing CorePower and, I don't know, I was expecting a little more of an introduction/explanation when I checked in. Maybe I'm spoiled by the OrangeTheory introduction when the instructor walked me through everything and took the time to go over where everything was. Here, all I was told was that we'd be in studio __. I wandered around aimlessly and found the lockers, with signs saying locks were available at the front desk. It would've been nice to know that upfront but c'est la vie. Trying to be more zen in the new year. CLASS: Hot, hot, hot. Inga cranked the heat/humidity all the way up. I was a literal puddle about five minutes in. As a newcomer to CPY (but not to yoga), I got a lot of the cues mixed up; this is a studio-by-studio and teacher-by-teacher distinction but hearing the poses called by their names (instead of "crescent lunge with right foot back") took a while getting used to. Also, the playlist wasn't ... great. Some love ballads mixed with hard rock. Just give me the elevator violin music or nothing at all. The flow for the class was quick and fast-moving, with lots of one-legged variations, and you are encouraged to take breaks but the break itself was so short before the teacher would move on. It got so hot at one point that I seriously contemplated leaving the room. Bring plenty of water and one extra towel. POST-CLASS THOUGHTS: The studio itself felt cramped; the class was only about half-full but I'm not sure a packed sardine-type class would be enjoyable with so much sweat pouring out of every orifice. I did wish that, for savasana (aka, my favorite pose), the temperature could be turned down several notches. Or CPY could offer cold hand towels after (sorry, spoiled by Yoga Six). Also - there is definitely a sweaty funky smell. Like 8/10 on a scale of funkiness. Unescapable and inevitable, for sure. Sorry to keep drawing comparisons but one of the features that I like a lot about Yoga Six is that there, the ventilation seems much better. Parking: Abundant, free parking. This is probably what's going to make me come to the Fresh Pond CPY location over the other ones in Boston or Cambridge.
